Well, the first impression was reasonable. We got a room at the back of the hotel, and therefore were convinced to will have a quiet night. But nothing was less true, as around 10 o'clock, an enormous noise started in front of our window. As it turned out, just across our hotel (let's say 5 meters), at the back of the building, there was a night club at the 5th floor, starting around 10 pm with live music and going on until 4 (!) o' clock in the morning.
My husband and I booked 3 nights (wed-fri). The first night, we come back from the city around 1 a.m., and slept thanks to enough alcohol from let's say, 2 o'clock (music stopped around 4). For the next morning we ordered breakfast at 8 as I had an appointment in a clinic. Breakfast was ready at 8.40, but was ok. The second night, I decided to go to bed BEFORE 10 o'clock with the hoop to sleep deep enough to not hear the music. Badly, I was awake at 1.30 and stayed awake until 4 o 'clock thanks to even louder music on thursday. The next morning, I decided to book another hotel to get at least one night of sleep. I didn't see the owner of the hotel to complain, so finally we left in the early afternoon and had a nice last night in Istanbul in the district of Karaköy.
No, I definitely wouldn't recommand this hotel if you like to sleep- the rooms at the front of the hotel have namely to deal with even more noise by clubs and bars. Sorry, I'm a quite frequent traveller, but this was the worse experience I ever had!
the location was very good, close to Taksim square (metro) and in a sidestreet of the main shopping street. lots of bars and restaurants, shops, barbers etc. around it. friendly owner.
