Awesome view to Bosforus and Golden Horn from the 401 room.
brilliant sea view and very comfortable bed and very friendly and helpful staff
erratic credit card machine meant paying up front in cash
The view on the see was nice. The personnel is very friendly. The location is perfect. 5 min on foot and we are on the sultanahmet square and Topkapi entrance. For sure, if I go back in Istanbul, I'll book the same hotel (with see view).
Lovely hotel in the very center of the Old city. Location, staff, facilities, everything was excellent. The room was small but neat. It would be pleasure for us to visit this hotel again!
Excellent location, always go for a room with a see view. Great rooftop terrace, you can see both Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. Walking distance from quite a lot of landmarks. The staff was great and very helpful, answering questions, giving us advice and directions on what to see where to go and anything we could think of.
Hotel was clean and staff are very friendly.
Location was a bit too far for my liking but that is reflected in the price.
We had a room at last floor and Wifi connection was perfect. A room with a huge window with a seaview was given to us for free, it's so nice of you guys)) Terrace wasn't working in feb. but it was open so you may have drinks there on your own. Staff is very friendly and helpful, location is perfect. Definitely would like to come there again :)
Breakfast was in the cafe outside, it was nice, and we knew it wasn't inside hotel, but still I prefer to have a breakfast in the same building.
Thank you...service and people were really nice and helpful.
Breakfast was very poor. In the room was very bad air (smelly).
The staff was incredibly helpful and booked our airport shuttle, Bosphorus cruise, and whirling dervish performance. The location really can't be beat. The room had a view of both the Hagia Sophia and the Blue Mosque. It was clean and comfortable. I highly recommend Hotel Mytra.
The bathroom was a bit cramped, but it really wasn't a big deal.
Everything!! l loved staying at Mytra Hotel. l do not like to stay at big hotels and l usually prefer to stay in this kind of small boutique hotel and The Mytra Hotel was absouletely one of the greatest l have ever stayed. The owner Murat is the most helpful person l have seen. He will definitely make sure that you are having good time and always recommend some nice and alternatives things to do in istanbul. The other staff and cleaning lady are very friendly and helpful too. The breakfast was awesome and the food at family restaurant was also the best we have tried in istanbul plus you get 10% discount. My room was small but very very comfortable and had eveything someone would need. The terrace is closed for food and drink service in winter but you can always go and take photos or sitdown if it is not cold for you! Overall l had a terrific stay and l will absolutely come back.
Everything was fine. It takes only few minutes to get to main historical sights fm the hotel. Hotel itself is rather small but enough comfortable wth good family atmosphere. Special thnks to Murat, very friendly and kind person.
Kinda tiny rooms, but good furnished. A great view on Bosphoros and neighbour poor roofs.
Location is perfect for those who want to go sightseeing (very near Topkapi Palace, Aya Sophia, Blue Mosque and Hurrem Sultan Hamami) and for those who want to go shopping to Kapalicarsi, which is also near. Also, hotel is within short walk of Sultanahmet Metro station which is connected to other sides of Istanbul. Cleanliness was perfect, with changing of towels every day. Chanells on TV were numerous, with lots of music channels. Nice surprise on the table of the room was a salver for tea making. Bathroom was very interesting decorated with excellent modern shower. The stuff in the hotel was very polite and helpful. Wi Fi was excellent. One advice: If you need a transfer to airports, use hotel service of booking transfer. All in all, incredible value for money.
Heating was a little under control, but the stuff was taking care of it, so this little problem didn't spoil my stay.
Our room was small but as we were only sleeping and showering there it did not matter. Bed (mattress and pillows and duvet) superbly comfortable for a good night's sleep. Excellent hot shower - decor throughout 5 star. Location within short walk of Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque and Topkapi. Small lift to all floors - flight of stairs to rooftop restaurant (which was not open) with views of mosquess and over Bosphorus. Kettle to make hot drinks in room much appreciated. Also small fridge in room for milk and drinks. Safe in wardrobe. Phone in room. All in all would highly recommend this hotel for its location, facilites and staff. English speaking receptionist and nothing too much trouble for owner/manager Murat and his staff. Didn't use wifi in hotel although did at the Babylonia over breakfast and connection excellent. Incredible value for money.
Had short walk to nearby Babylonia restaurant for breakfast each morning. Excellent food and service there though. No English channels on TV so could only use music channels for entertainment when we returned to room in evening. Only usable socket for recharging phone/camera battery etc was in bathroom. Minor inconveniences that did not spoil our stay.
Great location. Quiet. Helpful staff.
Very small room, cramped for two people. Main problem was that there was a strong smell coming from the drains.
The location is good The hotel is clean The staff where helpfull I fully recommend
Excellent rooms with sea view, you should try it once.
The location is excellent, as can be said about any hotel near Akbiyik cad.; The staff is really helpful and welcoming;
The owner, Murat, is very nice and helpful. The room was beautifully furnished with items from his hometown. The bathroom was in mint state and tastefully furnished.
The room was fine for one person, but it may be too small for a couple. There was some strange noise - maybe made by water running in the pipes - which could be annoying. I normally sleep with ear plugs, so it was not a big problem for me, but it could be a problem for those who are not used to it.
Overall the hotel was really nice. Excellent location! I would really recomend to stay here, if you want to see the town for a few days. All the Must-See are within 10 minute walk. Look from our room was fantactic. We got room on 4th floor. As we saw look from 3rd floor would also be fine, but below that - only construction site could be seen. It is really small hotel - only 9 rooms. If you won't ask for best look you most probably get the room with look to the street and the hotel on the other side. Rooms are small, but cosy. Stylish. One can feel that hotel is fresh and just after the costruction. It was quiet. There is amazing look from the roof top terace. The owner of the hotel works there, and the communication at place was fine.
What was a unplesant surprise was the e-mail from the hotel just two days befor arival. They had just (!) "discovered" that we don't want to live on the 1st floor and if we still want to stay at their hotel we will have to stay the first night on really cheap "backpack" hotel nearby and the other nights we will get good room at Mythra hotel. Since I hadn't ckeck my private email within that day and didn't answer, I received the next e-mail on day before arival that they are cancelling our booking (since we booked via booking.com they don't have credit card guaranties). I was so shoked and had to call them to explain that I don't check my private e-mail every day and that it is not adequate to cancel booking just a day before arival, and that they should had informed us earlier if there was some problem from their side. At the end of conversation everything worked out [we had to stay at that backpack hotel for the first night anyway :( ], but I'm still not fine with that menegment.
Great location: central but easy to find. Extremely friendly and helpful staff. Clean and quite spacious room.
stale smell in the bathroom
location very convenient to all major attractions of Istanbul, staff very helpful, breakfast although basic is at a nearby hotel restaurant in a nice location, maybe the best terrace restaurants serving dinner in Istanbul is on the top floor here
