Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. They provided complimentary transport to Ephesus. Breakfast was cozy and superb!
The staff were very attentive and friendly, even in low season. We are so grateful for the big umbrellas the proprietor loaned us for a very rainy sightseeing day. We would go back.
The hotel was very beautiful.
The staff were not helpful. Service need to be improved.
We really enjoyed our 2-night stay at Nilya Hotel during the Christmas time, which might be the quietest time to visit Selcuk. - Great traditional Turkish breakfast - Walking distance to Temple of Artemis, Basilica of St. John, Isa Bey Mosque - About 10 min drive to Ephesus (The hotel offers free drive to Ephesus and also lends you the guide book to explore the area in 3 hrs, then comes to pick you up. You don't need to book for any Ephesus tour.) - Excellent service overall (maybe because they were in pretty low season. Check out other reviews if you come during the popular summer.)
- We stayed in a triple room (Room 11) and the mattresses are so old that their springs created loud noise whenever we turned. - (Not from the hotel but from taxi drivers) We arrived at the bus station at close to midnight. Because it was our first time in Selcuk we took a cab to the hotel despite only 10 min walk, which we figured out later. We also later realized that the hotel is in a popular area, but the taxi driver had driven around for 15 mins trying to rip us off. So make sure you check the direction with the hotel before arriving.
the facility and all the typical ornaments, make the perfect ambiance. Congratulations and thank you Nilya.
Staff very helpful, pick up from train station. Take us to ephesus. and special dinner at Bella, sister's hotel.
I loved the beautiful courtyard with running water. I love the beautiful view from the balcony down the valley. I really enjoyed the breakfast, it was healthy and substantial. I loved the way that Nilya was decorated with great care and with lovely pieces of local craft. The room was very comfortable. The bathroom was great and the shower had good pressure. We were within walking distance of everything we wanted to see and the hotel was most helpful regarding getting to Ephasus and back. The owners and the staff were very helpful and we spent a lovely three days in Selcuk.
Really nothing to mention.
The staff was wonderful, very welcoming and caring and relationship driven. We felt very special throughout our stay and the hotel was very charming and provided a relaxing atmosphere after a long day of sight seeing.
Everything was great, no negative experiences at all.
The owner, Erdal was so helpful and welcoming! We had dinner at the rooftop restaurant of the sister hotel, Bella and the fish was some of the best I've had anyway. It was well prepared and very fresh. The Nilya is charming with tribal rugs and ceramics in every room.
The hotel is located in a quiet street close to the ruins on the hill. The outdoor area is wonderful with nice smelling lemon trees and a small fountain. Rooms are comfortable. The staff received us very well and gave us an introduction to the area. A very good thing is the free transport to the Efes ruins.
This room was decirated very well with a nice but small bathroom, an in room couch and additional sitting area on the covered lanai. Breakfast was very good. The walk to St. John's Basilica is just 2 blocks. There are good restaurants and shops within walking distance of the hotel. They also did laundry for us very reasonably.
The bed was a bit hard as was the couch and outside furniture. Some throw pillows would have helped greatly to make the furniture more comfortable.
Good choice for Selcuk/Ephesus. The hotel is nice and most importantly clean. Given a free ride to and back from Ephesus as well as a book providing additional information.
The very personal welcome by the owner who knew our first names as soon as we arrived. Comfortable room and good recommendation for roof top dinner at their partner hotel.
We used their sister hotel about 2-3 blocks away for dinner on the roof. The Nilya had a lovely breakfast on their patio.
Staff willingness to help us. Proximity to ruins of St Johns Basilica. And of course Ephesus
Difficulty in finding hotel ....no signs etc. Having to put used toilet paper in Receptacle ....which would be the same for other hotels in area.
nice decoration, free shutle bus to Ephusus at 3pm
No free water, not good at sound insulation, simple breakfast, no restaurant at hotel, no TV at room
The rooms were well appointed and beautifully furnished with Turkish flair. The outdoor courtyard was very charming as well. The breakfast service was very nice and served with style. The sister hotel Bella had good simple dinners to fit all tastes and the upstairs Resturant lounge and Resturant was also well appointed.
Very beautiful hotel rooms with delicate decorations and a nice courtyard. Staff are quite helpful Quiet neighborhood
Good if there is a hairdresser in the room.
the staff are helpful and the setting is delightful
The room decor was of a classical turkish style which was an excellent touch. Breakfast was served in a courtyard which was really pleasant and different. The staff were very helpful and when we arrived they invited us to join them for a free drink whilst they showed us a map of the area and the attractions. There was no attempt to sell us anything or even recommend a particular shop. They had a shuttle laid on to take us to Ephesus which made the trip very easy They even warned us about not buying fake antique coins.
The access to the hotel is a bit of a backstreet.
Best shower EVER!! Large, fantastic water pressure and plenty of hot water. Loved the rain shower head. Large room and bed. No issues with connecting to the internet. Lovely courtyard and breakfast was really good. Courtesy shuttle to Ephesus was greatly appreciated. Easy walk from the bus station and eateries are within 5 minutes. I was there for one night but I really enjoyed my stay. Staff were very nice.
My room was under the balcony of the second storey which make it quite dark but only an issue if I had planned to stay in my room during the day.
Welcoming & charming host & helpful staff, Ottoman styling furniture & decor, walled courtyard & balcony landing, fresh breakfast & use of sister hotel Bella restaurant just round the corner. Excellent value & bathroom shower.
Being picky, no tea/coffee/water in room, quaint but not very secure door locks,
Nilya Hotel—what a fantastic experience. My wife and I recently stayed there for four days during a vacation through Turkey. The building is absolutely beautiful, with a lushly landscaped courtyard entrance and impeccably decorated rooms that include Turkish tile inlays. Plus, the hospitality is incredible. Nazmi pays personal attention to all his guests, from arranging tours and rental cars to helping with future travel within Turkey. He really goes above and beyond. His and the rest of the staff’s generosity is truly astounding. The location is fantastic—just down the road from St. John’s Basilica and away from the central bustle of Selcuk—and Nazmi offers a free, twice-daily shuttle service to Ephesus for guests. Plus, from the hotel’s second floor, you get a gorgeous view of the surrounding hill-laden landscape. The Turkish breakfast, included in the price of your room, is delicious and wonderful to enjoy next to the pleasant bubbling of the courtyard’s fountain. Also, the dinner at their sister hotel Bella is delicious and comes with a beautiful nighttime view of the neighboring castle and town. Really, I can’t think of how another place in town could even rival Nilya Hotel. To Nazmi and the staff, thanks so much for everything! Keep up the great work!
Truly cannot think of any. Maybe stronger Wi-Fi?
I especially liked being taken to Ephesus and picked up when finished touring. Very helpful owner. Good food in the restaurant also.
Room size was very small
