We booked the hotel for the several day while we went to Tel Aviv. When we returned, they had moved us and our belongings to another hotel! We had a terrible time trying to locate the first hotel, as all it was was a blue door on a small street. When we returned from Tel Aviv, my Turkish Lires was gone from my suitcase.
the location and the size of the apartment ...9 beds+ kitchen ..very good for $50 a night...better than most hotels
the location was a bit of the city center, but after the second day of staying there we could find our way around easily
Good location, excellent wi-fi, wonderful staff
Need clearer directions - would never have found it by myself!
The location was excellent near many of the historical places, many kind of restaurants and shops are very closed, a nice place to take a walk during day and night.
The car parking is difficult, the way in and out is sometimes very difficult and crowd.
Very convenient and not expensive.
Very difficult to locate. No building number on confirmation and no name on building. Need to go to U Can Travel next door for keys etc. no breakfast anymore.
It was a depressing dump; very difficult to find (had to ask police for locatgion, and, when it was found, it was revealed that it wasn't a hotel--or even really a 'guesthouse'--at all); breakfast was supposed to be included (it wasn't), so had to negotiate with the proprietor for a partial refund. Avoid at all costs.
The neighborhood was interesting and close to all attractions and a good variety of restaurants.
Finding the room. It was not actually a hotel, but a room in an apt. building. The taxi had a difficult time finxing it because where you had to check in was actually a travel agency. The bathroom was very compact without an enclosed shower stall.
The street number being incorrect and walking around for an hour seeking the help of other hotels. Advertising breakfast and then not offering it. Offering compensation that covered only half of the breakfasts Very noisy road outside.
Short walking distance from all the big tourist sites in the Old City.
This is actually apartments with no breakfast. The guy running it tried to give me 5 TL per dinner back for breakfast which is nowhere near enough to get more than a cup of coffee anywhere nearby. I eventually persuaded him to give me 10 TL per day which is still less than the 15 TL a day I actually paid. The location given is for a travel agency that the apartments are run through. Fortunately I asked there for directions as otherwise I would have been searching all night.
The location of the accommodation was perfect. The inhouse restaurant was tasty and good value for money. Its family staff was nice and helpful.
The room was dusty. I had an allergy of it.
hard to find noisy street at night
in the historical center of town
hard to find adress and hotel - there are not any sign with hotel name and adress is not correct.
Location. Only minutes to Hagia Sofia and Blue Mosque. The staff was excellent and very helpful.
Very hard to find. My taxi driver gave up and I looked for half an hour. The address contains no street number or even telephone number and the office has no sign Sofia Hotel. Just GPS coordinates ;-). That could be improved. The Wifi is flaky and comes and goes.
one of the bests for this price
the location, and the behave of the staff
very poor cleanlines, very small room( not the same with the photo)not any kind of comfort(tv,fridge, ferniture), very bad smell from bathroom, very poor wifi, also one personal comment, i left for safekeeping, 4 bottles of wine-raki, was used by mistake, but never replaced as had to be,,,,not very good impression, breakfast was very poor,we were charged for a coffee(traditional turkish coffee,, when you visit a foreign country it is normal to taste local things, no need to be charged for a coffee in breakfast,,, bad policy,,, also omelet is charged,,, wake up people,,, omelet and coffee is a normal breakfast)
Great breakfast... we loved ziya baba... excellent place for dinner and good value for money!
I definitely recommend for anyone to stay at Sophia bed and breakfast. The staff were wonderfully friendly and helpful and my room was very comfortable and clean. I think what also makes this place such good value. If you need, they offer day trip and airport pick up service. Oh, the travel agency, restaurant and hotel owner come from a big family, the staff are very pleasant and helpful.
