People there very friendly, straight onto beach from room food very nice and evening entertainment good
Other beaches on Tobago nicer but hotel settings not as good. It is very relaxed
Rooms open onto beach. Great! Meals ok. Staff respectful.
Mixers in bathroom had us balancing temp of water while we showered. Tricky Pool needs upgrade
The pool area was lovely One or two of the staff were very helpful The beach was relatively empty Free rental of the kayaks, snorkeling gear, etc.
The staff - people were rude and annoyed to deal with us, it took us 90 minutes to get a clean room, despite checking in at 5pm The dining service was slow, it took too long to get coffee or water The wi-fi went out for more than 18 hours and when it worked, it was very slow The room was very mediocre - full of EU plugs, which was a challenge to charge things The food was mediocre, breakfast was probably best, but lunch and dinner were meh. Food, once it ran out, was not replaced The cleanliness of the place: our sink clogged and drained onto the floor from underneath, there was lots of hair (not ours) The AC dripped all over our bags We knew when going here that this place was going to be poor and so we laughed and enjoyed our blast from the past. (The other place we were staying was terrible so we needed something last minute.) It's like a 1960s or 70s throw-back resort. However, if you have any choice, there are better places on the island.
The staff was excellent. the service was very nice.
The drapes in the room was to tin there was to much light coming into the room in the day
Relaxed, all-inclusive. Lovely beach and pool. Fantastic views from balcony.
Rooms need refurbishing.
- The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful.
- We waited over an hour for the room to be ready and was charged for our meals while we waited. - there were not enough towels for our group of three. - there wasn't a selection of fresh fruits or vegetables for children. - there wasn't a selection of beverages for children that were NOT very sweetened. - there was always a pool of standing water outside of our room which attracted mosiquitos. - the wifi signal dropped frequently.
Beach + food and dessert. Kindness of personal
No Wi-fi réception in my room. The Tv = bad réception too and the no smoking policy on site even on the room balcony.
The rooms, hotel and amenities were all very clean. Restaurant was excellent mixing local fare and international cuisine. the Chef made our steaks just the way we liked them. Loved hearing the waves crashing on the beach. Very quiet when we were there,so December is a good time to go.
Our bed had the springs sticking through the mattress, fortunately there were two beds and the other was fine. Also the hotel was 20 % full so plenty of space to put a couple with a new born other than right next to us. We were awakened our last two nights with cries. Otherwise we would have asked to be moved if our stay was longer.
Food was great except for mid afternoon tea could've had more variety than bread and cheese. Entertainment at night was awesome! Bar staff is friendly. Food was always ready on time and very tasty
Wanted to do more than just swim and sunbathe so more planned activities for guests would be greatly appreciated.
birds, flowers, shrubs
locals who harass guests at seawall
The pool is divine. Im not a swimmer so I appreciated that the entire pool was 3'6" and for visitors who desired more depth, the beach would be ideal. The children's pool is perfect and safe for them. The food was excellent, the chefs are truly talented. Everything i ate tasted delicious and there was so much variety. I would visit again just for the food. The ambiance is worth the money.
The wifi did not work in the rooms at all, there was absolutely no wifi. I had to go all the way to the lobby to get but i didnt need it because i was so engulfed in great meals, drinks and pool fun.
The beach was fabulous.
The pool wasn't fit for swimming. Although pretty, the water wasn't filtered properly.
The taste of the food was great. Parking spot was okay.
What i didn't like was that the swimming pool was way dirty. The different dishes weren't enough compared to other places, and because i was a trinidadian, i approached the restaurant and one of the staff members told me i had to remove my hat from my head and just next to me there was a white guy who was also wearing a hat and he didn't tell him anything. When i made a comment about it to the staff member, he said that he didn't see when the white guy entered the restaurant.
Not much to like. Good position. Complementary food and drinks package was good.
We were made to wait 4 hours for our room. The staff told us they had not received our booking. They used that excuse on other guests. The pool was dirty. The staff seem to think that everything was a hastle. Food was very ordinary. Stay at your own risk.
