Very nice view from the panoramic roof restaurant
The taxi driver stole my wallet on the day of arrival
Location is good. Breakfast is delicious The view of roof is wonderful! !!
The main door is closed
When we stayed there, the main entrance door was closed for maintenance and we had to go through a travel agency office to enter the hotel Which was not comfortable. Because there were not many customers at the time we were staying there, the quality of breakfast was not great.
The hotel is walking distance to most of the centers of interest for visitors. Calm and quiet with daily cleaning and linen changes. Restaurant offers a good panoramic view of the area.
Breakfast, location and view were fantastic.
The hotel is ideally located off-season price really low, I do not know what is price in season. Location: 2 minutes from the hotel walk to the Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, Sultan Ahmet Park, 5 minutes walk to the Blue Mosque, Sultan Hurrem Hamam, Topkapi complex gate, the church of Hagia Irene, Gülhane Park, Gülhane or Sultanahmet tram stop, Sirkeci metro station, 10 min - to Mosaic Museum, Nuruosmaniye Mosque, Grand Bazaar, 15-20 minutes walk to Sirkeci train station, the New Mosque, Eminonu port, Galata bridge, Egyptian Bazaar, Hagia Sophia Little Mosque. View through a window and a French balcony to in front house. The room is very spacious and can accommodate three people, lighting the room a little small, there are minibar and a small fridge. There is no welcome gifts. Bed very comfortable, good mattress, the room clean and newly renovated, large closet but little shelves. There is a TV, but it did not work for several days and the staff did not repaired up. Only one rosette in room! The room appears to be safe, the hotel has a camera everywhere, in the corridors as well. There is an elevator. Administrators helpful staff, propose and outsource the desired excursions, tickets to events, provide other information, always! Clean the rooms every day, to maid should leave a few lira, cleans well, bring the item, the constantly adds bathroom accessories, bedding changes. Her very thanks. Staff speak English well, some - Russian. There is a spacious lounge below. At the top of the terrace a great view, there can be climbed at any time and enjoy the day in Istanbul. At hotel has a small private hammam, which offers services at the same prices as in Istanbul and elsewhere - if negotiation is not busy your can get a discount. Traditional Turkish hammam program without oil massage costs 40 euro per person. Masseurs excellent, very good doing massage, you will be sure to satisfy. I've tried - and thank them and a guy who take discount.
Only one big disappointment - breakfast. Unpleasant staff, working slowly, a lot of what you need to make themselves, such as cutlery and pick table. Although the terrace picture perfect, the food the same every morning, very traditionally, poor assortment in the Turkish breakfast traditions. Products not fresh, sometimes - very outdated, except bread. Dried sausages, scrambled eggs if you want ask for that fried, boiled eggs though is always there. Sometimes fry with egg baguette. All of these products are often cold, very bad taste. Has white and black bread. Coffee from the machine very bad, do not have Turkish coffee, tea reason. Cheese and meat a very small, multi-species, but not fresh, poor taste, tomatoes and cucumbers not fresh, wilted sometimes absent, no salads. Olives are good. Turkish yogurt was served always, breakfast cereals too, traditional sweet jam, milk, water. Juice is not very tasty. There are pieces of halva.
Fantastic location. Able to see fireworks on new year's day from our room balcony. Very attentive and helpful staffs. Big and comfortable room for 3 people. Many shops around for food. Walking distance to major attractions such as Blue Mosque, Haiya Sophia, Topkapi, Grand Bazaar ,Spice Market, Islamic Museums, Basilica Cistern and more. Nice restaurants for dinning in as well.
The room is not sound proof. Noise from the roof top restaurant and the sound of water sort of licking in between concrete walls was so annoying. Water pressure for showering very low and at times it stop completely. Heater in the bathroom not working. Spread of breakfast can be better but view from the roof top restaurant were amazing .
Loved the room. We had amazing views of the Bosphorus and Hagia Sophia. The bath tub was a plus! Just what you need after a long day walking around the beautiful city.
Breakfast didn't have much too choose from but the quality was good. The windows in the bedroom didn't close properly but we didn't have much trouble as the heating worked perfectly.
Close to almost everything in the old area of istanbul. Decent rooms Regular cleaning of rooms Helpful staff
New years eve arrangement not worth the money, bad food and program. Top floor restaurant, expensive and not clean in my opinion. Breakfast, bad... only some cheese and other wierd stuff that doesn't belong as a Breakfast.
