The staff are incredibly kind and helpful, the breakfast is amazing, and the neighborhood is quiet at night, but still close enough to Sultanahmet that you're a quick walk from sightseeing and some amazing Turkish food. You're in an actual neighborhood, and in the morning you'll see kids walking to school from the rooftop terrace where breakfast is served.
I had trouble finding it because people in Istanbul just can't seem to give good directions. Once I found someone who actually knew what they were talking about (hint: going into a travel agency's office on the main road was a good idea), it was easy to find. It's on a hill, so handicapped people should take note.
Nice staff, value for money, near to historic places
excellent place, perfect location, breakfast served on the roof, with the view to the sea... very very friendly stuff who is ready to help in any issue, special thanks to ozcan and other guys!!!
Friendly staff, location, price.
Very helpful staff.
WiFi was down for two days.
The location of the hotel is superb if what you want to see is Byzantine Constantinople. The washrooms are clean and excellent. The rooms are of a good size, clean and neat.
I never received the promised breakfast,a nd there was a lot of confusion at the fornt desk, almost all the time--they made me double pay, for example. Not cheating me--an honest mistake.
They give us rooms in slightly better hotel (Stone hotel) and we could enjoy our holiday, so finally everything was ok.
We arrive to hotel and they said us its closed because of problem with management change. It was really shock. They could inform us in advance.
1. Location is nice 2. Reception lady Cansu is very friendly and helpful
1. When I arrived to the hotel receiptionist told me that due to some technical problems hotel rooms were overbooked and they don't have available room for me. They advised me to go to 'friend's hotel' I said ok but I will pay 20% less than I supposed to pay. 2. Breakfast was really the worst breakfast in my life. Tables were dirty even tea bags looked like somebody used them. I ate 1 boiled egg and some grapes. All the rest was absolutely awful- yesterday's bread, strange cheese, jam and spoiled tomatoes. 3.Rooms are 2 times smaler than they look on photos and not so clean as they must be. It's ok to stay 1 or 2 nights there, but be ready to have breakfast in the city.
The veiw on posphers when having breakfast
- location - breakfast - good food and nice view - clean - big room
At first when we arrived to the hotel stuff couldn't find our reservation. It took them forever to check us in plus when we arrived to rooms there was only one (I booked 2). They tried to get money from me before but we said we will pay later. After discussion with the boss we were allowed to pay for just one room. I couldn't check before the fact they already charged my credit card as well and canceled my reservation I did via booking.com, even though I was there. They told me that if I have problem with having one room I can always go to other hotel. So after we were back home we realized they just charged the credit card cause we ''didn't show up'' plus took cash telling us there is no possibility to pay with credit card and that room was not paid. This way they had 360 euro from my credit card plus 180 they took from me in cash. Finally it took 6 month to get money back but it wasn't easy at all. After booking.com influenced them they admitted they took more money cause of the'mistake' (there was far too many of them). But they also refused any contact my bank tried to make with them. My advice: FIND OTHER HOTEL!!!!
Location is good and rooftop terrace nice with views of Bosphorus
Air con didn't work properly so temperature varied at night making sleep uncomfortable. Floor at front door was broken.
The breakfast is very monotonous.
Welcome, friendly and helpful staff vue of the terrace. breakfast bedroom at the back location; close to tram
Hotel owner is continously overbooking rooms, meaning that you won't get your room, even with a confirmation (which is worthless here). Instead, they lead you to a "friend's hotel" (small rooms, less facilities) and still charge full room price. You have to walk through Istanbul with all your baggage. Next morning you'll have to wait half a day until your room is ready. You'll be losing time and nerves here. They ruined our stay in Istanbul. When we arrived, they even told us to have 33 confirmations accepted for only 19 rooms, due to a technical problem (of course...) It happened to so many guests during all days that we've been there, that this is obviously systematic overbooking. You just feel like a fool here. Other guests were as frustrated as we had been. Best time was when we left the hotel. They are cheating in every way imaginable. The hotel description is a joke: There is no restaurant or bar for the guests at the roof, they just serve for their own staff. Parking costs 10EUR, only for motorbikes it's 5EUR. They only speak English as long as they want to understand you. I won't continue this list, it's just too much. Don't trust them, they always tell you what you want to hear in order to calm you, but it won't get any better. After a few hours you will get the same feeling: I just want to get out of here! :-(
Centrally located in the old city. Walking distance to all attractions. Breakfast menu was decent.
I like the hospitality of the staff. They were very helpful and they made me feel comfortable throughout my whole stay in the hotel. My room was cleaned and my things were arranged neatly on a daily basis. Towels were also changed every day. The cleanliness of the room and the bathroom was a sure plus. The friendliness of the staff and even the owner made me feel at ease and at home in the hotel. It made my stay in the city more relaxing and enjoyable. =)
Sometimes the WiFi connection is slow or it would just go off but this incidence is rare.
The staff were very helpful
Room not serviced one day. No ice available Shower leaked Bedside lamps never worked
Given its location it should be half priced.
The location was very good and have easy access to tourist attractions.
I have asked for an extra bed but they had not provided that till the end of my stay.
As we enter in the room we found dirty bathroom carpet, dirty pillow (with black footprints on it) and a general mildew smell in the room. In three days they never cleaned up the room and neither changed the towels. The last night, after several gripes, they brought us the bed sheets and I was oblige to fix this by myself. First and basic thing in one hotel as to be the cleaning, doesn't matter the number of the stars of the hotel. Room on the fifth floor was really noisy in the morning due to the presence of the breakfast area on the upper floor.
Friendly staff Price
The horrible smell in the bathroom. Breakfast in two days never started T 07:00.
Great Breakfast terrace view, good breakfast (although all cold items), value for money & only 5-7 mins walk to Main city centre attractions. Flexible approach. Staff very friendly and accommodating.
Noisy at night if you are on a low floor. One day they ran out of towels... and that caused a problem!! Whilst close to istanbul centre, the hotel is on a fairly steep hill walk into town. Not a huge problem, but would be for the elderly.
So close to the historical places
It is too difficult to walk in as it is found on a mountain..the slide is very terrible..
The staff and service an A+. Most were very friendly and always accommodating. The vibe in the hotel was also positive. We likes the "dorm like" experience of hanging out in the lobby meeting interesting travellers.
The hill that leads up to the Main Street. The wifi was on and off from our initial room. We'd booked a suite but were given a smaller room with one less bed for the first night. They were apologetic and fixed this for the following nights. The satellite TV was on and off and we had a technician have to fix the TV three times. The breakfast was okay the first day, but then the following days they didn't have hot food such as sausages etc. Breakfast was disappointing overall.
first night arrived late, were very tired and there was no room for us, they have sent us to another hotel (good one, have to tell), next morning (waste of time changing hotel when you have just 2 days in Istambul) there was a room but very smelly one, pipes problem I believe, when we have come back next evening the room was not cleaned at all and the towels weren't changed we have booked the parking but it was just a little bit of land in front of the hotel so we had to pay 30€ extra for 3 nights in the private parking nearby
