Half moon blue hotel is joined with the Bacolet Beach Club Hotel so that the facilities are shared. There is a private beach that is not too rough for swimming and a beach bar, plus lounge chairs are provided. There are also two lovely affinity pools with gorgeous views. The breakfast was included in the price of the room and was a big spread of local breakfast dishes such as salt fish, fried flying fish ... with the universal scrabbled eggs, bacon, sausage fruit etc.. I only ate at the restaurant for lunch and went elsewhere for dinner since Tobago has some great dining options. The lunch was very tasty (fish sandwich). I liked the boutique style of the half moon blue hotel, but if you prefer a more modern room then the Bacolet Beach Cub would be a better choice. I thought the rooms at the Half Moon Blue were rustic with a very unique style. The mosquito netting over the bed was romantic (I still slept with AC) and was a distinguishing feature to the tropical caribbean vacation, reminding me I was away from home, somewhere different.
The room was very disappointing. We were not happy and asked to be moved. We were then relocated to the sister hotel.
The lay out of the hotel was just right. Even the lizard running around the apartment was interesting. The décor was different but exotic. The view from my room was enjoyable. Breakfast was excellent. We enjoyed each morning. Did not have time to enjoy the bar.
limited parking space. The AC unit was a bit loud.
The staff were quite courteous.
The floors are creaky, parking was poor as I drive a van, the cable only worked for a couple hours out of the entire 3 days, I had to go across the road for breakfast none of which was mentioned until we got there.
Staff was good
Little things that could be improved like a light in the shower that does not drain with door that kept falling off the track. Loose cable wire on stairs can be dangerous
Private Beach is great, breakfast is nice but a bit repetitive. Four poster bed is quite a nice touch. Room itself is spacious, clean and well decorated.
Noise when anyone is staying in the room above - window in the bedroom that allows people to see in when going up the stairs is weird! Restaurant is really expensive and bland. Feels very cheeky not to top up drinking water each day given location away from shops. You really need a rental car if staying here.
I liked the pool, the room, close to good restaurant, very quiet. was just what we were looking for.
sea view was great. Staff was friendly
steps to room weren't very safe. There was a direct stream of water running down the stair case. Seemed to be running off from poor drainage higher up. Made stair case very unsafe and slippery
Very comfortable accomodation Tasty food
Bathroom could be a bit cleaner
The view, the room, the service, and the secluded private beach
Loved the privacy, excellent staff, comfort and great location. Very accommodating.
Zero issues with anything
Location near the beach
Staff was unfriendly, cold
Beautiful old style building a 20 minute walk from the centre of Scarborough. Quiet location with access to beaches five minutes down the hill. We had a large en-suite bedroom with glorious view from the balcony. If you don't want the touristy mayhem of Pigeon Point this is the ideal place to use as a base for exploring Tobago.
Good location, superb breakfast, spacious bathing environment, lovely sea view, friendly staff
Furniture a little bit old, but still a different feeling, not effecting the stay
Great location and room - incredible view of Scarborough. Room was clean and even had a refrigerator.
I loved the venue and the pool
The staff was very friendly and accommodating compared to Grafton Beach Resort Hotel! I would stay here again!
The view was amazing we could see the ferry sailing back to Trinidad
There was no power when we arrived so the place was super hot
Decor - quirky, eclectic and very charming. Relaxed atmosphere - peaceful, beautiful flowers and trees, lots of interesting corners to sit and relax Friendly and helpful staff - going over and above to ensure I had a great stay. Great food (at the Havana Club) - tasty local and international flavours. In room facilities ie coffee/tea amenities, cable tv & great radio/music system.
Having to cross the road to go to the Havana club - you need to be careful.
Excellent breakfast and people. The place is really nice with comfortable rooms and a nice view of the ocean.
The beach is not the best, but is good and you can do snorkeling. The caribbean side has better beaches.
Will visit again my husband and I come to Trinidad and Tobago every year
View and visual presentation of room was beautiful. Liked amenities - refrigerator and music.
Bedding had an unpleasant musky odor. Slept in chair. Bathroom sink was backing up sewer. Reported it. After 24 hrs, still not resolved. No offer to help with luggage up 3 flights of stairs. I checked out after only one night.
The staff at the restaurant were great and made me feel at home. The view from the room was excellent. The location is good. Manager was helpful.
Room was dated. WiFi goes in and out.
reception service pool
room layout see through curtains hard bed
Old, rustic, comfortable
No restaurants nearby, except the hotel's own... pricey
