A family run, caring, helpful hotel. Me and my girlfriend are very particular but would not hesitate to stay there again.
Rooms were smallish but very clean and suitable.
The staff are excellent, funny and friendly. They really made us laugh and enjoy ourselves. Relaxing atmosphere and the pool area is lovely. Great value for money. This is a hidden jem.
Having to leave such a great place behind and saying to goodbye to Dan, Ali, the boys and Zoltan the cat.
Good breakfast Clean Rooms
Old Building Too much middle age family oriented, not so good for young visitors (so do the town itself) Far from beach (walking distance though)
wi-fi swimming pool location
food beach is far from the hotel bar is too expensive
Very good value for the money, helpful staff
A bit far from the city centre, 30 min by dolmus
The room was spacious, with big bathroom and huge walk-in shower. Nice pool area, and drinks and soft-drinks sold at very reasonable price. The wifi signal always easy to connect with. Walking distance to beach and restaurant. Good quality breakfast, even if with no possibility of choice/no daily variations.
This hotel would deserve an higher rating, but unfortunately they did an unforgivable overbooking with our pre-paid room. This is not acceptable when you pay the room in advance. The hotel manager tried to solve that emergency accomodating us for 2 nights out of 5 in an ugly and dirty hotel nearby. Furthermore, watch out of the beach: it's just a narrow stripe of dark sand, packed with hundreds of sunbeds per squared metre, and with Turkish traditional and dance music pumped all day long! Probably our worst beach ever.
The room was nice
The hotel was nice and we choose it one beacause of the breakfast. But the breakfast was so poor. It seems that the owner want to cut costs, and it's not nice((
We like the position of the hotel
1) They give us a room ,like a prison, under the base land 3metres ,probably it was a room not legal. 2)We had closed a triple economy room ,and we slept in a room with 2 beds and 1 bed (which seemed like bed) ,in which no human being could sleep 3)The room was so dirty 4)Even ,it was booked a room no sponking ,we founs meny pieces of smoked cigarettes 5)The room ,it was with many destroyes accessories
We needed a room for the night in Ortakent. The bed was big and comfortable. The room and bathroom have been decorated to a very high standard. The pool looked very nice and breakfast was good. The staff were friendly and helpful. I would stay again.
We really enjoyed staying here. Rooms and toilets are new and spacious. Pool is also good and big enough. Owner of the hotel, Unal is so helpful and friendly. He responded very fast to our requests. I would definitely choose this hotel when I arrive Bodrum again.
The hotel was perfect for us.It was small with free parking with a lot of space also it had easy access to the center of Bodrum with the buses. The staff was friendly and made you feel like home (specialy Dogan) and really helpful.I also loved the frozen beer at the poolbar and the dinner more than the expected (mediterranean cousin mostly). Allthough there was no boufe in the breakfast but it was really tasty and with a variety of mediterrenean foods).
As the area was full of orange and lemon trees there were many mosquitos so it's nessesary to take protection.
Loved being in Ortakent near beaches, a bit more local flavours. Dan the man barman!
It's a family run place and you can tell that they value their business and their customers. Attention to detail is very good, the hotel is spotless, food was very nice and beautifully presented, extremely large rooms and bathrooms finished to a high standard. Pool area was spotless and sunbeds usually empty and very comfortable. The whole hotel is run very professionally and to a very high standard. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend it.
Ortakent is quite small and the beach is very narrow meaning that the beds are rather crammed in. Quite a lot of restaurants but quite expensive and not much to explore in terms of local restaurants hidden away and not many shops. Definitely a visit to Turgutreis worth it for more choice or Gumusluk for a very artistic/hippy sort of place!
I would highly recommend the Sofabed hotel, the hotel has a no star rating but was perfect, so much so that when I checked into a 3 star hotel the second week in a different town, I had to check out the same day as the standard was so poor in comparison! The bar staff made us feel so welcomed and the ambience was so chilled. As the hotel is run by a family you instantly feel part of it. The home cooked food was delicious and you are given so much of it. The rooms are a great size, so are the bathrooms, just make sure you pay a bit extra for a room on the ground floor or 1st, I guess the saying you pay for what you get works well here. The standard of the rooms are the same but you are in the basement. This hotel is in a quiet area so if it's noise your after don't stay here, if you want to relax then it's perfect. The beach is no more than a 10 min walk away, that didn't bother us as we have a young Son who prefers the pool. A big shout out to Dogan, Ahmet and Ali who looked after us so well and we hope to see you soon as I will definitely return to this hotel as it's my favourite one in Bodrum so far! Thanks.
The staff at Sofabed were really helpful and friendly. Good breakfast, nice pool, 5 minutes walk to the beach.
The location of the hotel was a bit out of the way. You had to take a dolmus or taxi to get to other locations - Bodrum, Bitez, Gumbet etc. Having said that, it was really easy to get a dolmus or a taxi to go anywhere.
So friendly and helpfull staff, hotel is small and familiar, we really feel like home. Very clean. Location is quiet but near beach and shops, dolmus is going directly from hotel. Perfekt working WLan.
Really friendly stuff, nice clean room, good home cooked food, 5mins to beach..... Absolutely loved it. I definitely go back!
Friendly and caring ambiance, great service quality, very nice location.
Spacious rooms, nice and clean. 5 minutes walk to the beach.
Friendly , relaxed relatively quiet and unassuming
Large and nicely designed bathroom
Poor breakfast and uncomfortable bed. Btw, stay away from the rooms (i.e. caves) at the ground floor and try to get a room at the top floor if possible.
Dan in the bar with his english skills was a tremendous resourse for us.
We do think the cleaning staff was picking things belonging to us which we discovered when we was back home :-(
