Staff is very kind and it was a pleasure talking with the man at the reception everytime we met him. It's a very simple hotel, but if you are easy you can feel to be at home.
Breakfast! Just turkish's breakfast was served! There's a mosque very close to the hotel, your dreams will be broken every mornings at 5.30 by muezzins!
The location is very good, near all touristic sites, near many restaurants and bars and near the railway station. I asked for a quiet room and I got it - it was on the back with no view but that's ok. Tthe breakfast buffet is Turkish and ok. The german speaking receptionist at the front desk was very friendly and helpful.
Unfortunately when I went to the toilet in my room, it was completely pissed! Either the clening staff didn't clean it or after cleaning a man must have gone in. It was very disgusting.
the location is perfect, the staff are nice and communicable, for value for money the hotel is perfect, for 2-3 days one can easily come to sleep after long walks in Istanbul
wi-fi connection is poor in the rooms, but fine in the breakfast room, the cleanness is fine but there is a slight smell of mold
stuff are very helpful and they smile always, the hotel is very close to the tarm way and eminouno where you can take the boat to asia side
all rooms smell of smoke; doors creaking; Walls thin (I could hear people Taking a shower 3 rooms away!); minimal breakfast
Location Staff Breakfast WiFi
Small rooms Average cleanliness
Tram station just around the corner, close to the old town and most important sights, walking distance to the port of Eminonou and Galata bridge, kind personnel, cleaning every day, breakfast was ok
- The location is superb: 10 min away from Topkapi Palace, the Archaeological Museum, Hagia Sophia and Blue Mosque; 2 minutes away from the nearest tram stop and about 10-15 minutes from the ferry terminals - Staff friendliness: they helped carry our luggage and gave directions and advice on how to reach certain attractions; the staff was also extremely polite. My birthday coincided with our stay in Istanbul and one of the receptionists who obviously checked that beforehand congratulated me on my birthday. - Breakfast: although quite limited and the same every day, I found the breakfast delicious. - Air conditioning!: in the middle of August the heat in Istanbul was unbearable without air conditioning. Probably the second best feature of hotel Sultan!
- Cleanliness: the rooms were cleaned everyday, but there were certain spots that needed the dust wiped off them, e.g. lamps and bins
every thing was good during my stay, the staff was very helpful, nice and always smiling the room, although small was clean, and stready the breakfast was acceptable.
the hotel is situated in the way of the airport so it was very noisy
Super service 24h - always friendly and helpful, best spot with everything around you need. Right in the heart of the historical City. Breakfast was completely ok. Cleaning could be a little better. Highly recommend it for that price and what you get for it!
Cleaning could be more sensitive and better - dirt under forniture etc.
Apart from its location, I didn't like anything from it.
- Extremely uncooperative staff. I requested from them to dial for me a telephon number and their redponce to me was catastrophic. - They never cleaned my room for two days. - The bathroom towels were rendered gray color. Very old and not changed every day. - They cheat with currency exchange. If you pay in US dollars and the repay you with turkish leras, then they use a currency rate that is far away from what is in the market. - In breakfast hall, they put drinking water without glasses! Even the water was not in bottles and no body know its source. - I WILL NEVER GO THERE AGAIN AND BEVER RECOMMEND IT TO SOMEBODY.
My friend and I stayed at Hotel Sultan when I just arrived in Istanbul. It was so nice so we decided before we leave Turkey, we would still stay here, too. The staff was vey polite and helpful. The room was clean. It is very close to the harbor and Sultanahmet. It's a good choice with the value for money. I am sorry that I clicked the bottoms on the wrong side in my first review, therefore the score was really low. I wish I could do something to compensate if but booking.com doesn't allow us to change it.
The space of the triple room is small.
We arrived at the hotel late after an evening flight and found ourselves in a tiny room with three single beds squeezed inside, a door that didn't lock properly and a dirty bathroom with a leaky shower barely big enough to stand in. As a group of three girls traveling in Istanbul, we felt unsafe due to the total lack of security in the building apart from a tiny desk at the entrance, the carpet on the stairs was covered in stains and we were woken numerous times in the night from the noise.
The hotel is clean and neat. The staff is nice. The breakfast is excellent, too.
We gave stayed here a few times now have not been diss appointed with the staff and the facilities
The bathroom has a musty smell and the toilet had a serious rock but still these were very minor faults which did not affect my enjoyment of staying here.
Near to Eminönü and Sultanahmet. Perfect location
very bad hotel, you have several choices to have. but this hotel the very bad.the toilet is miserable and it is dirty hotel!! I do not recommend it at all!
Very good location, friendly staff, room ok,breakfast is the same every day but it's ok,towels changed every day,wi-fi signal ok in my room.
bathroom little bit small
The location of the hotel was superb. The best guy was Mr. Erjil, he was so helpful and kind.
The elevator was not working all the time. The breakfast was a little poor. The rooms were very small and so was the bathrooms. The net speed was poor.
The location is excellent, 5 min walk from the Blue mosque and Hagia Sophia and 3 min from the ferry terminals at Eminönü and the Spice Bazaar. There are plenty of restaurants, snack bars and bars on the same street as the hotel. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was decent.
The rooms are VERY small and the bathrooms are basic, no proper shower, just a shower head coming out of the wall, so the bathroom is flooded after every shower. Also, lift is very noisy, so is the traffic/tram from outside the windows.
Only the location was good!
The price I paid for this hotel was not reasonable. It was not worth it. Breakfast was not good. Plus the bad smell in the room that made me to keep the windows open all the time!!!
Well located. Shuttle service. personnel avalaible, and hepful.
The breakfast was well diversified. one member of the personnel farted behind the deskboard ! I was in the lowest budget room at the second floor, at this level the doors makes noise. In general the noise isolation is not so good, you'll hear the noise of the tv too. the mastress makes noise too.
