Small rooms , Small bathroom , Breakfast from 7.30 until 10.30 - at 9 NO american coffee ,when we ask the response are - sorry ,no more coffee ... Also breakfast was not vary , everyday the same , The carpet in the corridor was old and dirty , No help from the bellboy at checkout ,No kindly staff..
Staff were very friendsly and helpful.
Rooms very a bit small and breakfast was a little poor.
The location is excellent, the roof restaurant has a splendid view on the old city, the staff is very Nice and efficient. The neige bourbon is calm in spire of the central location
The rom is a bit small, especially the bathroom.
Location Friendliness of hotel staff
I thought the staff were fantastic. Enthusiastic, friendly and looking to help in every way.
I thought the Mina was great value for money. For that price it's unreasonable to expect a large room or lavish facilities.
Location; breakfast; informative staff; willingness of the staff to change rooms for us when our original room smelled of sewer problems.
Small rooms; condition of the carpeting in the rooms was poor; of the two rooms we had both had dirty carpeting. Layout of the rooms was cramped for two people. Sewer smell in room 506.
LOCATION AND PRICE/VALUE RELATION
NO PROPER LAUNDRY SERCIE AND THE PRICES IN THE HOTEL ROOF BAR ARE FAR TO EXPENSIVE
Great location. Attentive staff especially Janet. Quiet clean room
Convenient location in historic centre of Istanbul and near to the excellent public transport system. Walking distance to Aya Sophia, Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar and many other sights. Helpful staff and very good breakfasts.
Staff were helpful and buffet breakfast was excellent.
No information as to how guests could use the tram system. Too few taxis new the whereabouts of the hotel - give out cards with hotel address.
The service from Ali in the top bar and restaurant, and the quality of the superb food, plus the convenience to access Istanbul's top tourist spots. All staff were very pleasant and helpful.
The size of the rooms - far too small. But most importantly the fact that the air-conditioning was switched off regularly
Great location near the Blue Mosque
Although they advertise having air conditioning in the hotel, it did not work very well at all and it was very hot and humid in the room. To top it off, a few hours before we checked out of the hotel, we had a flood in our room when the ceiling collapsed near our window and water came gushing into the hotel room. The staff at the hotel were not particularly helpful in moving us to another room, although they did eventually do this. I was incredulous when there was absolutely no apology offered to us by the management and when they still expected that we would pay for our 1-night stay. It was only when I pointed out how inconvenient the flood was to us that a small discount was offered to us, but still no apology! I certainly would not recommend this hotel to anyone.
Mina Hotel is located very close to Sultanahmet Street. Many people and cars pass through the hotel street until midnight or even later. So, you can get out of/walk to the hotel with no worries regarding the safety issues. You can easily catch taxis very easily and in all the hours. / Mina Hotel gives you the best breakfast being served in the best location. While eating breakfast, you will enjoy the panoramic view of the neighborhood in the 6th floor.
The rooms are too small with very tiny sitting area. You will be fine if you are going to be out all the day and be back to hotel just for sleeping. / While they say the breakfast is being served from 7:30 to 10:30, they start to clear the breakfast tables from 10:15. There is no refill after 10 unless you ask for. / You may have problems with English when trying to get help from the reception staff.
Staff helpfull and friendly , good location close to Grand Bazaar
Awoken by the Imams at the crack of dawn - you learn to love that sound! Awesome manager who took us around and showed us the ropes. Beautiful view of the Blue Mosque and very central location.
That we couldn't spend more time there!
The staff made sure we were doing great at all time. Helped us with whatever they could, including booking a turkish bath for us, a guide tour and helping us with getting around the old city and going to the bus station. They let us checked in at 9am which was also awesome! Great location, good breakfast and reasonable price
Fabulous location! Very friendly and helpful staff who couldn't do enough to make our stay special. The view from the rooftop bar/restaurant of the Blue Mosque is just breathtaking!! Would definitely stay again.
Convenience to blue mosque and surrounding sites very good
Bedroom a little small
I requested for king size bed but they give me twin bed for solo traveller
Awesome staff, really nice people and high service value (transfer, cleaning on time, printer, etc.) Awesome view from the restaurant. good food.
The room was not entirely in order. The Wi-fi quality is poor, almost no signal in the room. Some rooms have poor view with a single small window pointing to the central hotel court, but you can ask to change the room if you don't like it.
Scenery from top roof restaurant Good location for interesting places in Istanbul Clean and cosy hotel
Poor/limited breakfast menu for international visitor
We loved the location of the hotel. Many great places to see even just outside of the hotel. Hotel is accessible to public transportation -- just walking distance from the tram.
- Excellent location in the old town, close to Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia etc. - Friendly and helpfull staff - The view from the breakfast restaurant is incredible
- If you like to sleep in (any later than 06.00), don't take a seaside room. You will be woken up by either the morning prayer from any of the several Mosques in close proximity or by the seagulls on the ledge outside your window.
Location location location. Also in the summer the roof terrace is probably used more. We would have loved to use it but they kept telling us it would be too cold to eat there even though we thought it was fine.
We booked the family suite. They did not tell us that one of the rooms the only bed was a sofa bed. This was very uncomfortable and we slept very very badly. Even my wife was able to touch both ends - it was very short and very hard. There were no reading lights, bedside tables etc with that bed either so really it was not a proper hotel bedroom. In addition, the window in that room only looked out onto the inner stairwell which at night had cigarette smoke so we couldn't keep the window open. The children's room had the view of a blank wall. With the exception of the bell hop and the man who helped move the beds, the rest of the staff were uncommunicative and unfriendly.
