Taksim Gonen Hotel  

I like the location, the hotel is confortable, clean, good breakfast

I dont like the relation with the reception. We confirm our reservation and ask the transfer to the hotel when we arrived, nobody was trere, people were, very unpolite in all requestes we donw during staying in the Hotel.

1.There is a Jacuszi intehir bath which is good. the fitness and especialy a girl who works there is called Gunes ,was a nice person. It is close to Taksim Square.

I would like to share my exeperience with you about this hotel: 1.Air port Transport:At the time of my booking, I have notified the hotel that I will need the air port transport on my arrival.Where I arrived no body was there and I had to phone them and even the worse thing was that they lied to me that there is a traffic jam!I had to wait for 45 min to some on come and pick me up with a large 16 people van!! NOT A GOOD START!! 2.Room Booking: I have made them aware in advance in the email that I will be arriving in the morning.When I approached to their reception , they said that I have to wait for 5 hours in their LOBBY !!! I was shocked and immediately was going to leave but they firstly told me that they have no room but then they gave me a standard room instead of my Delux booking up that day noon. 3.I had soem business VIP guest at the hotel and I had to go there 3 times to ask for a waiter(s) to come and serve my guest but there was no response!!!! 4.Breakfast table:It was the exactly same meals every day and it was a quiet boring to eat the same thing day after by day! 5.One of the worst and scandal things was the TV sound in my left side room.Their TV volume was in hammering in my head every night till mid night and I was absolutely sleepless and pissed off!! It seemed that there was no sound insulation in the rooms.at the last night I had to phone to the reception and maybe that was the only night that I could sleep properly. 6.there was not any tissue in the rooms ; 7.At the checking out one of their staff kept me holding for more than 15 min just to give me my money change when I was in rush to catch my flight. In actual fact I would not consider this hotel as 5 star hotel !This could be a 3 star hotel as I am an international traveler and had the chance to visit major cities in the world.

Location , and size of room only..

I go to Turkey almost every year. And I've stayed in diffirent hotels and this was the worst hotel I ever stayed in in terms of staff. The lady receptionest at the front desk can barely speak english and she can't answer any question. And the chief of staff. His name is Erhan does not have the minimum sense of customer/relations basic. He is very rude . and that is the case with almost all the staff there. I've read from previous reviewers that staff are bad, but seriously i couldnt immagine it is this bad. specially that i know the city very well and i wouldn't need much help. I would recommend staying in a flag-named hotel in the surroundind area. Additionally, the bathroom tub wasn't that clean. and some of the facilities like jacuzzi in the SPA were out of service. The house keeping staff opened the door several times when we were sleeping in the room despite the non-disturb sign ! If my booking was refundable i would have checked -out and moved to another hotel. but unfortunately i was stuck there for my entire trip which ruined my vacation. We spoke to the manager in the last day about how rude are the staff, but he couln't do any thing. I guess the receptionest (Erhan) owe us an apology at least for his shoutings...

THE cleaning of rooms, but in general the hotel is lacking. Stained the breakfast dishes, dirty, the breakfast room and tablecloths on the tables, in three nights spent in hotels, not a day the room was swept. Pity, because the structure is not bad and in a beautiful location. I do not recommend

the hotel was comfortable and the staff were extremely friendly.staff always ready to assist.

Good location and clean rooms.

The it staff could not help with an outlook emailing issue which I had, which was due to their own it settings. When looking for a 24 hour pharmacy to buy medication for a sick friend on a Sunday, the receptionist was not particularly helpful in helping me find one.

The ladies at the front desk were friendly and so is the luggage men the spa was great best Turkish hamam

The bathroom is poor it needs maintenance

Hotel's location might be the only reason I might go back to this hotel.

Well, as soon as hotels know you booked through booking.com, the attitudes change to make sure you leave a good comment here. However, to be fair, some of the hotel staff were not really freindly at the beginning. Poor English language is something you generally do not expect from any hotel staff in the world let alone a hotel in heart of Taksim Sq. In Istanbul however, poor English of the staff did really frustrated me at points. Breakfast was not a plus at this hotel. bad location, not acceptable coffee!...thanks to Turkish olives and cheese which only made a difference... overall, set your expectation...and yes, knowing all these, I still recommend if you want to be in heart of Istanbul.

I stayed many times in Taksim Gonen Hotel, each time the facilities were improved but the staff get worse.

The price was good and the location was very good.
