Hotel is in an excellent position near to the marina, easy to get to the beach . Some very good restaurants in the area, the restaurant at the hotel is also very good . The breakfast on the terrace every morning was lovely and well presented . The staff were very friendly and helpful .Ahmed and his team are happy to help in any way. our room was kept clean and towels changed frequently. we hope to go again next year.
Having to come home!!
Friendly staff and an excellent location. One of the best breakfast views in Kalkan.
Ensuite was small and dark!
Beautiful setting, spoilt for choice where to eat out. Our stay started at two nights, liked the place so much, we stayed a further night. First night, dined at the hotel on the roof top terrace. Excellent. Next night, dined at Samphire. Also roof terrace, this exceeded all expectation. Gullet trip
No beaches to speak of
Room was good sized, breakfast was quite good. Staff was friendly.
Bathroom is very small, sitting on the toilet puts your knees against the shower door. Watch the corners off the bed frames, they are sharp. The noise from all the night clubs can be heard in tour room until late at night.
Spotlessly clean and lovely rooftop bar and restaurant with great recipes views.
The noise from nearby clubs that continued till 3am.
Had a fantastic sea view room and would recommend paying extra for this as the view was stunning. The location of the hotel was perfect, right in the centre of town and close to the harbour and all the bars and restaurants.
Good location, friendly and very nice staff, excellent breakfast, panaromic view over the top
Noise is big problem. I don't mean noise coming outside in the night, as double glass windows and doors make very good isolation. I mean noise coming from bathroom and reception. You can hear your neighbors having shower and their conversation. You should close your bathroom door while sleeping. :) Even noise coming from reception can easily been heard. I think management should isolate or move reception as soon as possible. Best solution would be build a door between stairs and rooms. This solution also makes precautionary measures possible against fire, in case.
Touring Turkey we have been impressed by almost every place we have stayed. In that context, this hotel only gets a pass mark. The rooftop restaurant view is stunning and the best in town though.
Our room was extremely small with difficulties placing luggage. Also noisy from both outside and inside hotel. As so much has been said about warm welcome, we must disagree. Not rude in any way, but indifferent, especially in restaurant, where food was also average. An extensive fish menu but only two items available?!
breakfast is very satisfied with amazing view from roof restaurant.Staff is very polite and helpful.
The lovely owner Ahmet, his wonderful staff, the clean and comfortable rooms, the excellent restaurant both for (free) breakfast and delicious dinner, the perfect location
Our stay came to an end
My husband & I enjoyed a wonderful stay at Hotel Zinbad this summer. The moment we walked through the door-which happened to be 2am-we were warmly greeted by the owner, Ahmet, & his great hospitality was echoed by all hotel staff, which continued throughout our 6 night stay. Our room was superb: spotlessly clean, well equipped, comfortable & a beautiful sea view to wake up to every morning-just perfect! As well as the wonderful view from our room, the hotel terrace boasted sensational views of the marina & exceptional food. Within a matter of minutes, you could reach the stunning marina front, sea, shops, bars & outstanding restaurants. Ahmet was really on the ball with replying promptly to any email queries & offered great advice about local services. This was our first time in Kalkan & won't be our last...& when we return, we will stay at Hotel Zinbad-thanks Ahmet!!
Not a dislike but more of a heads up: drinks in Kalkan are pricey & not as reasonable as other towns in Turkey.
Welcome, breakfast and supper, room facilities, bed
Hotel Zinbad offered the best of everything: perfect distance from the beautiful Kalkan marina & wonderful facilities in every way imaginable! The owner, Ahmet, was the perfect host: welcoming, accommodating & very funny! When we arrived there was a slight issue with our room & the next morning Ahmet moved us to a more suitable room with a sensational sea view-we couldn't have asked for more!! Kalkan was the most beautiful place with spectacular sea views & a wealth of restaurants all offering outstanding food at unbelievably reasonable prices!! Everyone in Kalkan was overwhelming friendly including Ahmet & all of the Zinbad staff! The rooms were spotlessly clean with everything you could ever need: mini-bar (cheap!), free toiletries, air con & clothes dryer with a roof terrace boasting magnificent sea views. Thank you hotel Zinbad & Ahmet-we'll be back soon!!
