Not much to like. Good position. Complementary food and drinks package was good.
We were made to wait 4 hours for our room. The staff told us they had not received our booking. They used that excuse on other guests. The pool was dirty. The staff seem to think that everything was a hastle. Food was very ordinary. Stay at your own risk.
The resort was quiet and it was truely in a nice setting. The buffet food wAs great even though there was not much of a selection. Drinks were nice and of all variety. Will go again and I would recommend it to anyone. It is far from the attractions so if you want to see Tobago and be near to beaches it's not recommended. Great enough if you wish to seclude yourself and relax
The bed was way too soft for my liking. The pool was closed a bit too often.
on the beach
to many birds flying around the restaurant, and the staff did not care when it was brought to there attention. lack of staff communication on reception. food very poor
All inclusive package for the price.
The property needs major updating in the rooms and front area. I did not like how there was no private carpark for the guest so if you car was stolen/broken in to "the hotel is not to be held liable"
the hotel seemed to be run down
We liked the location.
The service was poor when we were checking in. Also, we didn't get the room we chose and the restrictions for dining.
We had a great stay at the Turtle Beach by Rex Resort . Great location, The food and drinks are endless and good, Staff members are friendly and good sea sports. We will recommend this resort to our others friends and famaly members .
One of our room AC was not working properly and we reported it to be repaired and they did check the unit but it failed a again. Also the Internet was not that great, so we had to sit in the lobby to get a proper connection.
Almost nothing. The worst resort!
Everything. Nasty resort
The pool and room very spacious. The food was ok. The kids had fun in the pool area. It huge with different sections. The drinks including alcoholic beverages.
The poor customer service especially from Ms. Latoya Smart. Not smart at all her response to a question is Ahhh Humm i eh know ah. Majority of the staff need a proper course in customer service especially the ladies. etc. Ms Smart should b sent on one immediately. The guys did a better representation of customer service. No air condition in the reception area so sweating profusely is a must. The place need an upgrade for that type of price being paid.
Stayed at Rex for the weekend(fri-sun) Had the disappointment of a 2hr delayed flight from Trinidad which caused us to get to the hotel around 11pm and seeing nobody at the counter. However, after letting the guard on duty know of the situation the receptionist whose shift was up ensured that we could check in at that time so it was a welcoming sign. The room was clean and comfy, the only problem was the bathroom sink which was attended to within 10 minutes of us making them aware of the situation. The view from the room was amazing, the water was calm, cool and clear. Breakfast and lunch was great. Very tasty and always had a full plate! (I rarely ever finish a full plate lol) Dinner was good, but somehow the expectation died a little when some of the food listed didn't have the taste of what was displayed. Loved the non-motorized water sports. Tried kayaking for the first time and loved it. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Out of all the hotels on the island will definitely be sticking with this one. Definitely got our money's worth.
When I made the booking the hotel advertised free wifi.. however there wasn't. Also hotel policy states that it was a smoke-free hotel and there were guests smoking at the pool areas or while walking around and no member of staff corrected them/enforced hotel policy with regards to that.
The food was always good and their was a large variety of options. I am a vegetarian and my boyfriend is a meat eater and we were both always very happy with the buffet! There is also a few water activites that are a good time, kayaking and paddle boating with snorkel gear was great! THis is a good place to bring kids, since the pool is large and shallow and it is easy to keep an eye on them, but not recommended for a romantic getaway. If you expect a 1 star resort you will be pleasantly surprised by this 2 1/2 star.
When we first arrived, we came to drop our back at 11 am and we were told that we could not utilize the all inclusive until 3 pm and rudely stated that we should come back. When we arrived back at 3:05 they said our room isn't ready and that we will have to wait "indefinitely" to be checked in. There were about 6 other parties waiting to be checked in as well. After waiting over 45 minutes we finally applied enough pressure to get a room and as soon as we walked in to shower we realized there are no bath towels. We had no problem requesting them thinking this was just a simple mistake, but were told that there are NO towels available at this time. Of course we decide then to go to the bar since showering wasn't a possibility and everything we asked we were told NO. No cranberry juice. No apple juice. No tomato juice. So unless we wanted a pre mixed margarita or colada we were basically out of luck. The rooms were not dirty, but they definitely did not look like "resort" hotel rooms, very basic, and dated. We attempted to get a snack in the gift shop, since they only offer food during very limited hours, but was ignored for over 10 minutes so had to leave property to go find food. The dining staff was not unfriendly but couldn't be bothered to even bring me a coke when I requested it, and is clearly poorly trained. This was not a "resort" like sandals or the Ritz Carlton, it is more like a motel with a buffett in a super beautiful location.
