The price was ok and the location was decent if central Hualien is tour interest, however it is about 3km from the train station.
Far from the train station, so if you're maning excursions to the surrounding area, the location is far from ideal. The room was not very clean and had a clear odor of sweaty feet.
The size of the room
The service staff did not provide room service and clean up the room as expected. The lift was also very small, not suitable for travelers with many or large pieces of luggage.
place was really central and i would definitely recommend it for this money. the guys from the hotel also gave me a bike for free to ride around. they were pretty helpful.
they didn't clean the room once in the 2 days i was there. it didn't bother me much and i think they would have done it if i asked them
They arranged a experienced driver to bring us to taroko gorge. The staffs were quite friendly. Shops a walkable distance nearby
brighter lights in the room needed Bicycles only to ride around the city though we wanted to ride all the way to the beach. Located not along the main road.Bed is quite hard
Strategic location, clean with friendly and helpful staff.
Great value hotel in an excellent location in central Hualien. Don't expect luxury, but for the price this was a comfortable and well-appointed place to stay.
The people were very kind and did their utmost to assist you and were very creative in supplying you the right information and in English.
Good service and helpful friendly staff. The receptionist showed some initiative to find out info about train and bus schedules. The cook was friendly who found time to chat. Breakfast was reasonable and adequate .
In a quiet place and inadequately lit street, but safe area. Shower heater was a little dodgy- don't know when the hot water will spurt out.
Friendly and helpful staff - like giving info as where to eat ( even at 2 am), where to buy things. Dining /kitchen staff also.
Access to dining area not handicapped friendly - need to go/up down lots steps... No lift !!
Overall the room was not too bad despite quite a few negative aspects, the hotel itself looked nice, good deal for the price, staff was helpful.
The aircon (which luckily wasn't needed in that season) was a bit dodgy, noisy and smelling fungus. Bed was unbelievably hard, pretty much like sleeping on the floor. All the electricity plugs were ungrounded (so you can't use plugs with the round earth pin, nor any device that requires earth), but I could borrow a suitable adapter from reception. The door lock doesn't close easy, it took me a while to figure out how to move the key to close it. Noise from street at ground floor, it's normally quiet but when it's noisy you can hear it as if they were into the room. Breakfast not too exciting, limited selection (and no normal tea!), not particularly clean. Location not very convenient, as you need to take a taxi (or walk half an hour) to reach the new train station and bus stop to Taroko (but that's just like everything else in Hualien downtown, it's more of a fault of city planners that decided to move the station so much outside).
Good location in a quiet quarter nearby shopping street and 15 min by walk from night market.
Near the city centre, helpful staff
Cleanliness and unique design of the hotel
