Megara is right next to the ancient wall that runs around Topkapi palace; the views are wonderful. Its so close to most of the 'must see' sights - they become your neighborhood while you are there. The hotel is charming, with great attention to detail in the decor and good facilities. Best of all though, were the staff - such a warm and welcoming bunch of people. I would definitely recommend staying at Megara

Old fashioned style of hotel with excellent bar/restaurant/ breakfast area with a good view. Comfortable, basic bedroom, adequate bathroom. Good breakfast.

Room a bit dark, but not really a problem.

Location (all major attractions eg. blue mosque within walking distance), gorgeous Bosphorus views, friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, excellent WiFi, great breakfast buffet (I am celiac, and plenty of gluten-free options were provided). Highly recommend as excellent value for money deal. Only comment is that bathroom was a little 'tired'- but that said, it was large, everything worked well and shower had great pressure/hot water, so no complaints really. Staff were very helpful in organising both an airport pickup, and then taxis when required. Thanks for a lovely stay, Megara Palace!

The location The staff The Terrace The cost The food The quaintness! The Turkish Chardonnay.

The position of toilet - too squeezy The stairs - very dangerous and not well lit. The food was good but there was not a lot of choice for dinner. Breakfast was fine. Beds were a bit hard.

This hotel is brilliantly situated just across the road from the Topkapi Palace and near all the important sites in the Old City. It is comfortable and the staff are extremely friendly, helpful and efficient. The hotel boasts a rooftop breakfast room, with an amazing view. We loved our stay here.

I liked the plaсe. Мегара Palaсe situated near all remarkable Istanbul sights (Hagia Sophia, Yerebatan Sarnıcı and others) and in the same time it is near the tram station. So you can easy reach any notiseble place in the city. Personnel were really frendly. Thank you Saahashi, Mehmet, Jzha, and nice woman who booked our return transfer to the airport (sorry, we don't know your name) for yours care and attention. There is stunning view on the sea gulls in the clouds from terassa during breakfast. Clean room, comfortable beds, elegant orient design are in this plase. Unlike many other small cozy hotels Megara was not lost in their crowd, and is located on the corner of the historic district Sultanahmet. So you can enjoy the atmosphere of the ancient city all the time. I recommend this hotel to visit. Istanbul is lovely! P.S I advice to order a hamam in reception hotel desk. You will be taken to a Turkish bath and then take you back to the hotel. Very comfortable.

Convenience of the location in Sultanahmet for Topkapi and restaurants. The hotel terrace where breakfast is served has a sea view and overlooks the perimeter walls of Topkapi palace. Staff were helpful. Would consider staying there again for 1or 2 nights.

Rooms rather small but assume that's reflected in the price.

The roof terrace - stunning views, I could have sat there all day! Only 10 mins walk from Sultanahmet tram stop. Also main taxi office right opposite which is handy if you're combining business and pleasure as we did. Staff are lovely and very helpful. Adjacent arts shop had some lovely items.

Rooms could do with some updating, but comfy bed and reasonably quiet a/c which is always a bonus. Bit short on storage space, would have liked a chest of drawers as we were there best part of a week.

    The location is excellent

We were arriving at 8am from a very long flight so I booked the room for the night before so we could check in immediately and get settled. We arrive and they double booked our room so we had to wait for the people in it to leave and they still expected us to pay for it!! Very unethical way to operate.

    1. Terrace outside the breakfast/dining area overlooks the Marmara Sea 2. Quite spacious lobby with adequate seating if you have to wait for someone 3. Taxi rank is just outside the hotel 4. Close tp Hagia Sofia

    1. Rooms and bathrooms very small. Hardly any place to put two pieces of large bags and showering required great care.

Handy location, close to major attractions. I stayed in a terrace room which was roomy with a nice palace/water view. Hotel staff were friendly.

Smell of sewage in bathroom (my terrace room). My friend stayed in a single room which was very very small with no view & no tea/coffee making facilities. On day of check-out we went out in the morning and returned to hotel before check-out time of 12noon, and found my friend's bags were packed by housekeeping and left in corridor so they could vacant the room! Breakfast had very limited choices. Also no elevator on-site, only narrow and winding stairs, hard to walk down with luggages.
