“Nice hotel, friendly staff, very willing to help you finding locations in Istanbul you want to visit, willing to help with public transport, nice places to eat etc. Nice large room for reasonable price, nearby shopping street. Taksim is a good starting place in visiting the major tourist attractions as the Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Grand Bazaar.”

Did not like anything. Have nothing good to say. The whole stay was a big pain. Staff does not know English. Internet connection is very poor. Unable to do any email checking. Young man at reception does not understand English and is not willing to help. Do not choose this hotel. Rooms are very small.

Beds are very old and extremely uncomfortable, we are both very athletic and still had extreme back pain in the morning. This is not very good when you are suppose to rest well during the night and enjoy the day as much as possible!

Excellent location for a modest price. Quiet and comfortable. Very comfortable chairs in the lobby. Fine breakfast provided. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. I have no complaints. I missed having a chair in my room, but the small size of the room makes that difficult to provide.

Friendly, helpful staff. Good breakfast provided. Convenient location (in the more modern part of Istanbul) for restaurants, nightlife, and public transport. Reasonable price for accommodation, at least in the off-season when I visited.

Location was very nice. Close to istiklal street and the taksim metro station which was very important for me. İnternet was fast and reliable. All staff I encountered spoke good english and were helpful, nice people. Water pressure in the bathroom was very nice. Bed was a little uncomfortable. I also got a room facing away from the street and it was quıet but i can imagine the noise level on a room towards the street being problematıc. Also alot of the times when guests staying next to my room would enter, it seemed like someone was entering my room. This was more of a annoyance than a problem. I would recommend this hotel to travellers looking for moderate comfort for a good price and great central location.

It is close to Taksim and therefore to the main transport nodes and Istiklal street for shopping. Staff are helpful and courteous and breakfast is just enough. It is not conveniently located if you want to visit the main attractions of Istanbul. It could be noise if you take the rooms facing the street, while the rooms to the back have windows opening to internal shaft.

Vardar Palace Hotel is charming and in an ideal location near Taksim Square and Istiklal Caddesi in Istanbul. The service is excellent, the hotel is comfortable and breakfast good. It has a unique and special quality that makes it stand out from the rest. (It is not a boring chain hotel and not a tourist trap hotel.) Highly recommended!

Nice hotel, friendly staff, very willing to help you finding locations in Istanbul you want to visit, willing to help with public transport, nice places to eat etc. Nice large room for reasonable price, nearby shopping street. Taksim is a good starting place in visiting the major tourist attractions as the Blue Mosque, Topkapi, Grand Bazaar. Although we booked a room in Euro's, we were obliged to pay in Turkish Lires (I payed with credit card, so it should not be any problem to pay in Euros). I am still wondering - have to check - if the hotel used a reasonable rate, but my first impression is that they used a rather high rate, meaning that we payed more than the original price in Euros.

The continental breakfast was great. A nice variety of traditional turkish breakfast items as well as some North American breakfast foods to accomodate everyone's taste. The terrace had a really nice view of the Bosphorus as well as the city. I loved the Hydrangeas and various shrubs that were placed around the terrace as well. We would bring our own drinks to the terrace and relax before we went our for dinner. It's not the four seasons (one friend's hotel room view was a brick wall and another friend had a good street view) but if you are not planning on hanging around the hotel all day, this place is convienient, affordable and ideal for visiting Istiklal street, and some cool local cafes and restaurants. It has an 'apartment' like feel to the place and the staff were friendly and helpful. Great water pressure for showering too!

The staff was friendly. The room was tidy and clean. The breakfast was nice. The wireless connection was quite decent speed. I needed to work and the speed of the wireless connection helped. Even though the room was large enough, the space around the single bed was restricted by the wall on one side, by a table on the other side.

Location of this hotel is great for exploring Taksim and other areas. It's only a few minutes to Taksim Square and all the public transport, as well as Istiklal Caddesi. It's also fairly quiet despite the location. Bathroom was very clean and room was spacious. Got a pretty good last minute deal, and for the price we paid, I definitely recommend it.
