The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us we had a very young baby with us they gave us 2 excellent rooms with lovely view breakfast was lovely
Fantastically helpful staff, amazing views from the breakfast terrace. Rooms are simple, clean and even have a cute balcony. Would highly recommend this hotel.
Located at the top of the old town you have easy access to all the bars & restaurants, taxi rank and supermarkets. The view from the roof terrace restaurant over Kalkan Bay is stunning and the food excellent. The owners and staff couldn't be more friendly and helpful.
Bathrooms in dire need of modernisation Noise from local bars too noisey even after midnight
My room overlooking the bay
This is a family run pension with the emphasis on a beautiful roof top restaurant with excellent food! It's very close to the beach and all amenities with a short walk uphill to the Otogar. The family is very kind and accommodating.
It was a little noisy in the evening with guests going up the stairs to the restaurant but since I know how amazing the food is I didn't let it bother me.
All the above
Kind staff Avarage breakfast
Weak wi-fi Not even hair drier in the rooms There was a very bad smell coming from the bathroom which we could not make it go away no matter what
The staff were very accommodating and helpful. The room was very clean. Plenty of hot water and clean towels upon request
There was nothing not to like. It was a basic functional room.
This was my first solo traveler escape and I realize now I couldn't have chosen better for myself: both the destination and the pension - the best price/quality ratio in Kalkan for one single person. Great location – traditional Turkish family owned business situated a couple of minutes from the city center. Great view – I could see the bay from my bed. Great food (I ate here breakfast & dinner) – you’ll find some of the best reviews for their restaurant (on the top terrace, above my room) on different sites. The staff was very friendly without being too intrusive. Clean – you could see the rooms were freshly painted and I had my room cleaned without asking for it; I wasn't expecting marble and I didn't mind the old shower fixtures (looked more authentic to me). I really wanted to go back again next month, but something came up and I have to postpone it for the next year. But I’m definitely going back for the next years.
Pleasant staff. Rooftop restuarant with lovely views over the bay and good food and wine. Easy walk into town.
We thought £35 was a bit pricey as there were no comforts in the room ie no hairdryer, no fridge plus TV didn't really work. Although someone did say we could have walked in off the street and got a cheaper rate!
Roof terrace was nice for breakfast. Good central location.
Uncurtained shower. Probably more suited to young travellers looking for low priced accommodation.
This is a small family run pension with attentive, friendly staff. Although the rooms are quite small the fantastic view from the balcony and roof top terrace across Kalkan Bay more than makes up for it. Very good traditional Turkish breakfast with as much tea or coffee as you can drink. Lunch and evening meals very good too. Would definitely stay there again.
The food was great and the location good
Rooms need updating and a good deep clean.
The owner was very attentive and helpful. Kalkan is very hilly but the Moonlight was high enough to see the view and low enough to be an easy walk to the town centre. The breakfast was typically Turkish which we were happy with but feel the owner would accommodate other tastes. Our room was quite big with on suite bathroom. The best part of the Moonlight is its rooftop terrace, whether having breakfast, dinner or just a coffee. The view is amazing both in the morning or after dark. If you want a basic room with value for money then the Moonlight is for you. If you want more than just a room to sleep then look elsewhere.
As we stayed in April this meant that the holiday season had not started. Due to some out of season building works taking place in the town, some of the workers were staying at the Moonlight, which meant we were woken by them getting up for work. However the season starts on the 1st May and no works are allowed to take place in Turkey after that date. However we would stay at the Moonlight again.
Cleanliness, No Towel Change or Room clean for 4.Nights and nobody on Reception to sort the problem out. Breakfast not provided there, we had to go next door but one for it. We booked the place for the views from the terrace which was not open. Definetely would not go back there it must be totally different in the summer season according to the reviews we had read before.
Everything was fine. The athmosphere of the small cosy pension is lovely. The window view is awesome. The staff speaks good English and easy to deal with. They let us have a very early breakfast, just let get into the kitchen and take everything we need by ourselves. Big thanks
The breakfasts on the roof terrace with a fantastic view over the bay were the highlight of our stay mid November, at temperatures around 23-24 degrees. Very friendly and welcoming owner. Our room had a nice sea view and a small balcony.
Clean, comfortable, and good location. Simple accommodations, with one of the most amazing breakfasts in Turkey. We loved sitting on the terrace enjoying the morning sun while enjoying a great meal.
This was my second time staying at the Moonlight Pension and both trips have been great. This time I took my parents who also really liked the pension. The staff were really friendly and helpful. This family-run business has a real welcoming feel to it.
Superb location in Kalkan
I had a wonderful view from my room, where I could sit and watch dusk falling over the harbour from my balcony. It was in an excellent location with walking distance to everything Kalkan can offer. The staff were very helpful, making me tea and letting me use their computer.
I did have to ask for the room to be cleaned, it didn't seem to be checked automatically.
nice staff- very nice view from the terrace
Great location with a view over the bay. Small room but extreamely welcoming. Friendly staff and also the food is great.
A 5 minute walk down the main hill rd from the bus station -once you reach the right street with all the shops and restaurants, turn right and only around 50 metres on the left of that street. The pension is a standard turkish pension. That means they also have an all in one bathroom with no show curtain, so everything, including the toilet gets wet when you have a shower. I had to smile a green artificial patch lawn to cover the drain pipe. The room I had, had twin beds which were comfortable as was the pillow. The rooms had wifi and tv and aircondtioning which was need as the days I was there it was 37-38 degrees. The bedroom door opens onto a small balcony where you can dry your swimming clothes. (Ps You wouldn't come to Kalkan for a beach (big stones are the beach and hard to walk on) or jump in from one of the sea front hotels decks (hire sunlounge 10tl)). When I arrived around 3pm there was no one on reception, so you ring the bell, but most times I came in and out, it was hard to find anyone to ask questions. One of the reasons I like staying in pensions is to talk to the staff, and reception is where you get the feeling of the place, so it didn't feel as good as other pensions for that reason. The floor on my room was not clean when I arrived (felt gritty when I took my shoes off and had dust on the bottom of my feet, as I found out when I put my feet on the bed), but the sheets and towels were very clean. The rooftop for breakfast was great and the breakfast is a big plate of traditional turkish food - toast, egg, tomatoes, cucumber, cheeses, olives, fruit. (Too much for me to eat).
Floor needed a better clean