Avoiding noise of cars
Good and nice hotel. Specialy the location
Location. Hotel is situated on Yerebatan Street, very close to Basilica Cistern, Hagia Sophia, Sultanahmet Square and Topkapi Palace. Most turist destinations in the Old City are within the walking distance, including both the Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar, as well as metro/train station at Sirkeci. Transport to/from the hotel - a van connects the hotel with Ataturk Airport several times a day, for a reasonable price of 20 Liras per person. A cab could cost 50-60 Liras. Staff. The staff was very kind, and they were very helpful with useful advices and answers about local things in Istanbul. They provided us with free cup of caj (tea), after the check-out, while we were waiting for the transport to the airport. From experience, it's better to ask the receptionist at the lobby to invite a cab for you, because the one you stop at the street is likely to overprice his drive. The room was spacious, it contained a sofa, an armchair, a table, and a TV. It did not have a view, but we anyway spent most of the time out in the city. One evening the power want down for a short while, but in a few seconds, the backup generator was on, and everything was fine. Restaurant is on the top floor, with a really superb view of the city while enjoying the meal. For breakfast, there's a good offer of food (cheese with herbs recommended!), and the chef will make an omlette upon request. In the evening, the place is an a la carte restaurant. Overall, the Istanbul Hotel is excellent value for money, I would recommend it if you are looking for a medium-priced hotel at a great location.
The WiFi signal in the room was pretty much weak. It worked perfectly well in the lobby and in the restaurant.
Fine location, clean rooms. We had a nice spacy room. Breakfast simple but for a 3 star hotel OK. Correspondance with Hotel via email before arrival was prompt, information good and understandable
Few problems with watersupply 1 day which had been solved when we returned to the hotel. The Hotel was claimed via booking.com to be a 5 star hotel. It is not - but a fine 3 star hotel.
The location is just right, within 5 minutes walk to Hagia Sophia and the restaurants. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful.
great location, friendly and helpful staff.. great value...Jam.. the hotel attendant.. showed me where to buy the cheapest beer and carried my beer back to the room for me.. the hotel restaurant is on the top floor with breathtaking views.. great breakfast with atmosphere overlooking the city
the wifi in the room was a bit slow
Breakfast was good and the personnel are friendly and helpful.
No qiblah direction and the lighting inside the room is dim
Views, size of rooms
Its all quite old and oldfashioned. There is a clear lack of maintenance. The spa and sauna is very expensive for what it is and is not included in the room rate.
Location in mid of the old city, something that worth to be known.
Dirt and sight behind of the hotel.
Location right in the centre of the old town plus the staff were very co-operative
Rooms are very small and dark. The first room thay gave me was not suitable for human living and after two nights they changed it to a better one. No proper restuarant and other facilities
Very friendly and helpful staff. Lovely comfortable rooms and amazing location.
Location was Perfect for exploring the city as it in the middle of all attractions.staff of the hotel were nice and they managed our early checkin & late Checkout request. the breakfast was good but mostly salads / 4 types of cheese / buns and several types of jams including nutella. boiled eggs and 2 other items of sausages was must. but they also can make omlete or fry egg. i was with my parents and 2 young children and my stay was v.nice including Breakfast & beautiful panoramic View
the chef didnt know how to make omlete & the staff except manager are not good in english speaking. house keeping staff arrange your stuff which i didnt like. seems that they are part time and not permanent housekeeping. moreover the staff of hotel is limited as the chef also sits in reception with a tie & waiters also work as bellman etc.
The quality of the housekeeping was superior! My friend and I were slobby and the staff organized and folded our stuff! We tried to be tidier after that and gave them a good tip. Front desk staff were informative and pleasant. And the breakfast staff were creative and courteous.
Perhaps be more strict about smoking areas. We were smokers but could smoke in our room although it wasn't designated as such. Maybe have certain rooms designated as smoking or have an area on main floor or on the terrace in evenings. If non-smokers got the room after us, they rightly wouldn't be pleased. The air conditioner wasn't very efficient.
Very good service
The room has a back door that didnt close well but nothing bad happended
Fantastic location, being right in the heart of the Sultanahmet area and the staff were excellent, very friendly and always helpful.
Above my room was the restaurant and I could hear chairs being scraped on the wooden floor late at night and then early in the morning for breakfast. Would've liked a more warmer duvet and more pillows. Housekeeping forgot to clean my room one out of the three mornings.
