In a 19th-century Ottoman mansion, this boutique hotel is only a 3-minute walk from Sultanahmet Square. It features a terrace café overlooking the Sea of Marmara, and has air-conditioned guest rooms.
Score from 46 reviews Excellent
Sure price of the hotel rooms is very democratic. But the most important here is location. We didn't need any buses to reach the most popular historical places in this area: Sultanahmet mosque, Sofya church, grand bazar. And breakfast was good also. From the terrace we could see Marmara sea.
Location. Mosque Sultanahamed is 10 min walking. Tram station "Sultanahmed" 12 min walking.Food magazine 15 min walking. To hamam 20 min. Grand bazzar 20 min. In hotel was enough good breakfast(4 varieties of cheese, 2 varieties meat, black&green olives, cucumber, tomato, eggs, fruits, cakes, dried fruits, juice, yogurt ). In room was nice design, very comfortable beds, a lot of pillows. Little fringe for your meal. Every day room was cleaned well, towels every day was changed. Wi-Fi, TV, hair dryer. Balcony were you can look into streets, roofs, very nice!
Our company had 2 rooms. One of them in toilet didn't worked flush (was watering pot & you must flush water itself). In bathroom not good smell of water. You can't drink it. Few days wasn't hot water, so no shower after long day... Some days was cold in room. In one room was only one light (like 5 watts) you can't see normal yourself in mirror, and we can't read... Sometimes you can smell cigarette smoke in room. In staircase was very cold & wind. One of room one day wasn't lock after cleaning.
Conditions of room were horrible.
- good location close to the historical sights - plenty of restaurants to eat nearby - good interior in the rooms, comfy beds - breakfast was good, served at a top terrace - Wi-Fi is fast and it is available everywhere in the hotel. The best I've seen in Turkey.
- had to switch rooms, because in our room the heating was not working and there was no hot water, the other room was outside the hotel itself. - a bit too noisy - some bits and pieces in the bathroom were falling off, needed repair.
There are ceiling leaks. and must be repaired. Tq...
Clean, pleasant-helpful staff behind the counter. Though some cant speak English but effort was made.
Walls were a little bit too thin ... noise from outside was UNCOOL especially when it was my first stop in Istanbul and i needed more rest after my first night there
I will never visit this hotel again! Receptionist was very rude. Poor service!!!
Price, Location, Facilities, free Wifi, relaxed staff
Smell in bathroom, small room, noisy
Rooms are so dirty, the toilete is so old and smells awful...The staff is not very polite, but not bad. Do not recommend this hotel
small room, noisy
Nothing is good actually
The location is hard to find, even local people couldn't find it, the owner or the recipetion guy were horriblely unfriendly, the room had a strongly weird bleach smell, and no blanket, no fresh air, air condition didn't work, bathroom was considerably unbearable, everything is old, dirty, the worst I have been living in Istanbul.
The room was not very well cleaned!!!
Location quite good, just 10 min by walk.Traditional turkish breakfast(cheese, homemade pastry, cold meat) was nice and tasty.Hotel staff very helpful.
Unfortunately when we arrived we 've got a room in the basement. There was very bad smell and tiny bathroom ((( But we're asked to change our room and another one was nice and cosy.
The sitings were very good. Nice neighborhood. The terass was really good.
The breakfast was not the best i´ve had. We were a couple of people who ate breakfast the last day at our stay and 6 of us had food poison because we all ate the eggs.
You get what you pay for. I followed other reviews on booking.com and from them I thought that it was a decent place to stay. The reviews were better than my experience. The room that we were put on the first night was just not acceptable. Next day we were moved to another room that was better, but still below standard I was expecting from reviews. Next time I would rather pay more and go somewhere else.
Nice staff Good price Nice terrace Mediocre breakfast
The rooms are quite ok for Istanbul standards, the price was ok. If you need a nice and cheap place to stay during your visit it will do.
The bathroom is small and smells of mold, the hotel is in a back alley, a good 10 min walk from Agia Sofyia but not close to any mode of transport. So you need to walk a bit. They tend to overbook and when we arrived our room was taken so we were housed in a smaller, worse hotel until check out the next day. Wasted half a day just with that. The breakfast is among the most simplest I have seen. No omelet or anything hot, just cold dishes. But you can fill your appetite. THE HOTEL HAS A DIFFERENT ADDRESS THAN SHOWN ON GOOGLE MAPS.
Pushy manager. Due to electrical maintanance works our room was no available so we had to move to rooms located in another hotel. Poor brekfast.
Location, close to main attractions
Sewage problems causing a not pleasant smell. Hotel has rooms in other building, rooms which I can't recommend.
Perfect location in downtown (tourist attractions, shopping and cheap dining possibilities within walking difference) Friendly, helpful staff
Firstly we received a moldy, dark room in the basement, secondly a run-down, loud one on the groundfloor
location. very close to historical sites. wi-fi and breakfast were good.
They changed my room.
Rooftop breakfast was ok. Location in Sultanhamed was good.
The location of the hotel in GoogleMaps or OpenStreetmaps is wrong. We arrived very late at night and we were first designated a room in a different building. That room was small, not very clean, with several flying bugs, just one plug (in the bathroom), a not working tv, and certainly not what we hoped for when we booked. In the mourning we were moved to the main building. The second room we got was on the lower floor, and we had under our window (facing a wall) an AC machine (not for our room) that worked most of the night making difficult to fall asleep. The bathroom could be improved, the screen protecting the shower was too small, making impossible not to wet the whole bathroom after using it. The bidet looked made for kids, it stood very close to the ground away from the normal standards.
The hotel is pseudo-exclusive. Correlation between the rooms and their pictures is poor. The owner of the hotel gave impression of a conman and his behaviour was too offensive. Bathroom was extremaly stinky!
The staffs was kind and helpful. Almost all of the staffs was able to communicate in English which I believe is very important. Breakfasts was just nice with many options and a dining room with a nice and great view of the sea (and some old buildings). Strategically the location was quite satisfying as it was very close to shopping areas and some historical places..
I was surprised with the guy in the reception insisted me to pay the hotel fee even before check in !! I found his attitude very impolite and rude!!! Two beds out of three in our room was too old which their springs was about to came out .. it was very uncomfortable, even after I request them to change the bed, they did not pay attention and we had to use the bed for rest of our stay. Cleaning of the room was good but bathrooms could be cleaned better!.
Prime location ,friendly staff but language problem, breakfast so tasty
