Location is ok but if you want to be near market and food best stay near the night market.
Very bad smell of cigarettes in the room.Staff attempted to get rid of the smell but gave up.Most Hotels these days have a major fine in place for people smokimg in the room.Does not seem to be the case here even though the room is advertised as non smoking. One staff member at the beginning was very nonchalant about it to start with. Also when asked for a bottle opener he advised there was none. The staff in the restaurant were much more obliging.
Quite despite near the main road
quite a distance to train station
Another example of the extreme friendliness and helpfulness of the Taiwanese people whom we have been fortunate to meet. Everything was done at the Ocean Hotel to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. The manager even changed the tv channel in the restaurant to CNN ( we'd have preferred no tv at all, but he was being so kind ). Comfortable rooms and beds. Nice outdoor bar on the 5th floor with a view over the port.
The odd goldfish bowl design of the bathroom - ok if you are intimate with your room mate, but even so...Nice bar, but nothing to drink !!
rooms small, location noisy, staff unfriendly, absolutely no value for money
Clean hotel. Roof terrace.
We got upgraded to ocean view room. That is nice but the window faces the main street and on the balcony, lights were on as part of hotel's external presentation from about 6 pm to 10:30 pm. That means that to sleep before 10:30, you have to have the drapes shut, and you cannot really sit on the balcony with windows open, to avoid mosquitos.