The resort was quiet and it was truely in a nice setting. The buffet food wAs great even though there was not much of a selection. Drinks were nice and of all variety. Will go again and I would recommend it to anyone. It is far from the attractions so if you want to see Tobago and be near to beaches it's not recommended. Great enough if you wish to seclude yourself and relax
The bed was way too soft for my liking. The pool was closed a bit too often.
on the beach
to many birds flying around the restaurant, and the staff did not care when it was brought to there attention. lack of staff communication on reception. food very poor
All inclusive package for the price.
The property needs major updating in the rooms and front area. I did not like how there was no private carpark for the guest so if you car was stolen/broken in to "the hotel is not to be held liable"
the hotel seemed to be run down
We liked the location.
The service was poor when we were checking in. Also, we didn't get the room we chose and the restrictions for dining.
We had a great stay at the Turtle Beach by Rex Resort . Great location, The food and drinks are endless and good, Staff members are friendly and good sea sports. We will recommend this resort to our others friends and famaly members .
One of our room AC was not working properly and we reported it to be repaired and they did check the unit but it failed a again. Also the Internet was not that great, so we had to sit in the lobby to get a proper connection.
Almost nothing. The worst resort!
Everything. Nasty resort
The pool and room very spacious. The food was ok. The kids had fun in the pool area. It huge with different sections. The drinks including alcoholic beverages.
The poor customer service especially from Ms. Latoya Smart. Not smart at all her response to a question is Ahhh Humm i eh know ah. Majority of the staff need a proper course in customer service especially the ladies. etc. Ms Smart should b sent on one immediately. The guys did a better representation of customer service. No air condition in the reception area so sweating profusely is a must. The place need an upgrade for that type of price being paid.
Stayed at Rex for the weekend(fri-sun) Had the disappointment of a 2hr delayed flight from Trinidad which caused us to get to the hotel around 11pm and seeing nobody at the counter. However, after letting the guard on duty know of the situation the receptionist whose shift was up ensured that we could check in at that time so it was a welcoming sign. The room was clean and comfy, the only problem was the bathroom sink which was attended to within 10 minutes of us making them aware of the situation. The view from the room was amazing, the water was calm, cool and clear. Breakfast and lunch was great. Very tasty and always had a full plate! (I rarely ever finish a full plate lol) Dinner was good, but somehow the expectation died a little when some of the food listed didn't have the taste of what was displayed. Loved the non-motorized water sports. Tried kayaking for the first time and loved it. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Out of all the hotels on the island will definitely be sticking with this one. Definitely got our money's worth.
When I made the booking the hotel advertised free wifi.. however there wasn't. Also hotel policy states that it was a smoke-free hotel and there were guests smoking at the pool areas or while walking around and no member of staff corrected them/enforced hotel policy with regards to that.
The food was always good and their was a large variety of options. I am a vegetarian and my boyfriend is a meat eater and we were both always very happy with the buffet! There is also a few water activites that are a good time, kayaking and paddle boating with snorkel gear was great! THis is a good place to bring kids, since the pool is large and shallow and it is easy to keep an eye on them, but not recommended for a romantic getaway. If you expect a 1 star resort you will be pleasantly surprised by this 2 1/2 star.
When we first arrived, we came to drop our back at 11 am and we were told that we could not utilize the all inclusive until 3 pm and rudely stated that we should come back. When we arrived back at 3:05 they said our room isn't ready and that we will have to wait "indefinitely" to be checked in. There were about 6 other parties waiting to be checked in as well. After waiting over 45 minutes we finally applied enough pressure to get a room and as soon as we walked in to shower we realized there are no bath towels. We had no problem requesting them thinking this was just a simple mistake, but were told that there are NO towels available at this time. Of course we decide then to go to the bar since showering wasn't a possibility and everything we asked we were told NO. No cranberry juice. No apple juice. No tomato juice. So unless we wanted a pre mixed margarita or colada we were basically out of luck. The rooms were not dirty, but they definitely did not look like "resort" hotel rooms, very basic, and dated. We attempted to get a snack in the gift shop, since they only offer food during very limited hours, but was ignored for over 10 minutes so had to leave property to go find food. The dining staff was not unfriendly but couldn't be bothered to even bring me a coke when I requested it, and is clearly poorly trained. This was not a "resort" like sandals or the Ritz Carlton, it is more like a motel with a buffett in a super beautiful location.
