Crying child next door at all hoursc
No power generator to supply energy in case of electrical fault! 1 day without power !!!
As other travellers had rightly put...The place was clean and the staff were helpful and great.
Not too crazy about the location. Relatively near to the blue mosque but having to go up and down the hill which was quite a challenge to and fro hotel.
Location is good, 5 mins to the blue mosque, but quite hilly - most (if not all) taxi drivers have difficulty finding it. Free refill of water. Room very clean.
Staff speak little English (they speak German). Room is clean but toilet still smells. There's not even a blanket provided, just a big towel. Average breakfast.
Why I chosed poor for room comfort and not excellent inly cause i was alone and i took budget room. I love this hotel and always for last 3 years going back there. Is very clean ,new, location is perfect (near everything), stuff is polite and hospitality of the owner is above everything ( warmth and giveing feeling as in own house) . Sincerley recomanded if u wish to stay in center.
Almost everything. Especially the staff (very nice and friendly) and location.
During the night you can hear almost everything what hapens in the corridor. They should make beter acoustic insulation from the corridor.
performannce for price quite clean and new hotel
Great rooms, very friendly staff, good value, good location (uphill to sights though) Owner speaks English and German
hotel was overbooked, we went one night to a nearby hotel (Tulip), had to wait there for the room until 3.30 p.m., bit chaotic, but nice room with a view. Back to Sultan P. we got an upgrade. :) Sultan Palace is very good - but to be excellent they must improve their office organization at high season.
The hotel staff here will make sure to exceed all your expectations even in unforeseen situations. Breakfast is fresh, various and of high quality. Rooftop terrace has an amazing view. Hotel is very clean. Location is really good. All in all this is definitely my favorite hotel in Istanbul.
Very friendly and genuine staff. 30mins from the airport costing about 40 lira taxi. Close to all the places to go in the old town. Clean, modern rooms with a good shower, air con and view over the harbour
Right beside a mosque so expect the early morning sounds coming from this. Maybe take some earplugs!
It was clean and the location was good . 6 minutes on foot from Saint Sophia . Good wifi and quiet.
The air condition was only at 18 Celsius ( cold ), in order not to have it all night open !! So you have to wake up all night in august month to open it and close it because it was very cold the room. First time i see something like this!!! The rooms for their money were expensive because the economy was extremely small. Bad communication via emails before we go. The breakfast was poor.
In ten minutes slowly walking you're in Sultanahmet area.
Wifi wasn't working always
Overall this was a good hotel. The room was clean and comfortable enough. The Wi-Fi was good. The hotel is located in the middle of a touristic area that contains several great mosques and several museums.
To enter this hotel you need to go down some deep stairs, and there is nobody to help you with the luggage. I stayed there for two days; in the first day the breakfast was great, but in the second day most of the plates were empty when I came around 09:00 AM. Practically there was no breakfast in the second day.
Location, good breakfast and friendly staff.
Mahmet (manager) was a tremendous resource, always helpful and friendly. Made arrangements for Bosphorus tour with TTG (excellent tour guide Ayesnur Genc)
The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was a great spread of tasty dishes, the free-all-day-long coffee tea and juice was nice as well. The view from the terrace was lovely and the room also had a small view of a nearby mosque and some of the city, as well as the Princes Islands. The hotel was kept very clean. The rooms were small, but it was clean, comfortable and cozy. We didn't need anything more for space. It was easy to get from the hotel to major tourist sites on foot.
I have been visiting Istanbul more than 150 times, but thi was our first stay in Sultan Palace Hotel. We found the hotel very nice and the staff were friendly. The rooms are nice and clean. The location is very attractive close to most of the attractions of Istanbul. We will definately recommend the hotel.
SUing my lap-top, I found the internet to be slow and not good enough for my type of work. I indeed hope this will be corrected until my next stay.
Location is just in the historical area. Nice view from Top of the hotel. Breakfast nice. Staff speak German.
Internet not so fast. Hotel is difficult to be found if travel by Taxi.
good location; friendly staff; clean room; delicious breakfasts; terrace with beautiful views.
No good terraces and restaurants close to the hotel. I sent two emails before my arrival to which I had no response. Arrived at the hotel, I had a negative response to the mail request, without being warned in advance. The owner tried to sell us a different room than the one reserved via booking, a more expensive one, with so called sea view. Because we didn’t agree with his offer, he gave us the room above the room where breakfast was served. Every morning we wake up because of the noise. Breakfast was served between 8 and 10, but if you arrive at 9:45 you could not find much. The sewage leaks of the bathroom smelled very bad and although I noticed the owner, the smell continued to exist. In the room were a few bulbs lack at the luminaires and one of the chandeliers was a bit detached from the ceiling. There was also very cold in the room during the night. There was a bad experience and I was very disappointed because the Turkish people are very nice.
Hotel location is very good.Staff is friendly, breakfest is good.
Wonderful personnel who will help you at any time, good price/quality ratio, breakfast, good location - not so far from main street with different restaurants and PoI. Terrace on hotel roof has a beautiful view. Perfect place for staying several days in Istanbul.
Personnel doesn't speak English very well, but anyway it didn't make troubles.
Muy desagradable la persona que nos atendió.
The Owner tried his best to help as well as the rest of the staff. The language is a big issue in Turkey, very few speak English which make it difficult to communicate. The guy on night shifts has excellent English. Tea and coffee available 24 hours. We got gifts for the baby. I can say they have done their best
Noisy rooms (no sound proving) we could hear any voice from all floors which made it harder for the baby to sleep. When checked in sheets were not clean + hair everywhere and the baby cot had no mattress. the reception is on the ground floor while the door opens on the first floor (if you need to take the baby chair and stuff down is a bit of hassle) but they give you a hand every time you come in.
