Bwejuu is set on a beautiful beach north of Paje. There’s a lot to do in the area (caves, forests , spice farms, Rock restaurant) and lots of bars and restaurants however you’ll need transportation to access them.
We travelled around the entire island in an hire car which I would highly recommend, was great fun and easy to find our way around. I would say this area is more dirty and littered which is a shame as the rest of the country is really well kept.

We were a family of 10 people.
We were a family of 10 people. I did not expect to walk in sand all over the place. The foliage kept it a little cooler. The pool was fine and clean. I did not expect no air conditioning and trying to stay cool with a standing room fan.
Food was Ok - nothing special. The drive from the airport after dark was dangerous. The walk to the beach was short. A few restaurants were open down the beach.
We moved to another resort just down the street after one night and had clean rooms, air conditioning, on the beach, great meals. We kept our keys because they said we could not get a refund for the 2nd and 3rd nights we had reserved. They said we could come back and use the pool but did rent out our rooms from the 2nd & 3rd nights.
It was more like a hostel but was not advertised well on Booking.com

Bwejuu is the most cleanest and secluded beach of Zanzibar.
Bwejuu is the most cleanest and secluded beach of Zanzibar. The location is perfect for witnessing magical sunrises. We did our wedding at the beach and it was just like a fairytale.

Bwejuu is a small village with two shops where you can buy groceries and cosmetics. There is public transport there. In the vicinity is bigger village of Paje where there are more restaurants and shops.
The beach is absolutely beautiful - white sand, wide a very long (excellent for walks and looking for shells), few people there.
The best restaurants are Shanti café and Sahari.
You can hire kite board there and teacher for kite boarding.
8 km from Bwejuu is beautiful place where you can watch sunset and enjoy big bar with excellent drinks and good music for dancing.

Bwejuu has a great beach.
Bwejuu has a great beach. It is relatively quiet with only a few people working the beach to sell tours etc. We met some friendly locals and joined in some birthday celebrations, which was fun.
Best be aware that there is a big tide so you can’t swim all the time. When the tide is in, the water is shallow and very warm.
In the evenings there is a warm breeze that is refreshing and keeps the mosquitoes away.

Bwejuu area is very disappointing.
Bwejuu area is very disappointing. It has a beach that cannot be enjoyed, far from everywhere, much more expensive than Nungwi and much lower quality. It is a complete mess. I don’t understand why Paje and Bwejuu area are so famous
The restaurant a la carte had really good food. The best thing about the hotel is the manager Sasha. She is really great, willing to help you with everything. I feel bad to have written the bad parts of this review cause of her.
The pool was ok (with crabs in it), beach was ok as well (not the best beach in Zanzibar).
Great amount of cats on the property, and lizards coming in and out of the room, not a place for you if you don't like animals (we did not mind that at all).
This is a great, boutique resort at the beach.
The advantages include:
- fantastic rooms and common spaces - very spacious, greatly furnished
- excellent, friendly staff
- given the compact size, great privacy and ability to disconnect
- direct access to the beach
- tasty food (albeit the portions are fairly small and selection is limited). Couple of options walking distance from the hotel on the beach plus guests can ask for specials to be prepared
Nice small hotel with very friendly owners pair:)
Just at the beach, you can borrow bicycles, beach shoes. Breakfast fresh, tasty and not repeating every morning. A lot of fresh fruits! You can enjoy also a good lunch or dinner, if you do not want to go to some other places.
Nobody disturbs you on the beach!
Paje beach with many kite surfing schools and more bars/ restaurants just 10 min by bicycle.
Small but beautiful and aesthetically pleasing hotel with attention to details, helpful stuff and good access to the beach. The area is quite quiet but you can access more busy Paje in 10 min by taxi. We had breakfast only, the choices are quite limited, however everything we ate was very delicious (which is rare compare to typical breakfast buffet). I wish to stay longer!
Appreciated the location as it’s away from the busy centre of Paje. Lovely grounds & rooms. Quite charming..every seat is purposefully in place to give you a view. Great pool, but couldn’t use it with rain season. Breakfast is great, even if you’re paying extra for the espresso.. The best we had in Zanzibar. Staff very accommodating and available. Worth the stay!
The location of the hotel is good. It is a 10/15 minute drive to 'The Rock' restaurant which really is a must during your trip to Zanzibar, and Paje, a town nearby, is lively and has interesting restaurants and food courts. The beach is nice and wide, and there are good sporting facilities e.g. volleyball nets, basketball, ping pong for those interested.
I definitely enjoyed during my vacation. The hotel is very clean, foods are very good (I will miss the grilled octopus and bruschetta a lot)
There are several comfortable relaxation places inside the hotel rather than the beach side.
This hotel is very comfortable and the staff is very helpful and friendly.
Sahari hotel is highly recommended.
Dreamy property, we were a family of 5 traveling for the Christmas holidays.
The property is so well maintained, it is lush and green, beautifully located on the beach. The villas are spaced out and you feel total privacy and peace. Everyone is so caring and nothing is ever too much trouble.
Asante Sana to the team at Baraza!
Beautiful hotel with spacious, comfortable rooms. Located in peaceful Bwejuu, just 5 minutes from the beach but within walking distance of Paje and all the nightlife. The food in the restaurant is excellent with really nice breakfast, the owner and the staff are very kind, helpful and welcoming, I highly recommend!
the pool is amazing, the rooms also, the whole hotel is very well maintained. the staff were all very friendly and nice. we had a great time! the hotel is a good 20min walk from the busy and crowded Paje beach and we preferred its quieter location whilst still being able to walk or bike on the beach into Paje.
We spent a week in Zanzibar in 3 different hotels close in price and this was clearly the best. Everything was excellent from the reception, to the room, the pool and the restaurant directly on the beach and the staff was very kind and smiling all the time.
The Hotel is nestled in the second row behind another hotel. The beach is close but the acces is not very clean. The room was very nice and spacious, the pool was very nice, not too much chlorine and everything was very clean and well kept.
Very kind hosts and staff who made us feel at home.
Small scale hotel with only a few rooms.
Great cuisine from the French/Italian owner duo.
Amazing and quiet location right on the beach in Bwejuu and only a short walk from busy Paje.
We liked the location of the villa, there was a very nice hotel next to us which has a really good breakfast options. We also liked the rooms of the villa and had a very nice maasai security.
Relax vibe, the luxury of this place is not the room but the outside space available for each guest. Not crowded, relaxed, real beach experience, away from the crowds. Good value for money
I enjoyed my 5 day stay at the Blue palm zanzibar hotel. The breakfast was great and staff was over welcoming and would defintely recommend anyone going to Zanzibar to go to this hotel.
