Perfect location, close to everything and next to a street with quality resteaurants. And still quiet and pleasant. Terrasse on the roof, a small garden, comfortable beds and clean and well kept. The breakfast is simple but perfect, and the coffee and youghurt can be recommended! Value for money and helpful staff. Every room is named after an ancient poem and we enjoyed every moment! Good choice for your Istanbul experience!!

A nice building, friendly reception staff, adequate Turkish-style buffet breakfast, very comfortable bed. Very easy to get a taxi. In a word - noise! If you are road-side you will hear very clearly the conversations of any late night revellers as they return from the many nearby bars and restaurants - it may be better on the non road side.

Very friendly people, nice and tidy room, excellent location. It is a bit like staying with a family. We very much liked it there, in Summer it must be awesome to sit on the terrace with view on the Sea and huge boats passing. Was a bit too cold for this when we were there, but they have a lovely breakfast area where you sit like in a heated pavilion. Rooms go to a quiet backyard, or a quiet side street. However, any noise within the house is well heard in the room. Luckily there was not much of it, just a squeaky entry door. They have this thing with plastic flowers on the tables in the breakfast room - but beautiful flowers on terrace.

A sweet little hotel, with wonderful front desk staff, clean rooms, an excellent location, and even a gorgeous cat lounging in the lobby. This place was recommended to me by a friend, and I have already recommended it to other friends. I intend to visit Istanbul again soon, and will book my room at Hotel Poem.

Lovely hotel very close to three biggest tourist attractions. Short walk to tram stop. Surrounded by restaurants. Cold when we visited in jan/feb but hotel hot and rooms very clean and comfortable. Great staff always willing to help. Chair in room would be nice even if some rooms quite small.

Very friendly and responsive staff, good price for very clean rooms within 7 to 10 minutes easy walk of Hagia Sofia, Topkapi Palace and Blue Mosque. Good simple breakfast with choices and as much as you want. We had taxi collect from hotel and take us to further sights-very cheap and easy. We were there when it was snowing but hotel was very warm and air conditioning (hot or cool) was not needed.comfortable beds and rooms all seem to be reconditioned in main block with reception and roof-top terrace for warmer weather. Great views from terrace and front views from some rooms to Bosphorus. I was given good sized twin room for single use at no extra charge. Staff very helpful with directions, calling taxis and advice generally. Some limited English speaking tv channels.

Great welcome and attentiveness by consistently friendly and helpful staff. Good, well-mainted and clean facilities. Excellent location. Would definitely recommend to others and would stay again. I'm not used to sleeping in a standard double bed (with my husband!) and consequently, didn't sleep too well. Would opt for twin room next time. Room quite small but outweighed by location.

I liked the architectural design of the hotel, that it was old and had a history, the shady terrace, the comfortable bed and well-designed bathroom, the smallness, the type of guests staying there and of course the location.

The location of the hotel is great, within a few minutes walk to the major sites, and about a 15 minute walk to the Tramway which is very convenient and will take you to other major sites and areas around the city. This is a small, sweet hotel where the staff are nice and helpful, the rooms and public areas are clean, and the rate is fair. The hotel is located off a main street with plenty of restaurants and bars -- although I would recommend exploring other parts of the city for places frequented by local residents as the establishments on this street are filled with tourists. Still, its convenient to have choices close by. The breakfast was adequate, not great. Be sure to get to breakfast on the earlier side as dishes don't seem to get replenished, although to be fair I didn't ask for anything that had run out -- I just chose other items. The rooftop terrace has nice views of the water, but it is not high enough for views of the Blue Mosque, etc.

The view from the roof top. Neat, well appointed room. Nice breakfast. Aircon was not working. Had to ask 3 times before it was looked at but they could not get it to work. Very noisy night as we couldn't close the window.

“Extremely friendly and helpful staff, always ready to provide advice and assistance. Breakfast choices were very extensive, everthing from eggs to sliced meat to yoghurt to olives to fresh honey to cereal to fruit. Location probably could not be better: nearly every major tourist site was within a 20 minute walk, so there is little or no need to worry about public transportation, although it too is nearby.” Charles, Waterloo |
