The house was really cosy, furnitures were nice, the view of ocean was great. Perfect place for people who are looking for some rest, without noise and full of nature. Duwa and Mostafa were really friendly and taking good care of us. Duwa arranged a nice tour (dolphin, prison island & stone town) and the meals Mostafa cooked were very delicious.

The management charged the full amount as we made our booking from We did not realise until the last moment. Another issue was that, the manager promised us to arrange a taxi to pick us up from the airport and take to the hotel. Yet nobody appeared. Since it was around 1am and there were no signs for the hotel, finding the house was quite hard. The surrounding of the house is a poor village with no-window and burnt houses, so in the middle of the night, arriving there after all the troubles, makes you question yourself 'was this house really a good choice?'. Thanks god there was the owner of the restaurant near the house and he gave us detailed information and helped us to calm down. On the other day, we made our complaints to Duwa, but all he could do was saying: manager is in Poland and she did not informed me.

There was some confusion about if the price was to be charged on the credit card or had to be paid to the hostel. I paid locally but was able to get it refunded by the manager Kassim Miliki after it was confirmed that has charged my credit card. The hostel is right at the beach. Some restaurants and shops are around.

The polish owner is not present at the hostel and the local staff maintains it "at good African standard". E.g. the water pump to the toilet on the second floor turned off every now and then. The stairway to the 2nd was missing a plank and moved when we walked on it. The toilet seat on the groundfloor should at least be fixed with 2 screws. The night we stayed we where not even given a key for our room.

    The position

    - No signs on the road neither a panel next to the house, almost impossible to find - no running water (which was present in all other places in the village, also the local huts!) - disgusting toilet - windows without glass, so the room was cold (no blankets available). - the stairs to go to the first floor is very unstable and dangerous - no one took our names, neither checked our booking. we could be anyone!
