Staff very helpful
Only language problem.they are not fluent in English and french
Friendly, helpful staff from reception to waiting staff to housekeeping. Rooms were comfortable and well organised. Breakfast was terrific - lovely fresh fruit salad that was slightly different every morning, amongst a large array of choices. Location was brilliant. I would stay there again & highly recommend this hotel.
The room was a little noisy at night because of the location of the hotel - but the convenience & all other aspects far outweighed this slight nuisance. The call to morning prayer at about 6 am can be heard everywhere in Turkey & was louder in some other hotels than at the Yasmak Sultan.
- Quickly respond of the reception desk with a perfect solution when you are arriving too early in the morning (5AM) - Friendly staff - An example fot other hotel how a good breakfast should be (variety over 7 tables) - Location (500 meters from Topkapi en bazaar)
- Quality of the transfer company (3rd. party = extern company) to take you back to the airport. Their planning was bad, just 1 seat for 2 persons. (Reservation from Yasmak hotel at his extern company was good)
Location and service
The room in the second floor was small and the carpet was very old. The beds small and unconfortable
quite, comfortable room ( first room was at the back of the hotel over the rear lane) and even with the windows open, noise was minimal. The front desk staff were extremely helpful with any question re tours and booking questions. Breakfast was excellent with a wide range of options to cover most appetites. Restaurant had a limited menu , but all options tried were very tasty and filling. Roof top bar was a wonderful place to have a drink and relax and even have your meal if you prefer the outside environment.
final night of our stay (after a one night Capadoccia trip) was in one of the front rooms and this was much noisier when windows were left open as we prefer ... with windows closed , the room was again quite.
The public areas were very nice with lots of amenities. There was a spa which I wasn't able to use since I didn't book in time but it looked great. The breakfast room and downstairs lobby/bar were also pleasant. We walked to many places and the tram line is close and easy to learn. All employees friendly and helpful.
Our room was where the stairs and elevator emptied at our floor. It's not the hotels fault but there were many discourteous guests who were very loud late at night. Rather strange smell in bathroom sometimes but I have noticed in other old cities; I think it's the fault of the sewer.
Very nice terrace view and breakfast. Staff very friendly smiling and speak good english.
King size bed is actually two single beds connected. Only sheets no blanket.
Friendly, helpful staff. Wonderful location, close to everything. Excellent breakfast in the rooftop restaurant. Cosy, comfortable rooms that were spotlessly clean. The bathroom was a bit dated, but that sort of added to the charm. Highly recommended.
Good location; great breakfast and stunning views from rooftop restaurant; good fitness facilities for such a central hotel; helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again
Central position near many popular sites. Fantastic views of the Bosphorous and Aya Sophiafrom rooftop breakfast restaurant. Seriously helpful reception staff.
There was nothing to dislike.
The breakfast and rooftop bar and restaurant was great with lovely views of the Hagia Sophia. You are close to all the major sightseeing spots, great restaurants, bars and shopping.
We had to ask housekeeping for basic things everyday eg fresh towels. And we came back from sightseeing one day to find the door to our room completely open. Luckily nothing was taken but no-one could explain how it came to be open or who had been in there; they didnt seem to be worried about it. We were, but they offered no apology or explanation.
Concierge is attentive and very helpful. Breakfast is fantastic with everything you might desire. Very good overall.
Situated in the old city just 10minute walk to just about everything we wanted to see. The Grand Bazaar, The Spice Market, the Blue mosque and the Bosphorous and many great restaurants.
Can't think of one thing
Amazing location within 10minutes walk to all major sights - Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazaar. Great view of Hagia Sophia each morning at breakfast. A few nice restaurants around the hotel. Staff were very helpful with information around sights and even called to check if the Bazaar was open on a public holiday without us asking. Staff also recommended taking a taxi to Taksim and then a walk through the Main Street, across the bridge and back to the hotel, after walking around sights for 2 days our legs were very tired but after deciding to do this we were not disappointed. Restaurants line below the bridge and are great to sit back and take in the views across Istanbul.
The only bad review would be that standard doubles can be quite small, especially the bathrooms but for a few days in a city where you are mainly out sightseeing this isn't a problem. Overall the hotel was perfect for us.
I felt confortable returning to the hotel each day after long hot periods outside sightseeing
It would have been nice if the pool was open later @ night
The view from the roof top bar is fantastic,by day or night the Hagia sophia is stunning. The breakfast choices were great, I particularly enjoyed the freshly made waffles. The room was small but perfectly adequate, we heard no noise during the night, the mini bar had room for us to put our own things in, the beds and pillows were very comfy. The hotel is perfectly located for all of the main sights in Istanbul and if we came again we'd certainly consider staying in the same hotel.
The 10euros to use the sauna and 'hammam' seemed a bit excessive, the sauna was nice but having never used a hammam before we were disappointed, no instructions until I asked and the exfoliating mitt was extra so we ended up paying just to use the sauna for a few minutes.
Great location in walking distance to everything..staff polite abd helpful .good facilities and great view at breakfast
Couldnt really find fault
Breakfast was good
Intialy they put me in room number 202 which was less than 20 sqm as stated on our booking. The bathroom is just too small and the shower area is around 80-90 by 80-90 sq cm. Pigeon Hole. Pictures shown on the website both of the exterior and room are not true . It is located in a lane and window have no view just walls. It is overpriced for the product and facilities it provides.
The hotel is well positioned within easy walking distance of most of the "sites" and has very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent views from the rooftop restaurant. Excellent selection for breakfast
Olive Restaurant, excellent food Nice breakfast Lovely terrace Excellent location Friendly and helpful staff Clean, comfortable rooms Cold water vessel in the lobby
Rather pricey The bar was not always attended, especially the lobby bar
The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful here - they make you feel welcome from the minute you walk through the door and will keenly assist with anything during your stay. The hotel has an excellent location - walking distance from all the main sights of Istanbul. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone planning a trip to the city.
Close proximity to numerous landmarks Tram station nearby Lots of good local restaurants Helpful staff
Cramped dining room
Excellent staff who were helpful and cheerful; outstanding restaurant - excellent food and service; good facilities; good location for historic Istanbul and access to tram system.
The staff were exceptionally helpful and kind - always willing to take an extra step to ensure that we were being well looked after. The breakfast options are very wide so you will almost certainly find something to taste. The evening restaurant (Olive) is the best we found anywhere in Istanbul by some margin.
The rooms are all very clean and well cared for but are getting just a bit tired.
