Was closed to all kind of museums, grand bazaar, City center , great local restaurants! The staff ( Alper ) was great !! Helpful. he booked for us all our trip for Cappadocia for a such cheap price ! Really recommend this hostel
Was quite hard to find the hotel... But you have a few options . First call or whatsapp " Alper " manager " ( +90 (538) 328 21 64 ) and he will give you all kind information about the hostel .
Friendly staff who helped a lot.
Stairs not suitable for baby carouselle but Alper, the owner, always helped to carry.
Helpful staff. Good location for sightseeing and restaurants. Quiet neighbourhood.
The room was not sound proof. I could hear noises coming from outside the room. It didn't occur often, but when it did (e.g. when new guests arrived), it was noisy and disturbing.
Everything. It's not a hotel but rooms above a shoe factory. Internet never connected. Wall paper was peeling. Bathroom stank. Noisy. Lights not working properly. Poor breakfast. Wouldnt stay there again or recommend.
Staff was very helpful and accommodating did not spend much time in room and would definitely stay here again.
Not fancy and it is in the business district so at night it is very quiet and desolate but it is safe and only 2 blocks away from tram and other larger hotels.
The guys that owns the hotel is really cool. He's friendly and helpful. This place doesn't really look like hotel though, but I didn't care really. It had everything you need: breakfast and wi-fi included, clean and spacious room, quiet area, "old town" central part of Instanbul. This guy can offer you a transfer from and to the airports. It's cheaper than taxis.
The smell came out of the bathroom in double bed room. It actually really annoyed sometimes. The other problem is that no one really knows about this hotel. When you call a taxi, they struggle to find it or better say cannot find it. Every time taxi drivers called the hotel to get some advice and directions. The area is "old town" and close to few sightseeings, but you don't need this "old town". It's not beautiful and it's pretty unsafe. There's an area in Istanbul - Taksim. This is where you need to be, but it'll be more expensive though. So, Metin Han overall is good value for money. But taxi driver unable to find this hotel - is really irritating.
First, the hotel is well located not far from BlueMosque and Grandbazaar. I need also to mentionne the hospitality of Alper. The hotel's manager. A very good person who are availible 24/7 to answer and to guide us in Istanbul.
The owner is very friendly; price was very good; clean room; convenient location in Old City;
Extremely noisy/thin walls; bathroom smelled; street seemed dodgy at night (though probably fairly safe)
Clean and comfortable room. Good and simple breakfast. Very close to Grand Bazaar and other attraction like SultanAhmet. Many eateries metres away from hotel
One setback is no lift but staff ever ready to assist you with your luggages.
The staff were very friendly and helpful, even phoning us before we arrived to check that we were not having any difficulties. They were also very knowledgeable when we asked them for information regarding attractions, transport, etc. The location is very good, minutes walk from the Grand Bazaar, and perhaps 10 minutes from the Blue Mosque and other attractions. There is an old turkish bath just along the street, and many restaurants just around the corner. Many more restaurants are within a 5 minute walk, some of which are among the best we tried while in Istanbul. There is a tram stop very close to the hotel from which you can get to the airport (Ataturk) in under an hour (this is the best way to travel to and from the airport, - taxis are expensive and are apparently exempt from any rules regarding safe driving!).
The actual street that the hotel is on is poorly lit at night, and when you are not familiar with the city this is not ideal, though no fault of the hotel. That said it generally always had other people walking on it, and we never experienced anything to make us uncomfortable.
owner very helpful and friendly, good breakfast, great location minutes walk from all attractions
“the hotel owner Alper is a very helpful and caring manager. He was helping me with everything ı needed from airport transfer to some personal requests. The hotel is small but sweet and comfortable. The location is great!” The best budget option close to the Grand Bazaar in the heart of Istanbul's shoe making meca.
The owner was fantastic, friendly helpful and customer orientated. The best budget option close to the Grand Bazaar in the heart of Istanbul's shoe making meca. Rooms comfortable, spacious with well functioning bathrooms.
Difficult to find.
Located in the central location of old Istanbul, just half an hour walk or three stations away from the main sights like Aya Sofia. The hotel owner is very kind and very helpful. The breakfast is good and free. Airport connection service to both airports is also provided in a reasonable cost.
The internet connection is not very stable at night when lots people are accessing Internet. The hotel is actually a block of apartments with narrow stairs. No elevators provided. It would be difficult for travellers with big luggage cases.
-Location near tramway station -If you are in istanbul for buying many shoes the neigbourhood is fine -The manager talk english and could understand even my french accent, he gave us many good advice about place to visit. -The facility is good, clean you got what you pay for. -Service drop/off to airport excellent
-Wifi, a bit slow
I would like to thank you the owner of the hotel. He was very kind and responsive. Location of Metin Han is very convenient. You can walk to famous sights
The bed creaked :))
Very nice rooms and good aircon.
Wifi was not good and hotel very difficult to find.
Great position of hotel! Everything is in walking distance, so close to Grand Bazaar, Hagia Sophia,... Room was very clean and really beautiful. For me it was one of the best hotels I have ever stayed in Istanbul, and I'll go there in my next visit again! Plus stuff is very helpful and nice!
Azis who runs the hotel is very polite and helpful. Room was very clean, and location is right in the heart of old Constantinople, excellent for a city break, very close to Blue Mosque, Grand and Spice bazars, main transport links and shopping areas. Even dough hotel is not too easy to find, Azis was very helpful explaining the best way and met us on a street.
Not suitable for high maintenance people. Do not expect room service and flat screen TV, wifi and TV were not working most of the time, however still very good place for those who are looking for good value place to crash for a night or few in the very center of Istanbul.
The location is excellent! Room is not big but very clean, the clean lady even helped to fold our clothes. The hotel manager is so friendly and helpful. One of our flight was cancelled, I got the message very late at night, around 11:30pm, and the manager called the air company for us in Turkish to solve the problem till 12:30am. Really appreciate and will stay in the hotel again.
I would strongly recommend to anyone going to Istanbul to stay at Metin Han. The location is pretty handy and close to everything, also very well connected with transport and moving with taxi is really cheap. The place is very clean, rooms are bright and spacious with excellent quality/price and good wifi connection. There is a good breakfast too, but what gives the plus to this place is Aziz and his staff, incredibly kind and welcoming to give a warm home feeling, keen to help and support at any time and always with a smile on their faces. He walked us to main places to show around, recommended best deals and tours and made our stay in Istanbul even more special. I will always go back to stay there for next times.
The manager. He did all that he could to make our visit welcome. He lifted all our luggage up the stairs. Gave us directions and maps and advice on where to visit, and at the end of the stay, helped us take our luggage to where we were to meet the transport, a long way because of the traffic.
Poor maintenance. Very few lamps were working. The bathroom was a joke. Hot water was available, but bare wiring was visible and the fan was disconnected, making the whole accommodation smell terrible.
great position for sightseeing, friendly staff, rooms are clean.
unpleasant smell from the bathroom that can be solved by runing the water for 15 minutes
The hospitality received from Aziz goes beyond what you pay for. His assistance makes this hotel tick. The hotel itself was presentable and spacious, great value for money. The location is so central that we literally walked to the shopping area. Will definitely call again!
