The remoteness. Not a lot of people around us. Norma, the hostess, was very sweet and helpful.
We liked everything. It is 15 minutes from the airport so that might be a hindrance to some but not if you have a car.
The apt. The price and nearness to beaches is great! Norma, our host was wonderful. We hope to return in the future.
Loud, barking dogs in the neighborhood at times.
The lady who owns the place - Norma - is very nice and will do almost anything to accomodate your needs. The kitchen equipment worked just fine. (We had the apt on the third floor.) The apartment is quite roomy.
You need to be aware of the fact that Bucco, except for the famous sunday school-party with steelpan bands on sunday nights, is not much to see. The beach is ok but the ones in Crown Point (the relaxed Store Bay and the White sanded Pigeon Point) are more beatiful. You need to take a cab to get almost anywhere except for Bucco. However, you will be able to walk to Mt Irvine beach (20 min) which, despite its small size, is nice. There is a reef just 50 feet of the beach and the snorkling is great - we saw a large number of fishes.
Norma is the owner and she will great you when you get there. She will help you with anything you need. We were in the third floor apartment which was great for a couple. We will stay here again the next time we are in Tobago. Short walk to beaches.
We had a really good experience during our three-night stay. The rooms were very clean, and the kitchen was in great shape as well. Good quality pots and pans, plates and stuff...We just did some simple cooking for breakfast, but it served us just fine. The location is money. There are some really tasty restaurants located within walking distance in the town of Buccoo (La Tartaruga, El Pescador), but they are a little pricey by Tobago standards... Totally worth it though. We had a rental car, so it was a quick 10 minute drive to Store Bay and Pigeon Point. A/C was phenomenal. There were pins to hang up your wet towels and suits... very convenient. Oh and the disco-light shower head! Party in the shower! Norma is awesome!
The wifi was tough to pick up on our phones, but was OK on the laptop. We were in the apartment at the back of the building, so that might have been the reason. But really, if you're going to be upset by spotty wifi in a place as beautiful and relaxing as Tobago, then you should probably take a few deep breaths and reassess.
This place is bog, clean, well located. Norma is a great person.
Weak wifi, too hard bed.
We were over the moon with this apartment it was very clean and comfortable. Norma was delightful, we will def stay again
Wifi signal was sketchy at times
The host was great, very professional, well organized and Caring. The place is beautiful, great and easily accessible. We had a great time and felt very safe. We warmly recommend this place.
The hostess, Mrs. Norma is an excellent host!!! Our guest room was super clean and tidy. All new appliances, tastefully decorated, well equipped kitchen. What more is there to ask for?
Not much to say here... Bed was of an excellent quality and new, a little hard for our tastes but I'm definitely not complaining about it. It was still comfy. The free wifi was a little spotty at times but it was free so no complaints here again.
This is a great place with a very nice and friendly hostess that really takes care of the guest. She has a lot of hospitality. A guesthouse I would choose as the first when I return to Tobago. Actually this the guesthouse you shouldn´t tell others about, because it can be fully booked the next time you want to go there.
Miss Norma was amazing!!! We were so busy that we really didn't spend much time at the cozy apartment she set up for us. The pictures look like the facilities only the apartment is much cuter in person.
We are used to a memory foam bed. Sleeping in another type of bed can be difficult for our bodies to adjust to.
Both myself and husband found Tobago tranquil to be a very relaxing and peaceful place with easy access to all the amenities eg: supermarket, small local restaurant, bars, two beaches , Sunday school (a street party which takes place every Sunday and goes on throughout until wee hours of the morning ) and all within a ten min walk from the apartment. The apartment was clean and well kept and had a homely feel from the moment you entered. The owner Norma was such a lovely kind and helpful lady, nothing was too much trouble for her. Would definitely recommend Tobago tranquil and it's lovely surroundings.
Nothing we didn't like
We had been staying at a big resort hotel in Trinidad so this was a chance to experience something a little more local. Norma is charming and so helpful, taking care to ensure we had everything we needed and that we had transport to get to the airport. The apartment is basic but comfortable and well-appointed. The wifi signal is not strong but you can get there if you persevere through the drop outs. I really liked that you could experience village life. El Pescadore restaurant on Buccoo Beach was a real find. Mout Irvine Beach is a fair walk but lovely. You can pay 2TT to use the facilities, and have the privilege of a security guard for your belongings.
I wouldn't be so keen on walking out by myself at night, so stay with a friend. That said, the local people were generally friendly and helpful. Best to have a car although locals were happy to stop and offer you a ride for a small fee.
The shower was really big and there was an ample supply of towels. Shower is best enjoyed with lights off and techno music playing:). Kitchen was well stocked. Even though we were arriving long before check-in time consideration was given for the morning rain, so we got checked in a lot earlier. The place is located away from the usual hustle and bustle in the Crown Point area, but there are several great bathing areas nearby if you rent a car.
Clean rooms Provision of toiletries The Interior Decor Use of wifi A/c Extra Sheets Ms. Norma is very hospitable and friendly
My family and I enjoyed our stay, and did not want to leave. From the tranquility of the area, to the closeness to several beaches, this was one of our best vacation. I did not want the Resort/ Hotel exp. and was not disappointed . Miss Norma, thanks for all . Wayne and Family....see you soon.
Norma was an exceptional host who went our of her way to ensure we had a wonderful stay. She organised trips for us and gave us plenty of information about Tobago. The apartment was spacious and fully equipped.
A taxi is required to travel between towns in Tobago. If possible hire a car.
Vary tranquil just like the name says, but close to every thing. Miss Noma is very friendly and makes you feel right at home.
I felt at home with the décor. It was welcoming and the amenities were excellent. Most of all NORMA is an exceptional hostess.
the attention to detail from Norma lovely lady will definitely recommend.
The owner is very helpful and provides you with excellent customer service The facility is very clean The restaurant around the corner is very nice and popular A small beach is a short walk away Great getaway for a couple who enjoys walking around nature and want relaxation time
A bit far from the city
Ms. Norma runs a top notch establishment here. I will NEVER stay anywhere else when staying in Tobago. She is warm, friendly and engaging. Really our driver and tour guide was AMAZING. These two are truly the DYNAMIC DUO!
We felt like at home. Norma Oneill was a very excellent host! We enjoyed our time in Tobago.
10-15min to the two close beaches by foot. This two beaches are full with Manchineel Trees (take care if you go with kids).
Norma arranged our taxi and hire car, was very friendly and helpful but not pestering. House is lovely, very clean with all amenities and location is good.
location was easily accessible to main road. Quiet village. And you can hear the sea!
