It was lovely and we got to see the history of the slave trade (albeit sadly as it was a horrendous practice). The beaches are also very beautiful (Jambiani Beach was where we mostly went.) The spice farm tour and markets were lovely as we got all kinds of fresh spices. However, it is very tourist-centric. Nice place but be aware that it’s crowded - by lots of tourists and then of course even the aggressive up in your face wanting to touch you sellers there too. Stonetown is a cute, small city with arab influence. It is worth taking the boat to prison island to learn more about the history and see the turtles. 2 days is sufficient. In the evening there is a night market with different food stalls.

Relaxed lunches at the high terraces of the Swahili house and Emerson house.
