Megara Palace was really worth of money! Safe, clean, refurbished, nice hotel really within walking distance to the old town sights: Top Kapi, Hagia Sofia, Blue Mosque, etc. Also a good restaurant street just round the hotel corner, however, the hotel has own rest., too. We, 50 year old people, spent there 7 nights on holiday, having good sleep. The staff was excellent, always (24/7). The view to the sea was fantastic when having good, Turkish style buffet breakfast at the restaurant which was upmost floor. Atmosphere and the decoration at hotel was cosy and relaxing. Everything worked well at the hotel. We recommend to everyone who looks for safe, peaceful, clean and cosy choice in Old Town of Istanbul; knowing that hotels usually do not fulfill these adjectives in Old Town. Thanks to all staff & owner of the hotel.

I liked the breakfast area best. The view is amazing. I don't thing there was something I specifically didn't like. maybe the fact that the breakfast selection was not very wide.

I lived in the hotel for 1 week and I had a very happy stay here. They gave me a reasonable price. The staff are kind, considerate and helpful. The hotel has excellent location, you can walk to the Topkapı Palace and AyaSofia from the hotel in no more than 2 minutes.the decoration of the hotel is very exquisite;my room is on the 4th floor.it is clean and lovely, with wonderful seaview from the balcony;the heater is warm enough in this temperture, which is not very common in other economic hotels I stayed during my vacation in Turkey. bad smell from the bathroom;breakfast are the same every day.

The breakfast at the rooftop was excellent with a stunning view at the Bosporus; staff is very friendly and helpful, rooms are a little bit small but very clean and cosy, the location is great - everything is in walking distance. Was my second time and if I return to Istanbul I will for sure book this hotel again!

The staff and the location are superb. Breakfast on the terrace was wonderful - glorious view, a simple but more than adequate breakfast and helpful staff. Not only is the location good for the major sights it is also good for reasonably priced, good quality restaurants There is no lift and the stairs - a spiral staircase - are a bit treacherous. The walls and doors are quite thin so if your neighbours at all noisy you can hear them clearly. I needed to change my room as my neighbours had two small chiildren who cried a great deal. The hotel staff could not have been more understanding or helpful

I would recommend Megara Palace to other travelers to Istanbul. The hotel is conveniently located near the main tourist sites. The rooms are comfortable and clean. Breakfast is served on the top floor with beautiful views of the water. Wifi is not the strongest, but it works in communal areas quite well.

We had a room with a large balcony overlooking the sea which was a perfect place to sit and relax before breakfast and after a long day. The room ws clean and comfortable, the en-suite to our room was small but had a good shower in it. The roof top terrance was a very nice area to have brealfast and was offered as a restuarnt area in the evening but We did not see it being used as a resturant, this was not a problem as the hotel is perfectly located for many bars and resturants. Hotel was in a good location for everything we wished to do in Istanbul. I would recomend this hotel to friends. There wasn't really anything that we disliked about the hotel. Very quiet apart from the 4.00am alarm call each morning from the Mosque

Exceptional service from all of the staff; they went out of their way to make our stay memorable and personal. Rooms are quaint, have character and very clean. Location is outstanding for the major sites of Sultanehmet. Beautiful rooftop terrace for breakfast and a relaxing place to sit out front for a cold beer when we returned from sightseeing. i would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a reasonably priced great place to stay in Istanbul.

Price was good. Airconditioner didn't work, only air coming out, no cold air. Breakfast okay, but no refill of juices and sausages when finished.

In the heart of the most interesting part of an interesting city, this is great value, with a wonderful staff, perfect location, nice breakfast and a good, clean, tidy, well-maintained room. Considering how crazy the neighborhood is with cafes, restaurants, shops, and tour buses, this is a remarkably quiet oasis just a block or so from everything you could want. A 5 min walk to the tram stop if you want to go to other parts of the city. Very good breakfast every morning on the roof top overlooking the Bosphorous was a highlight of the trip. Mehmet and all the staff spoke good English and were lovely and helpful in every way. I look foward to returning. It was perfect for us, but you should know that it does not have an elevator so be prepared to walk up the spiral staircase to your room on the second or third floor and the breakfast room on the 4th floor. If my 91 yr old mother could do it, so can you! Also, if you are expecting a spacious room with arm chairs to lounge in, you will be dissappointed, this is a fine, clean utilitarian room in a dense city.

All equipments in this hotel and all services are "cheap", the door like carton made us participate to the life of our neighbours, the shower was so lauzy, the breafast terrible quality, orange juice just a yellow water etc...Except the funny parrot the stay in this "palace" was so frustrating.

Very helpful staff, excellent views from roof, good food in restaurant. Perfectly placed to visit the attractions. A very pleasant stay. Only one very small concern was that if we didn';t leave the window in our room open the room smelled a little bit of drains.

I is located under the Topkapi palace walls, 5 minute walk from Aja Sophia,10 minutes walk from Blue Mosque, and 15 minutes walk from Grand Bazaar, so the location is good, although you have to walk 10 minutes to the nearest tram stop. The staff is excellent, nice, english speaking guys, always have a smile for you and willing to explain everything you need about the city. On the top floor is a cosy little restaurant with a fireplace and nice view over the Bosporus. Rooms are small, you don't have enough place for the luggage or bags when you come back from shopping full of souvenirs. In the morning around 6:00 you hear a loud muslim call to prayer from the mosques that will probably wake you up - windows are not sound proof. Walls are thin and you hear noise from the corridor, however there were not many guests at the hotel, so this was not a big problem. Breakfast is plentiful (cooked eggs, ham, cheese, yogurt, olives, butter, jam, honey, cereals...), but exactly the same every day, we stayed there for 6 nights, so a change of breakfast choices every two-three days would be nice.
