meals little bit too expensive no airconditioning - only fan which was quite loud no free activities and facilities like bikes, kayak etc..
veeery nice and friendly staff, also owners ;) hotel is small, cozy in amazing african style - u can fully relax there coz it is really quiet place. u gonna feel at home here for sure ;)
I just found the atmosphere strange as the place is run by expats who seem to over-power the place a bit. Also the bed was really uncomfortable and the food was expensive. Also, if you stay here it is good to try and support the locals as much as possible as the town seems quite poor. We tried to do this as much as possible, especially as the hotel prices were so high.
The local staff were amazing, were super friendly and the snorkeling trip was great. The place is nice and you can walk straight onto the beach.
Since the low tide (some days) appears almost the hole day and you need to walk very long for a swimit it would have been nice with little pool to cool down in.
The owners and crew are very nice and helpful. The hotel is very clean, cosy and nice decorate. We stayed in one of the jungle rooms witch has its own lounge/terasse! Kitchen is good but you pay for it as you do for the room. Right behind the hotel there is a little village where you can find 1-2 local restaurangs and fruit shops.
The room safe is not large enough to accommodate a iPad or laptop despite the staff warning that the rooms is close to the beach and you have to hang your key in a communal space if you want it cleaned, dinner is required to be ordered in the morning, which is very inflexible, it's hot and there's no aircon and you can't leave the doors open because it's unsafe, they bought us an industrial fan which sounded like a plan landing.
The bartenders and waitstaff were lovely, the grounds were small and well kept, the room was spacious.
good food, friendly staff. nice accomodations
Amazing hotel in African style , with very nice garden, amazing rooms . The best point is that the owners are very nice italian couple who are really looking after guests and care about providing nice service. Nice alcohol drinks . Very helpful personnel . We like rely a lot
The food is expensive although is very tasty
The staff was very friendly. The local children are playing near the hotel on the beach. the hotel is away from tourist attractions, so when we went to a walk on the beach, there where not too many beach boys.
Good location Good service Good value
Pricey juices and excursions Muslims: pork dishes on the menu meaning non-halal kitchen. Snorkling great for boat trip not for underwater views (a lot of coral has been destroyed, few fishes)
Location , location, location Beach view rooms great (non beach view rooms (2) a bit dark. Surrounded by nice little village, do venture out.
Didn't like that there was no drinking water kept in the room and that you had to buy it everytime you wanted one. Felt the hospitality was purely business and not naturally welcoming. Hotel arranged a local buffet which cost 25$ however still no water was included and we had to buy our own on top of the buffet price.
Loved the local touch in the location. Hotel Staff were superb, especially Hassan and Francis. Food was great.
Feels like a home away from home. The beaches of Zanzibar are gorgeous and it was lovely to be away from tourists while still having many restaurants to eat at. The decor is gorgeous and the staff are phenomenal. Loved it here!! Will definitely stay again.
Excursion and transfer costs were slightly overpriced. Worth looking around in Jambiani to get a competitive price. Wifi had tendency to cut out in the room however in a place like this it was nice to get away from being online. Check out lacked the personal feel we got on reception however this is a very minor point.
Opted for the balcony sea view room of which there are two in the hotel and worth every penny for stunning views over the beautiful beach. Sitting on the balcony allows you to view amazing sunset and sunrise views without hassel from the beach whilst being blown gently by the consistent breeze which keeps you cool. Perfect! Warm reception and staff couldn't do enough for us. Room decor is unique and very charming. Shower and facilities fantastic given rural location on island. Plenty of restaurants close by to choose from. Suggest booking a snorkeling trip on a local fishing boat as opposed to the larger tourist boats. Great experience.
We had a fantastic stay in Mamamapambo. Staff was so kind and friendly. The village of Jambiani is amazing, it's pure Zanzíbar, kids playing football, women fishing at the beach, fishermen in wood boats going to the reef to fish, we joined them and was increadible. The hotel is cozy and very nice decorated. The food is really good also. Thank you Paolo and Cristina! We had a wonderfull honeymoon.
The food, drinks and transport was overprized.
It was a good atmosphere and really nice rooms.
It is probably made for couples and it was not very easy if you wanted to go out in the evening for food or drinks.
Very cozy small hotel with very friendly staff! Nice quiet beach which felt very authentic.
The rooms fronting the road on the backside are dark and boring.
The location is fantastic if you get a room fronting the ocean. The staff is friendly, helpful & eager to make your stay as great as possible.
