everything was fine, staff is very helpful, the breakfast is good (after a couple of days it is going to be a little boring, but you know...i didn't go there for this :)). spectacles are very close to the hotel, only a few minutes by walk. blue mosque, ayasophia, topkapi, grand bazaar, cistern...the sea is 20 minutes by walk or 3 stops with tram, and you can not miss it, 'cos it is the only one thereabout...so it is perfect if you want to see the city and spend your money. in the latter you will find many-many helping hands :) and if you would like to see the other parts of istambul or turkey they have a tour booklet you can choose from...great! only one thing. they could not tell us how to get to park miniatürk...but know i tell you ;) 14 stops from eminönü with bus 47 or 47E. oh, and do not use the cabs alone for long trips (airport), it is the most expensive i have ever seen. have a good journey! :)

The beds are comfortable, not worn out and sagging. The rooms are quite nice, though European small. The best part of the Mina is location.Wow! Walking distance to everything important in Sultanahmet. And close to the tram to reduce the walking and even connect to the new district, Taksim, Istiklal, ferries. The next best thing about the Mina is the incomparable rooftop terrace for evening drinks or even a well-priced dinner. Our last trip to Turkey involved 7 different hotels, all except the Mina rated "5-stars." The Mina was just as satisfying a stay as most of the more expensive properties we stayed at, and it had probably the second-best breakfast of the seven hotels. The Mina does not have a swimming pool as all up-scale hotels in Turkey have, but you will not miss it in Istanbul. Too much to see and do otherwise. A suggestion: a stroll across the bottom level of the Galata Bridge and a lunch or dinner or drinks at one of the many, many restauranats on that level of the bridge is a nice, inexpensive treat. You have to decide whether you want the ferry side, with lots of boat traffic or the Bosporous side, which is a grander view but not as interesting. The sauna requires a fee. The exercise room is two machines and one set of light weights. Don't plan to spa here.

Location Rooms are small and very dark. The first floor rooms have terrible views to the back yard. The breakfast was the same for the entire week that I stayed.

We liked the location. It was shabby and needed an update. The food in the restaurant was not that great. We are in our 60's and the bathroom tub was so high that it was dangerous to get in and out of. It also was filled with mold.

Brilliant location, walking distance from the tram and many of Istanbul's most popular sights (Blue Mosque etc.) Very helpful staff, prepared to help organise transport and meals for groups, as well as everyday little issues. Rooms very well equipped and clean. Lovely bathrooms, powerful shower and aircon. Beautiful roof terrace with bar and cafe/restaurant, fantastic views over the city - a really nice place to relax. Very few negatives: Breakfast room was a little crowded at times.

The location was perfect in the historical peninsula of Istanbul. The hotel was near to all main places that you must see and a fair walking distance from the sea from at the bridges. The rooms are very small unlike the picture shown in the advertisement; we had a double but two people can barely move. The bathrooms was even tinier and it had a leak that was uncomfortable to deal with. Despite our notification to the reception, this leak was never repaired.

The location. Just walking distance to many tourist spots. I enjoyed the place very much. One thing... the price compared to the room space is quite high. Other than that.. marvellous

Good location, and very friendly and helpfull staff. Fair internet connection and clean rooms. Seaview was a high window that overlooks some sea. I would say "seaview" is a missleading description. Room was small. Breakfast poor and you have to pay for omlets and fresh orange juice. No paper tissue in the rooms. Only Turkish TV channels.

My booking was for a sea view room. The only view I had was of a wall about 50cm in front of the window. I was offered a discount for this change, but never the less, it is concerning that bookings can be changed by the hotel.
