Hotel Zagreb features a top-floor pool with a retractable roof and a traditional hammam. Situated a 10-minute tram ride from Grand Bazaar, it offers air-conditioned rooms with a private balcony.

Only 320 yards from the Blue Mosque, Hotel Coliseum is an 8-minute walk from Hagia Sophia and Basilica Cistern. There is a 24-hour front desk and free Wi-Fi is accessible in all areas.
Score from 338 reviews Excellent
The Santa Sophia is in the heart of the historic center of Istanbul and many famous sights such as the Blue Mosque, Grand Bazaar and Topkapi Palace are within walking distance.
Score from 538 reviews Good
Hotel is within walking distance to the interesting places in Istanbul. Close to the tram station providing cheap and conveniant transport. Coffe machine available whole day free of charge. Friendly personnel but only few communicate in English.
First offered family room definitely was not 35m2 as advertised. View was to the ugly street. Soudproofing is a bad joke. It was easily heard sounds as cars, cats mieuwing(plenty in the area), dogs, peoples, muezzins calls, etc. Looks that room was builded by drunken builders, but in islamic country?! Hygiene and clean level is below european standards. Slippers, minibar and safety deposit box it is only in the advertisement-not detected in the room. Cold bathroom without heating and bad ventilation.
The room wasn't soundproof
cooperative staff place
shampoo tea electric connection sockets not all working including the tabllamps.
Brekfast was good
The (low) lights in the room
Helpful staff Spacious rooms - family rooms can fit a double and 3 singles easily Excellent powerful shower AC in the rooms Location good - near to both Aksaray metro station (taking you into Sultanahmet) & also Yenikapi metro (taking you to Taksim) Plenty of shops, eating places nearby, taxi rank outside - even a HSBC Not too touristy
Rooms are basically clean to the standard of a 3 star Wi-fi is a bit temperamental Need to pay in advance for your stay (but maybe this is the case for all hotels) Breakfast is not that great
I've booked at Grand Sagcanlar for each of my 4 visits to Istanbul for largely the same reasons: location to everything I care about is EXCELLENT! I'm a walker and prefer to roam Istanbul on foot, so it's proximity to the sea, shopping, restaurants, buses, metro, trolleys, all historic sights, museums, etc. can't be beat. The staff knows my face now, and do all they can to make sure I have what I need. Few speak English and are able to give advice, where to go for shoes, leather, etc. They are helpful always and make my stay there enjoyable.
Though the area is a bit dicey at night, in truth, I've never felt unsafe, though for solo women, it might be a caution. Getting a room toward the back where it is quieter is more expensive! The traffic noise takes some getting used to, and it just hard on the ears for a sound sleep. Also, I don't know if it's the carpeting or ???? but there is a noticeable odor to the place....not terrible, but some serious disinfectant could eliminate it permanently. I've read other threads that mention the same thing, so it needs to be called to management's attention.
It's position near restaurant and taxi satation Staff can speak Arabic
Poor cleaning Noisy actually very noisy
Bathrooms must be cleaner.
The location was good. Taxi was available right after you exit the hotel. Everything was close nearby especially food. The staff was quite friendly. The breakfast was excellent. The hotel was clean and put together.
The hotel doesn't have an ironing facility which was quite troublesome for us. And there were quite a few plugs available. The staff needs to learn a little more English so its easier to communicate.
Breakfast was good
Some bad smell in one of the rooms from bathroom
For me, being a true walker, it is close to everything; water front park, shopping, metro, buses to everywhere, good cheap places to eat, and wonderful seafood restaurants close by, a 10 minute walk to the tram line. Admittedly the daily breakfast fare is boring, but good enough to get you started for the day. The desk staff have some English, the servers-NONE.
Being a single man, I've never experienced problems with the dicey crowd just down the street, but the location is good for all the reasons I just stated. Better to stay in at night and not wander the streets, not that you'd have anything to worry about,...just be safer is all. Too many people out to worry.
Dirty carpet, basic breakfast, smelly room, not good room service, no tea and coffee in the room, not confy beds, and many more
location is ok. It was helped me to move easy. Hotel staff also nice and helping always.
No single english channels in TV. Bathroom to be upgraded.
Very helpful front desk staff.Spoke English. Arranged airport and tour bus pickup. Arrived very late but was helped very quickly and offered a delicious cup of tea. Very well situated for metro, bus, ferry and tram. Very nice cheap places to eat nearby. News stands nearby sell and upload Istanbul kart for travel. Pedestrian bridge across busy street helps with easy access to metro station. Staff arranged for electric kettle and cups for tea making in the room. Room has a flat screen TV. Hotel has a upgraded lobby and breakfast room. Hotel has a storage facility for luggage which helped us greatly because we were booked on a tour which departed at 10 pm.
Suggestions: * a small safe in the room for valuables * copies of metro and bus services(maps)
Friendly staff - location
The hotel needs really a good renovation. Everything is very old and in some cases unclean, even you may see holes in your bed sheets; I admit I observed a very poor quality compared to European standards.
Only the wifi was good, staff were ok
It was not clean at all
I like the Hotel It is very convienent location, walking distance to near restaurant hotel stuff are very nice very knowldgable helping to coustomer in every way nice SpecialyMr. Razzak young man.
Only thing I did not like bugs in the dining room in breakfast serve area. Please take care of that, otherwise your hotel is perfect
Location is good, breakfast was very good. The room was clean and staff is helpful. Very good price.
Noise from other guests in late hours.
Breakfast; Size of room;
Bathroom needs upgrade; Staff pushes you daily tours even when you say you are not interested;
The staff there is always welcoming and went out of their way to make sure all was OK, even by upgrading my room with a better view. Most all have enough English to help out. The location, for me at least, is good because it's right on the bus line, close to the sea for the ferries, and 5 min. walk to the tramway. At night, it's probably better to stay inside; not that I had any problems, but the streetlife was a bit dicey for my tastes. Good cheap places to eat were very close by, too.
The electrical configuration for lights, plug-ins for computer use are not good, so I had to use an extension cord for all, which they gave me. As in all hotels, plugs are few and this is an inconvenience for charging phone, laptop, etc. Only 2 in the room!
The staff is very friendly and helpfull.
Wi-Fi didn't work at the 5th floor.
Breakfast was very good. The room was clean.Very good price.
We had to pay at our arrival.
All was ok, from personal to location and services!
The hotel is OK. The staff try hard and are friendly
We booked a room with a seaview, however, the room was extremely small and the door didnt lock. The staff seemed to know about these problems and happily changed us to the standard room, which are much bigger. The breakfast was rubbish and wifi internet slow and unreliable.