All the staff were very helpful and friendly. We had a good room overlooking the harbour. The room and whole hotel was extremely clean. We had several meals on the terrace watching the boats come into the harbour, stunning views. The food was excellent, especially the chicken with spinach sauce.
Great terrace Very central district Clean Helpful staff
Central district but also in the heart of night life - noisy. WC s are toooo small. Can't even move.
Location is great. Marina is just couple of stairs away, if you go to opposite direction, town centre is couple steps away. Beautiful scene on the terrace. Ideal for couple nights of stay, as bed and breakfast. Great value for money.
-bathroom is a little bit small. -breakfast could be a bit richer.
Staff: polite enough. But we didn't really need much help. So there was minimum interaction.
Location: Difficult to sleep at night. As it is in the middle of nightlife. Music coming from the Chocolate bar goes on all night. Breakfast: Turkish breakfast includes tomatoes and cucumbers. There were 3.5 cherry tomatoes for two of us. Disappointing for the price you pay for that room. Value: Not worth the money you spend. Either spend a bit more and opt for something better or find better value, look elsewhere, which is what we did after two nights. There are better places in Kalkan.
The location is perfect. 1 minute from the marina. In the center of everything with all shops and restaurants around. Staff is very nice. The room was clean and air cond was working very well. Very good Turkish breakfast and vue on the marina is wonderful. I definitively recommend this hotel. The beach is very close or you can take a boat to go to a private beach from the marina. Kaputas beach is excellent as well !!
The location of this hotel is great. You are about two streets up from the marina in Kalkan, so the walk up the hill is very easy. The staff here are great, very nice and accommodating. They let us select our room after showing us which one's were available. The wifi signal worked great. Good shower, water pressure and temp. Parking was easy once they showed us where. Would definitely return here.
Located near the mosque, but it's Turkey so you get use to the early morning call to prayer.
-steps from the beautiful touristic streets in kalkan but still in a quiet location. -be careful, some rooms are better than others, maybe it is worth to get one of the better rooms when booking -very helpful staff -amazing terrace, worth getting this hotel even just for the terrace view
-breakfast is in an amazing terrace, but it is more average than great. this is really a pity. it is also quite slow.
Great service and friendly staff. My favourite thing about this hotel was the room.. very cute and comfortable. Amazing value for money. Would definitely go back!
Buffet type breakfast would have been better instead of a prearranged plate.
The staff were extremely helpful and courteous. The position of the hotel was superb. The room was cleaned daily and to a high standard. Please note though this is not a place to go if you have trouble walking. It is biult on the side of a hill and some of the roads are very steep. Howevber I have never meet such a friendly race of people. They just couldn't do enough for you and made you feel so welcome in their country.
The bed was a little hard.
Location, to close to noisy bars and discos
The staff were very helpful and friendly and they make you feel very welcomed. the hotel was in an excellent location. It was great value for money and the cleanliness was very good.
A location filled with the atmosphere of the old town, yet central to everything you would wish to do, two minutes to a great beach and a rooftop view to die for... Staff were very friendly and helpful in this family run hotel - think here a home away from home, very comfortable bedding with good linen, modern roomy bathroom, spotless cleanliness and comfortable rather than designer presentation. The staff are all super friendly, helpful and well- intentioned with an amiable, laid-back vibe. The food in the restaurant is well worth trying especially if you can negotiate local delicacies such as char-grilled local octopus so fresh and beautifully cooked it will melt in the mouth, or the fresh fish of the day served in either western or Turkish manner. From this location it is easy to visit the beaches each day - and one is never bored in odd moments, the town and its food, coffee and shops simply require stepping out-of-doors.
