Travellers Cave HotelAydınlı mahallesi, gorceli sokak no:7, 50180 Göreme (Show map) Superb, Score from 442 reviews“Great hotel and really nice staff. Really fun to stay in a cave room. Fantastic breakfast every morning and fire in the fireplace at night. Everyone was very helpful. There are two dogs who live there which I like because it makes a place more personable. Definitely would stay there again.”

Everything was perfect! When I booked this hotel, I wasn't expecting much because it was fairly inexpensive. But wow, what an amazing experience my family and I had there. I didn't know that the location of this hotel was at the very tip-top of Goreme, so the view was absolutely breathtaking! The hotel cave rooms we had were simply beautiful, and the fireplace in our room was awesome while having hot tea in the winter. My kids loved it, and everything was just really wonderful. The staff was super helpful and friendly, and accomodated our family's needs with genuine care and courtesy. We would definitely stay here again, in fact it would be the only place we would stay in Cappadocia. Excellent rates, location, staff, and service.

Superb location overlooking Goreme. We enjoyed ending our days with a glass of Turkish tea at the pavilion overlooking the lights in town. Spacious room with a cozy feeling and comfortable bed, which was great to retire to at the end of our long and busy days in Cappadocia. Booking tours through the hotel was quite convenient and prices were reasonable. Warm, attentive (but never pushy or cloying) and friendly staff. An example of the warm service we had: we had to check out at 4:15 A.M. and therefore would not catch up to the breakfast buffet. So I was surprised and delighted when Bekir came to our room on our last night with a packed takeaway breakfast! This was the first time in all my hotel stays that such a thoughtful gesture had been made (most hotels don't care if you miss breakfast on the day you check out, even if you've already paid for it). I really appreciated it! Slightly musty smell in the bathroom, however I realize this is a cave. So I can't really complain!

The room was ok, big enough and clean. The breakfast buffé was also ok. The photos and description from booking.com of the hotel does not consist to reality! The hotel is not good for people with some kind of problem to walk or to use stairs, because you have to climb up to the reception/restaurant and it is high up!

My family and I loved the general area and the fact that this hotel was higher up on the 'hill' meant we had an amazing view. The staff were very friendly. :) There was no way to access the rooms other than stairs so I would suggest that if you are not able to climb up and down stairs easily then you need to find another hotel.

Probably the most exotic hotel I've ever visited. This is a must go place. I strongly suggest it. I arrived at 22 local time and the kitchen was closed. The receptionist prepared us two sandwiches. I expected more from a hotel of this class, but I forgive them because everything was just perfect there.

Excellent staff and service. The rooms are tastefully decorated, and built into the mountain as caves. The buffet breakfast was the best we had in turkey. Fireplaces are a unique attraction as well. The 5 min hike up the hill is worth it for the views - snow capped fairy chimneys and balloons in the sky. They arrange tours and do not charge any more than the tour operators from the centre of town. The companies they use are of high quality (e.g. butterfly balloons, Silk Road ATV/Scooter hire). You also get a discount. They provide a shuttle into town if needed, but for us the 5 min walk was no problem We initially booked a standard cave room. After spending one night there, it had a 'sewer' smell coming from the bathroom. Upon advising the management they first hesitated, but upon making the head manager aware, they took our complaint very seriously and upgraded us to the best room in the place for the rest of our stay. This negative thus showed us their serious commitment to service.

Rooms in natural caves are very interesting ant romantic. Our room also had fireplace. Good staff, which helped us with excursions and transfers. Dinner in the restaurant was quiet simple, but good and cheap.

From the moment you book your room, Bekir will became your best buddy! He is going to answer you any question and give you any information you may need. The Hotel is well located, the bedroom is very comfortable, homemade breakfast, touristic services and a friendly atmosphere! Be prepared to climb! Some rooms demand more than a few steps... The bedroom has no locker and no room service as well...

The location is wonderful as it is high up on the hill overlooking Goreme Village. Staff is wonderful and will help you book hot air balloon flights and/or other tours of the area. We were there in December and had heaters in our room, a fireplace, and a heated blanket for the bed. Breakfast in the morning is wonderful! Your room can get a little smoky with use of the fireplace as they are very small chimneys/drafts. There was a dog that barked nearby 2 of the 3 nights we stayed there-bring earplugs just in case!

Travellers Cave Hotel was wonderful. The location was amazing, set in the rocks of Goreme, with an amazing view overlooking the city. The room was perfect, was always warm, even when it was -2c outside. The staff was very nice, and even accommodated us for an earlier than normal breakfast before we left! I would definitely recommend this hotel for families and romantic getaways as well. The only thing we noticed was the shower head needed to be replaced as it did not work properly and sprayed water throughout the bathroom.

Our bus arrives early in the morning, 4:00 am weather liked 2 degree c, we only expect a good warm reception area where we can hide until check- in time. But we got a big deluxe room with breakfast instantly. That was very nice. Staff were very helpful not too pushing in selling tour package and providing good travel info. Room is very big and cozy, even with extra bed for 3rd person. Breakfast is in top rating among 6 hotels we stays for the whole trip.

The Manager Hakkam was very helpful and kind. As soon as we arrived he made us feel at home. He helped us organize tours to see surrounding attractions and activities while we were staying in Goreme. We were very pleased with the tours. The cave/room # 11 in which we stayed was like a dream with a beautiful fireplace and a great bathroom. Super clean and quiet and with an incredible view. In the mornings we were able to see all the balloons flying and their breakfast was awesome. They had two cute little dogs in the reception area which will greet you as soon as you step in. The Traveler Cave was cool! I will recommend it to all my friends if they go to Goreme. It was a highlight of our trip.

“The room was very cozy with a fireplace. The view from our terrace was spectacular. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of variety. The hotel itself was very beautiful. The hotel arranged tour of Cappadocia was wonderful and worth the money. There are many hikiing trails from the hotel. A very nice place to stay for a few days to see the area.” Donovan, Halifax |