Excellent customer service.
Reception did not inform me of the burthday specials available. But the manager took care of everything after.
The beach was exquisite. The staff were friendly and engaging. The food was tasty. It was a relaxing week.
It is an older hotel and the bathrooms could use some renovating. Also they could get new lounge chairs for the pool area. Afternoon tea could have more variation eg. pastries.
Laid back, quiet. All rooms facing the sea, patio in front of room to sit and enjoy looking at the sea. It was good to walk on the beach.
The pool was dirty and not deap enough to swim comfortably. The sea had a dangerous drag so it was not easy to swim in.
Got to see a turtle lay her eggs on the beach. A bar in the pool. Love that they had CARIBS.
I didn't get the room I asked for. Ah little too much walking from my room to the main area. WiFi was a waste of time in my room. Lots of insects in my room. No iron and ironing board. Villagers looking at you while you eat and calling out to hotel guest durning my meals. The bar closed too early for the jazz weekend.
The location was great, easy access to the beach and very quiet. The food was good based on the few meals I actually had there. The overall facilities are good based on the price points
Service levels at the bar were terrible, requested (2) glasses of wine with dinner and had to return 10 minutes later to the bar to get them as the bar tender was busy chatting. Breakfast was served with limited assistance, and it took 20 minutes to get a pot of coffee despite (3) request. The wi-fi was horrible as I could not get a connection in my room at all and when I went outside it was spotty. If they improve the service delivery they could really be an awesome resort. Would need to consider carefully a second stay.
Location was great
Initial room was dirty and not maintained. The coffee machine was broken. The coffee was past it's use by date. I had to wait 45 minutes and complain twice to get a new coffee machine, which is completely unacceptable. I booked a room with one king size bed & got a room with 2 double beds. I was eventually moved to a room that matched my booking but only after spending an evening in this room. Even after discussing the issue with the accountant (as the managers were not on site for the entire time I was there) the new room still had coffee which had passed it's sell by date! Shocking!
Though the was a bit older, I found it to be very clean.
Mosquitoes. I had a couple that bit me while I slept.
The staff was good and very friendly and helpful, the hotel's location to the beach was great, the food was good.
This is a very old hotel, the beds and linen badly needs replacing... the towels were thin and stained... there was a lot of black mould around the pool, at the pool bar and around the plant island in the pool, the pool was dirty and very disgusting.
Two staff members encountered where good. Good wifi service.
Many staff had a poor approach. Food was bland and poor selection. Accomadation was poor - Like Butlins. Very dated... Had to pay for drinking water in bedrooms even though on all inclusive.
The rooms are very well appointed and they all seem to have a sea view. Great views and handy location for exploring the island.
Staff at reception didn't answer calls and wi-fi often disappears. 'Semi-formal' dress code for dinner means that men should wear trousers and a collared shirt! C'mon we are on holiday!
Nothing at all, partially only swimming pool for its vastness and tasty cuisine.
It is no hotel but rather hostel. Hotel from 70´s with old obsolete furniture. The dirty beach with rest of fish visceras and trash - nobody has interest about it. Bothering dogs at the swimming pool and on camp beds. Personal in reception mostly unsmiled and unpleasant. Promising possibility to stay in room (for payment) after check-out time, reality was we had to move out although the hotel was one half full ("system does not allow it"). Promised transport from the ferry port - nobody came, no apology. Two tenis courts - first without net, second with net no fixed - drooping. Old furnished room - 3 stars hotel ? It is joke !
Loved the pool
Had to wait long for my room to be prepared even though I booked in advance
very nice beach
the food the overall upkeep of the resort the 70's chic of the rooms (the bathrooms are new, though) the other "all inclusive" guests at the resort
