Diligence Hotel

Location. Night clerk was very helpful. Nice decor.

Day clerk was not helpful, and pushed for spending further money at the hotel and its restaurant. Uncomfortable bed. Persistent strong unpleasant remaining "perfume" smell in bathroom from cleaning agent. No elevator for three stories. Over-priced restaurant.

The courtesy, friendliness and professionalism of the staff, especially Natalia (Front Desk) and most of the restaurant staff. Their customer service skills were first rate!

The iron & ironing board on the Third floor. The iron needs replacing in my opinion - the thermostat appeared to be faulty and I almost burnt a whole in my shirt. Also the limited choice (one only) of beer in the mini-bar was a little disappointing. However, in the overall scheme of things isn't wasn't a big problem.

the restuarant was excellent, the staff was very helpful, the room was quiet and clean and the location was central to banks and exchanges.

The staff was extremely friendly and tailored to my every need. I do not speak Russian or Ukrainian so it was nice to have a staff that spoke English. I enjoyed the breakfast which kept me full all day! The food was excellent whether you had breakfast or even decided to have dinner. Also having a mini bar in my room was an added bonus. I was happy the hotel had Wi-Fi which made me keeping in touch back home easy.

I only wish the Wi-Fi was stronger. I barely got a signal in my room and sometimes could not get a signal at all. Overall I was able to use it but sometimes it became frustrating. On my next stay I will make sure to take a Wi-Fi booster just in case.

Very clean. The restaurant produced very good food, well presented, but the wine is excessively expensive.

Not as described. I ordered a suite (to me this means a separate area for working at the least, if not a separated bedroom, and a proper bathroom). This was just an ordinary bedroom with a desk. The girl at the desk was much keener on saying that it was not the hotel's fault than in trying to find me an alternative. The furniture and fittings are clean but old and worn. I had not realised that there is a non-smoking policy and had to pay almost the price of the room additionally. The bathroom only had a shower cabinet, not a bath. No lift and no bell-boy, so if you have luggage ... be prepared to heave it up yourself!

The room was very nice and the staff were all very friendly. I had no complaints at all. Breakfast was included every day and filling out the breakfast menu request for the following day was a novel idea for me.

Superb service and comfortable accommodations.

It wasn't within easy walking distance of city center.

Staff was friendly, spoke good english (important), hotel was beautifully decorated with wood accents.

Diligence has best cafe. I love breakfast in am and I love dessert in pm.

Restaurant sehr gut - nicht billig. Nutzungsmöglichkeiten für Laptop ausgezeichnet. Reception sehr freundlich - Englisch gut.

Frühstück: Man muss am Tag vorher unterschreiben, was man am nächsten Tag essen will. Kein Buffet - keine Bestellung möglich. Wenn man die Frühstücksbestellung nicht abgibt, wird man rücksichtslos telefonisch verfolgt - spät abends oder sehr früh morgens! Keine Gnade! Man wird deshalb sogar geweckt!

Très bruyant, même la nuit. Il faut dire que j'étais logé au 1er étage (rez-de chaussée) où il y avait beaucoup de passage. La prochaine fois, je demanderai d'être logé à un étage supérieur.

Excellent staff, especially the lady at the reception desk with long black hair.

My only suggestion is that you install "blackout drapes" in Room 13, so a guest can keep the sun out if so desired.

Background music very, very nice but no one could tell me information regarding album or name of singer (Portuguese language of Brazilian style).
