Our only minor complaint was that our bedding failed to be straightened and towels changed one evening of our three night stay. They were the other nights, so this seemed to be an oversight. We usually do not require hotels to change our towels every day but we should be presented with the option.
We liked the fact that the Taş Konak is a boutique hotel. İt seems to be the one hotel with any real character in Trabzon. The hotel is on a busy road, and our room was on the street side, but the windows have triple-pane glass, which cut much of the noise. We also had a great view of the port and the sea. Our room was quite large and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was included with the room. The offerıng was quite large and included the staples of a typical Turkish breakfast. One could also have Black Sea specialties prepared upon request. Although the hotel is not in the immediate center of the city, Atatürk Square was a short five minute walk away. The location is also convenient to the bus station and the coastal highway. The staff, especially Gökhan bey, were quite attentive, including offering us tea or coffee whenever we arrived back at the hotel. Gökhan bey helped us arrange a rental car, which we could pick up and leave at the hotel, and gave us suggestions where to eat. Overall, we very much enjoyed our stay and would recommend the Taş Konak.
