Quaint and historical old ottoman building with lovely courtyard. Staff were amazingly friendly and helpful. Rooms were of a reasonable size and furnished well. Bathrooms new and very clean. Valet service for car was prompt and efficient.

One of the 2 rooms we booked had severe mould and damp on the wall, smelt terrible. No internet on the top floor (floor 2 . rooms 201/202) Location not suitable for unaccompanied female travellers. Courtyard could have done with a clean

The staff were friendly, the breakfast was good and the breakfast room was pleasant. The bedroom was clean but very basic for the price in comparison to other hotels availablle in the area.

We reserved a suite, advertised as overlooking the courtyard, and the availability of the suite was the main reason that we booked this hotel. When we checked in the room was not a suite, and was very basic with a tiny bathroom. It dıdn't overlook anything other than a small fire escape at the back of the hotel. The hotel advised us that the suite that they had was not heated and it would be very cold. There was no hot water in the bathroom, and the solution was to let the shower and taps run for at least 20 minutes until some hot came through.

Very pleasant inside the hotel -- the room had plenty of space and was new and comfortable. and the staff was very helpful altho several were not overly fluent in english

The street in front of the hotel was narrow, crowded and covered with litter -- walking back to the hotel at night was not comfortable.

The hotel was for the price good value for money. It was situated near to all the old town market areas so was good for shopping. The hotel was clean.

The hotel was situated a a very poor area with no modern bars or restaraunts in its location, and I would not advise single femail travelers to stay in this district. The buffet breakfast was also poor.

Location was within or bordered bazaar and was somewhat dingy, so that the street the hotel was on was not physically inviting.

Even if the staff claimed problems with our reservation as an excuse for selling our room to other guests before our arrival, they were very helpful and nice (and provided a room for our first night in a nearby hotel of similar standard). The hotel's interior is old fashioned but kept clean. Surrounding area is surprising but very interesting if you want to see something else than the large boulevards of Alsancak area. We appreciated this glimpse into Turkey further away from common tourist destinations. Finally, this hotel is very close to the bazaar.

People smoking in the courtyard where breakfast is served. But acting against smoking is of course a Sisyphus task in a country where 40% of adults are tobacco users.

I was staying there for 4 nights (becouse of my eyes-Lasik operation ). The hotel is a very old building and has its own personality flair, especially because it stands out from the normal standard-hotel. In the middle of the hotel there is a very beautiful and peaceful garden courtyard and you can spenr in it your time any time of day. Over more you can enjoy yourself in it every time , so just do relax, to chill and something like that (for example reading a book, have something to drink and have dinner as well). In the evening there is offered a variety of delicious dishes of Turkish national menu. The room facilities are quite useful (corresponding to a 3 * hotel of the country's category class) and it is also more or less comfortable set up (just according to the different individual claims/wishes of the foreign guest)! Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I would like to express my gratitude for their extraordinary hospitality and my gratitude is due to hotel manager and his staff (in particular, the young man from the reception, which came towards me occurring every time and very helpful with all my concerns during my attendance!!! I would just recommend the hotel to every one, especially to who would like to stay in a hotel wich is closed to the city center, but is reluctant to spend their vacation in a normal standard hotel. Actually nothing!!

The staff were friendly and helpful. The receptionist spoke English. The hotel offered transportation to Izmir Airport. The kitchen staff prepared a delicious dinner for us and specially prepared a 5:00am breakfast for us just before we departed for the airport.

The Antikan Hotel offered us just what we needed for an overnight stay as we transferred from intra-Turkey bus service to a next day international flight. Speaking a few words of Turkish and feeling comfortable as the only English-speaking persons at the hotel were situations with which we felt comfortable.

To arrive on a hot day and enter the shady courtyard straight off a lively street was very welcome and calming. We were only there for 1 night and had to leave at 3am. The very helpful staff made breakfast especially for us and arranged transport to the airport. Location near the bazaar was ideal.

Our room was just off the courtyard and sometimes I expect it may get noisy there but it was fine for us.

Sehr zentrale Lage - direkt am Basar. Zuvorkommendes und freundliches Personal.

Sehr einfach ausgestattete Zimmer, die dringend renovierungsbedürftig sind. Wenn das Hotel voll belegt ist und das Wetter es zuläßt, wird sicherlich der Innenhof stark genutzt werden und es kann dadurch zu Störungen kommen.

Lage, 7 Minuten zu Fuß bis zum Basar.

Das Zimmer ist sehr klein. Mit dem Auto ist es schwer zu finden.

Het personeel was écht gewéldig vriendelijk, behulpzaam en gastvrij.. Toen we dit hotel in Izmir niet konden vinden ondanks TomTom, is er een personeelslid naar ons toe komen lopen en heeft ons met onze auto naar het hotel gebracht!! Prima WiFi, gratis parking op loopafstand, kamer was schoon, lekker ontbijtbuffet.. Prijs zeer laag. Kortom chapeau..! Als we ooit weer naar Izmir gaan, zullen we zéker weer in dit hotel overnachten. Das Hotel befindet sich in der Altstadt. Dadurch erspart man sich lange Wege mit den öffentlichen Verkehrsmitteln. Das Hotel hat einen Parkservice und das ist supi. Wir haben unser Auto zur Ankunft abgegeben und zur Abreise unversehrt zurückbekommen. Das Zimmer zum Hinterhof war zwar klein aber dafür ganz ruhig. Klasse war auch, dass man sich jederzeit an den warmen Getränken bedienen konnte. Englisch war selbstverständlich.
