Star Hotel  

Location, Location, Location! You won't find a better value for this location. Star Hotel is located in the heart of the Sultanahmet district. For that very reason, it was a bit loud in the evening, but nothing headphones or earplugs couldn't cure. Star Hotel offers such a relaxed atmosphere--with hooka/water pipe downstairs in its outside cafe area. Our room was quite comfortable, and I liked the breakfast on the rooftop. Cosun, who works reception in the evenings, is just wonderful! He provided me with a brief history lesson of Istanbul, gave me a map on which he provided lots of ideas, and booked a tour for us. He's just a sweetheart. Totally enjoyed our stay and will be back!!

Location, close to aya sofya and topkapi palace tough uphill

Noise from the street bars untill 1.00am, not possible to sleep wihtout ear plugs. Small rooms

The staff were amazing and the rooms were lovely. We extended our stay from one to 5 nights and they stored our baggage also. Very highly recommended and would do anything to help and enhance the enjoyment of our stay.

No wifi on the terrace at breakfast, but could access it anywhere else in the hotel however.

Facility was clean, staff very courteous. Location was ideal for us since visits to heritage sites were prime on our agenda. Overall the stay was pleasant and memorable.

The absence of lift. Breakfast is served on the terrace which is on the 4th floor. May not be ideal for mature people with cardiac or knee problems.

The hotel staff was indeed very very nice and helped us with whatever we needed. If you book a room at this hotel ask about Savas and he will advice you about dos and don'ts throughout Istanbul. Having a nice whitepaper ( narghilea ) with Savas and you'll end up next day visiting an authentic Turkish bazaar n Capa or visiting the ( not so touristic ) Asian side of Istanbul ... priceless.

helpful staffs with acceptable english skill, loved the roof top breakfast lounge! nice breeze with inviting sunshine, the ground level pub is another another place I loved most.

the guy working at the pub is a little greedy, always talking about money, he would ask for money while you're taking photos outside the pub. I knew he was not serious about that, but still... I am a tourist, sure I take photos every where.

Das Personal war sehr freundlich und die Zimmer sauber. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Toll war auch das leckere Frühstück auf der Dachterasse. Unten im Café war man immer Willkommen und hat einen Tee angeboten bekommen.

Wie bereits in den Kritiken erwähnt ist es nicht die leistete Strasse. Man hört Musik, lachen und das Leben in der Strasse. Wir hatten das Zimmer direkt über dem Café, mich hat das aber nicht gestört. Wer empfindlich ist sollte ohnehin Ohrstöpsel für einen Istanbul Besuch einstecken, denn die Moscheen sind laut.

Особых минусов не было, главное - это сам город, в который хочется вернуться ;)

Lo staff è davvero molto cortese, disponibile e amichevole! Le camere sono pulite e la posizione assolutamente fantastica! Considererò l'hotel per un prossimo ritorno a Istanbul!

La mattina l'acqua esce carente dal rubinetto causa una scarsa pressione nelle tubature ma la doccia si riesce a fare senza problemi!

Excelente ubicación, habitaciones confortables, personal atento y agradable, buen precio.

Die Lage zu den Sehenswürdigkeiten Istanbuls ist ideal.Man geht ums Eck und steht vor Hagia Sofia,Blauer Moschee und Topkapipalast.Mit der Tramway (Station Sultanahmet)gelangt man bequem,billig und schnell an alle weiteren touristischen Höhepunkte,aber auch dorthin,wo das "Leben pulst"(wie Z.B.Taksimplatz ect).In gleicher Straße befinden sich auch eine Vielzahl von Restaurants ,Bars und Geschäften aller Art,sodaß man vor dem Abendessen noch einen kleinen Bummel,hinterher noch einen Absacker geniessen kann.Das Personal ist außerordentlich freundlich und hilsbereit,die Zimmer zwar nicht sehr groß aber gut eingerichtet und sehr sauber.

Die Dachterasse (Frühstück) im 4.Stock ist nur zu Fuß zu erreichen,was für ältere,gehbehinderte Personen zu einem Problem werden könnte.Die umliegenden Lokale sind Vorteil und zugleich Problem:selbst im November wird draußen gefeiert,schläft man bei offenem Fenster und hat nicht genug Alkojhol intus kann der Lärm zu einem echten Problem werden.Dieser Nachteil wird aber durch die vielen anderen Vorteile mehr als ausgeglichen
