Kar's Hotel

Furnishing was lovely, unlike most hotels in eastern Turkey. Lovely spacious rooms and very relaxing. Very good wifi connection. Staff very friendly.

Would be ideal if one staff member could speak a bit more English. Could get by on the basics but not too much more.

Clean rooms in a well refurbished russian house. The staff was friendly and helpful, though our turkish was not very good at that moment. This hotel is well located in the city center, right in front of the Kar's Store.

It's a shame one of the best restaurant in the city is located in the basement of this hotel. The ambiance suffers a little from that choice.

It's beautiful, the staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfasts were wonderful, the location is ideal, a lovely building and very comfortable.

A centrally located hotel in a historical Russian building. We were upgraded to a suite which was spacious and comfortable. Service was professional and efficient. The breakfast was excellent with fresh local products.

Air conditioning would have been welcome in summer as the room was very warm.

It is expensive

This is a little hotel of 8 rooms with charm that really puts out and not what one expects to find in such a remote place. The interior is most attractive, mainly white and grey,and some rooms (not my single one) had a sitting room attached. The dining room (breakfasts only) very pleasant too.

The one great problem is that the staff, though extremely anxious to be helpful, don't speak English, or at least not much beyond a 'Me Tarzan, you Jane' level. This can be a serious setback (try asking "How do I get an outside line?" When you want to call someone urgently in another country). So a pretty good booklet on Turkish (a complicated language) is absolutely essential. But the truth is I usually managed. For some reason, speaking English doesn't seem to have impressed north-eastern Turkey as an important acquirement (western Turkey's another matter). But hopefully things will change as it's discovered more. It's an incredible countryside.

これでサイトで予約したように、一泊139euro請求されたら、Bookiing comにクレームを付けようと思ったが、少し安くしてくれた。不満な点。部屋が汚かったので、掃除させた。- 英語が分る従業員（支配人も）ほとんどいない。テラスのテーブルも椅子も吹いた形跡なし。部屋のテレビは故- 障で、国際放送は入らず。wi-fiも部屋では使えない。前泊した近くのGrand Ani HotelはTV, pool, saunaあり，朝食夕食つきで90euro.。総じてこのホテルは2星~3星クラスなのにサイトの表示は高すぎる（4星クラス以上）。サイト上のホテル- の場所も正確ではなかった。

The room was very well refurbıshed and decorated ın a sımple style, and the ınterıor was sympathetıcally restored. Overall, the restoratıon attempt was to be applauded.

Facılıtıes were faırly awful. and there was a lack of a welcomıng communal guest lounge. The whole place had the ambıence of a mausoleum, and most certaınly the experıence was generally unsatısfactory.. The laundered ,but stıll blood-marked sheets were a surprıse.

The Kar's Hotel is set within an old Russian Mansion, with beautiful ornate details. The staff was helpful in arranging a wonderful guide to Ani. The breakfast offered a wonderful, fresh selection.

The staff was friendly and guided us to a great restaurant.

I did not like the fact that I requested a non-smoking room and people were smoking outside the hall to my room. I put towels under the doorway to keep the smoke out. Also, there were no blackout curtains so I did not sleep well at all without them and the smoke. The breakfast was not good at all and the breakfast room smelled like something was rotten. Additionally, I was charged extra for spouse to stay in the same room and it was quite a bit. The price for this hotel was definitely not worth what you get.

Convenient location

1) Kar's Hotel had no record of our booking.com reservation for two nights for three adults (connecting suite with two beds). The morning after our first night--not when we checked in--we were informed that we had the room for one night only. We showed our booking.com on-line confirmation for two nights. The hotel staff person required that we change to a different room in order to stay a second night as our current room for three adults was not available for the second night. Our tour guide for the day had wait while we had to hastily re-pack all of our luggage for the room change. Instead, we decided to leave the hotel. No adjustment in the rate was made for our inconvenience. Very unsatisfactory. 2) four electrical outlets plus the main floor lamp in one room and the light in the shower did not work! A staff person replaced the non-functioning lamp but she couldn't do anything about the other non-working electrical features. I had to take a shower in the dark! Very unsatisfactory. 3) Kar's Hotel amenities certainly were not consistent with the high price and "boutique hotel" designation: few bathroom amenities (no shampoo, lotion, etc); cold breakfast (no hot items available). This hotel was the least satisfactory and most costly of all of the hotels to date (July 6) that I booked on booking.com. Overrated hotel.

Difficult to find with GPS as address is incorrect, not 79 as listed, had to get out of car and walk to find it. Didn't find staff helpful It's a luxury boutique hotel that we felt trades on appearance and decor and lacks on service However a nice oasis in a dusty hot town Nice balcony but no chairs to sit and enjoy being outside

the buildıng ıs a beautıful renovated russian house. clean and nice rooms. ecxellent breakfast. it was the best choice to pass kars to go to rize.

Mooi hotel met bijzondere uitstraling. Heerlijke bedden en prima badkamer. Heerlijk ontbijt.

Een minibar op de kamer was wel prettig geweest. Jammer dat het personeel zo slecht Engels spreekt, maar ze deden wel hun best. Het is weliswaar een prima hotel, maar toch wel erg prijzig.

Es war in dem Zimmer warm.

- Die Bilder sind optische Täuschungen. - Die Zimmer sind klein. - das Restaurant war zu. - das es Frühstück gab wurde erst nach 4 Tagen Aufenthalt gesagt, obwohl man danach gefragt hatte. - Zimmertüre nach draußen zu dünn, jedes Geräusch von draußen mitbekommen. Im großen ganzen ist es ein Flop dort ein Zimmer zu Buchen... Für den Preis kann man in einem 5 Sterne Hotel eine woche bleiben. Fazit: Rentiert sich nicht !
