Set in Cappadocia’s landscape of fairy chimneys, Yunak Evleri is a unique cave hotel curved into a mountain cliff. It offers rooms dating back to the 5th century and a 19th-century Greek mansion. Rooms at Yunak Evleri feature warm hardwood floors, traditional carpets and handcrafted furniture. Each has its own spacious marble bathroom with amenities. Some include a jacuzzi. The on-site library offers books about Cappadocia and Turkey. Guests can also enjoy a large collection of jazz and classical CDs or watch a movie on a wide-screen TV in the old mansion. The attentive staff offer personal advice on the nearby attractions including Cappadocia’s underground cities and hidden cavernous churches. The hotel also organizes regular and private tours with professional tour guides. Hotel Rooms: 35 The most recent booking for this hotel was made on 25 May at 11:21 from Colombia.

In general very nice hotel in very nice place. The only objection is the reustarant. Reustarant is expensive and food of the fixed menu is not worth 30$ for person. Breakfast is also might be better.

Our room was spacious, the staff was very friendly and helpful--- there was always a greeter when arriving to the hotel. The breakfast was very nice and on early departure before the normal breakfast hours, they opened special for us. Very well run hotel that wants to please its guests. There are several possible entrance driveways up to the hotel, but one was especially narrow and not kind to our car.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Yunak Evleri. This is a very luxurious cave hotel offering only the best of everything. The rooftop terrace for breakfast was stunning with beautiful views of the property, countryside and parts of the near town Urgup. The breakfast was the best we had throughout all our hotels in Turkey. The choices were many and varied from cereals like muslix, fresh baked breads, loaves, muffins, eggs, yogurt, jams, jellies, honey, juices, coffee, tea, dried fruits and fresh fruits. They also offer a set dinner menu which we did not try as we felt it was expensive. The staff were efficient, friendly and very helpful with all our needs including arranging 2 day tours which were fascinating. There is no WiFi available in the rooms themselves due to them being caves however they have a central WiFi and 2 computers free of charge in the computer room available 24/7. They also have a TV room with movies available in the same building. There is a beautiful sitting room off the reception area that offers books and history to read on the area of Cappadocia and Turkey and prior to walking into the reception area outside there are tables, chairs and a fireplace where the WiFi works. There is also area a kitchen area where you can help yourself to wine, tea, coffee, ice (which is very hard to come by in Turkey) and you just tick off on a sheet what you take and they charge it to your room. The terrace area also has another lower level with a fireplace and comfortable outdoor furniture that is perfect to take a bottle of wine and enjoy the evening at the Yunak under the stars. We have no negative comments about the Yunak Evleri.

Wonderful hotel with lots of atmosphere. Well decorated cave! We thoroughly enjoyed every minute of our stay. Everyone was friendly and helpful to us all the time. Breakfast was excellent but the optional dinner was adequate but nothing special and was served in the hot dining room rather than on the rooftop where it was a little bit cooler.

Staff were excellent and the location was breathtaking. Breakfast was wonderful and the views from the rooftop dining area were superb. Staff knew the area and were most helpful with information. Dinner was expensive at us25 but plenty of local places to eat. Recommend Ziggy's only 100m down the road. No areas were air conditioned and cappadocia was in the middle of a heat wave so one cool area would have been nice. Cave rooms were cool but no access to wifi etc

This is a gorgeous hotel, great setting, with real attention to detail and great service. The room was furnished beautifully and ours had a jacuzzi bath which we hadn't been expecting. The breakfast spread was incredibly varied and all was delicious, and the evening meals on the terrace were lovely. All in all, incredible value, the highlight of our trip around Turkey. We'd love to come back. This looks like a lot of negative stuff but in fact it's more just advice to help others get the most out of their stay as we really did love the hotel! To get back to the hotel from the town is a rather arduous, sweaty walk up a steep hill (and since the hotel doesn't cater at lunch you will need to go in to town to eat) but it's a fairly short walk and well worth it for the view you get from the hotel, especially from the open air terrace restaurant. It would also be very cheap to take a taxi if you can't face the walk. The hotel offers to book private guided tours of the area and balloon flights for you and apparently uses the best companies for this. However, consequently the prices are pretty high (especially as the cost of the private tour is the same no matter how many are in your group - we were only 2) and we found we could pay less than half the price just booking a tour directly with a taxi driver and also saved a lot booking directly with another reputable balloon company (ez Air). We had a very good experience with both of these and saved a lot of money so may be worth shopping around a bit rather than automatically booking with the hotel, although we spoke to other guests who used the hotel tours and had really enjoyed their experiences.

An absolutely fantastic location! The rooms are set into the massive rock face and are spectacularly lit up at night and change in the shadows cast during the day. No air-conditioners are needed because the rooms are cool during the day. The restaurant offers a large dinner on the rooftop with magnificent views over the valley. Although the dinner is in a fantastic location and the food is good, the meal is rushed. The waiter prowls up and down and as you put your fork down, your plate is whipped away and the next course is put down. If you take your time eating, the next course will be cold. Requests to slow down the meal were either ignored or not understood.
