Great location Helpful staff
Broken toilet seat No lift
They let us leave after one night without paying for the other two nights
We booked this accomidation as the photos looked excellent for the price. My friends arrived first and I got a message whilst in the cab - 'you get what you pay for.' I thought, it can't be that bad...we arrived to the reception telling us there was an error and someone must sleep in the broom cupboard next to reception, I said no, and after a few minutes of arguing we walked to the room. We were greeted by a giant rat at our ancient, dusty staircase, we believe him to be security as the doors had no locks. We entered the room, and we found a double bed, and 2 couches for 5 people. We quickly made the decision to leave the next morning. Within the room we found large varieties of cockroach eggs, rat excrements, broken doors, smashed wardrobes, nails sticking out of furiture, a smashed window so that the rat security can check up on us and a bathroom that smelt that bad we all feared using it in fear of catching a disease. Overall I would of rather slept on the floor in the grand bazaar in a pile of camel feces than be within 2km of this hotel.
Location was good!
Dirty, dirty! Old and outdated. Lights didn't work, air conditioner leaked, ceiling leaked. Carpets dirty and wood floors creaked, uneven. Shower head broken and leaked. We knew we weren't getting a five star hotel but never expected this. When we asked the owner for a reduction in the rate after dealing with one move to a different room, water on our heads in the middle of the night due to leaking roof and air conditioner, he refused and was unapologetic. I hope no other family had to experience this.
The Hotel staff were very accommodating and as soon as our room was ready we could check in a bit earlier. They helped us when we could not work our aircon (which worked wonderfully and cooled the room down). On our return to Istanbul we had no where to leave our bags and they let us leave them with them and even helped us with transport to the airport on very late notice!!! Great central location to all the sites was so easy to walk around everywhere!!
We stayed at the top so was a walk, but they help you carry your bags! The shower was a bit squeaky and cramped but we stayed for one night and was all we needed. Maybe a longer stay you would want more from it.
The room mas too small
breakfast was okay and staff friendly
awful family flat without curtains so we were awake very early. not very clean and crammed with bulky useless furniture leaving hardly any place to move.
only the location. We were moved to "Grand seigneur old city hotel" so my review is not for this hotel.
dirty/smelly/breakfast was so poor and dishes were very dirty.
Good location. Great breakfast. Large, quiet family room.
Our family of five arrived in the early evening to a room that had not been cleaned. It was filthy. We asked the staff to clean the room while we went to dinner. It was not done. Later we made two more trips to the desk asking for help. At ten pm two young men came to clean the room and change the linens. Frustrating as it was our last night in Istanbul and the hotels booked through booking.com had been good.
Location is perfect.
The staff wanted to charge money for accomodation twice.
The best thing about the hotel is its location. its a friendly real neighborhood where every place is easily accessible, from blue mosque to hagia sofia to topkapi, every place is at a stone's throw. The staff is very good, especially Dayyar. everyone is very helpful at the hotel. all tours and cruise were arranged right from the reception. the rooms are neat and tidy.
The Hotel was OLD and dirty, the door frame in our room had separated from the wall, there were fleas in the room, we were only given one towel, the staircase needs attention as this is a safety hazard. The staff were willing but ineffectual. We certainly would not recommend this Hotel
Near to all attractions, near tram stop. Allowed us to check in early. Our flight at night reception kind enough to allowed us to store luggage so that we can continue exploring Istanbul.
Family Room has 2 bathroom but too small for a family of 6 to move around in room. We are muslim and need some space to perform our jemaah prayers but no space. Lamp of one room not working. Hotel no lift.Sink clogged. Shower drain slow drain almost clogged. Fridge not cold. No cups to make tea coffee although there is kettle. No space to put luggage.
The location was fantastic and the front desk staff was nice.
We were putnin a room down the street rather than in the hotel. This was not mentioned when booking the hotel. This was the "family economy room" but the room description was not accurate. The room did notnhave wi-fi as promised in the description and our son had to sleep on a couch with a sheet on it rather than a bed. The room was not cleaned one day, two days we weren't given enough towels, and one day our friend's room was left unlocked after cleaning. The door to the bathroom was dirty and so was the floor next to the bed.
Our room was not available and We've waited 3 hours then they gave us one room two rooms in the hotle and one room in other hotle ! So , half of the family in the hotle and the other half in another hotle ! - There was no electricity in one of the rooms .! It was hot to sleep .
Location was great and breakfast was tasty. Staff was friendly and helpful.
There was a missing shower door and toilet seat was broken. Duvet was stained and wallpaper fixed with tape.
Very good location, good price, friendly staff.
Our room was not available in time of arrival, even we had a reservation via booking.com. We booked 2 separate rooms but only 1 big room was available for all of us. We were not happy, but finally we agreed on compensation from the hotel side and everything was ok.
Lokasinya yang cukup dekat dengan beberapa destinasi wisata di istanbul
Family room yang terletak di lantai bawah tanah dengan tangga yang curam cukup menyulitkan bagi tamu yang berusia lanjut
Location. It was near spice bazaar, which was really convenient because we had some last minute shopping to do.
The staff overpromising that we could get our room in an hour, which turned out to be 2 hours and almost messed up our plans for the day.
We stayed here for 7 days with a group of 6. Wonderful staff, very kind and helpful. Clean towels were supplied daily. Room was cleaned daily. Perfect location in a fairly calm street with some touristic shops, only a 5-minute walk from the main square in Sultanahmet and a 2-minute walk from the tramstation Gülhane. Seeing all the negative reviews we were a bit worried at first, but all I can say is: don't expect the quality of a 5-star hotel for a price this low. The staff is always happy to resolve any problems. A big thanks to Mehmet and the rest who helped us out with a lot of things. We would happily stay here again.
