A/C Being so close to the important features of the Old City.
The atmosphere of a historical palace
our room was spacious with balcony and stunning views over sea
Central location and a real Turkish atmosphere
Our rooms were clean and a good size. Our bathrooms had a basin and dipper. No bath. Unusual, but we liked it. The hotel is set in extensive gardens, and there are plenty of outside seating areas. It is possible to eat breakfast outside. The breakfast room has a nice outlook. The location is excellent, opposite the really interesting mosaic museum and less than 100m from the Blue Mosque. The staff are friendly and helpful.
location, furniture, ambiance
The entrance through the exquisitely manicured tranquil fountain court yard. The beautifully maintained old world interior. The luxurious and spacious 'standard' room which I was initially convinced must be one of their deluxe rooms.Room 317 had a lovely, quiet balcony with views of the sea,the Blue Mosque right across the road and even Hagia Sofia in the distance.Having a really great little upmarket Bazaar right across the road and being mere minutes from all the main sites and a multitude of good restaurants and shops. The Airport shuttle was definitely worthwhile too.
The Turkish shower.. interesting but the provision of a shower curtain or glass enclosure would make it more user friendly for what appeared to be largely UK/US guests.
Location and price
Location perfect. Hotel really lovely with roof garden overlooking the city.
I gave facilities and comfort only fair as the bathroom is minute. One has to turn sideways to enter and the shower is as basic as one can get. Still...I would stay there again.
The position was great and the room very well appointed. Our balcony had a view of the Marmara Sea which was fabulous. Altogether a delightful experience.
The staff were not particularly helpful in recommending restaurants
Location was perfect. Comfortable Room. Loved the Turkish Bath!
Location, location, Location.....
Cleanliness and general condition of the room (old, poor bathroom.) The hotel needs to be renovated.
The building style, the service, the location was the best...
Wonderful location, excellent room (de luxe), eve if it is a little bit small, with a fantastic view.
Breakfast could be improved. The bathromm is a little bit small.
One of just 3 worldwide hotels for which we would re-visit the country just to allow us to stay in the hotel again. We had a deluxe room with unique Turkish motif, plenty of space, a deluxe bathroom, panoramic view of the Bosphorus and sea of Marmara, and a balcony with water and Blue Mosque views. Hotel grounds are lovely and spacious. Location is perfect. Staff was most helpful
Two insignificant things. One, the deluxe tub housed the shower, and one must be careful not to slip stepping out over the high side of the tub. Second, the Turkish wines in the room mini-bar were nearly undrinkable. Bring your own.
great view from deluxe room on blue mosque, central location, clean room, top service, oriental atmosphere, any time again!!!
We loved the character of this unique hotel and its ambience. The view of the Sea of Marmara from our room fulfilled my dreams. We enjoyed talking with the members of staff and appreciated their suggestions and arrangements. Troy was particularly helpful, and the dining room staff were very friendly. We enjoyed the total experience of staying in the Sultanahmet Sorayi and it was perfect for our visit to Istanbul. Thank you.
There was nothing that we did not like.
The location was fantastic. Just what we wanted: a large & attractive quiet room with Bosphorous views and close walking distance to important sites in Sultanhamet! Our terrace was one of the nicest we have had anywhere! We will return some day soon!!!
Our Bathroom was cramped for my husband who is six feet two inches. The marble & design were lovely but entry door was in wrong place, they need to install a door that goes out or a pocket door. But I would not dwell too much as how much time do you spend in there when room, terrace & hotel were excellent!
The location and the service.
The bath room.
The staff at reception and the staff at breakfast were very helpfull we loved the location
The noise from the cleaners we did very politely made a complain but it only got worse we were near the cleaners office they were talking very loud banging doors we didn't have one night good sleep in the 5 nights we were there
bathroom - not convenient and dangerous
Staff were good, friendly and accommodating.
Over priced for what was offered - ie room size was small but adequate, linens needed attention in size and quality.
The location is perfect. The view.
1. The standard rooms, which are on the top level, are very small. The room itself is max. 10 sq m and impractically arranged. 2.The bathroom is extreemly small, only one person can enter it, and to reach the toilet behind the door you have to go into the shower first to be able to close the door and then reach the toillet. 3. The door of the room has a gap at its bottom so you hear everything happening in the corridor as if happening in your room. 4. The ceiling height ranges from 220 - 175 cm.
