The place was very fortunate, a few steps from Metro (both to the Center and to my business). The room was comfortable. The water cranes were in a somewhat bad shape, not smoothly (continuously) to regulate. That's all.

The location next to the Metro is very convenient The internet was down very often. The staff does not speak English well so it was not easy to communicate. The smoking room does not keep the smoke inside and it smells really bad around it.

The staff is friendly and speaks good English, the room was clean and comfortable and the hotel has a nice, quiet location next to the Ivan Franko Park (but within walking distance from the city center). It seems to be the traditional business hotel in town but would also be good for families.

It's an old hotel but it has a classical touch. For the price I was fine with the room, the bathroom and other facilities. They have a 24 hours cafe inside where you can buy drinks or even a chocolate. An ATM machine is also in the building. It was nicely quiet. The internet connection was ok but not really great. In the room it was a little cold and I had to use the air condition to heat it up which took a long time. The air conition made annoying sounds, so I could not really let it run in the night.

Nice hotel with nice rooms. Used as a transit hotel for an overnight stay in Kiev. There were shortages of wi-fi, but the problem was solved. Convenient car parking next to the hotel, helpful staff. No bar, but there is a market in the hotel and shop around. Features a large refrigerator, mini-bar instead. The water from the cooler, not dummies.

It was friendly staff who splavel all the problems during my stay at Kiev. The rommed was cleaned every day with changing towels and periodically bed-linen. There was boiler at my disposal with clean cold and hot water and tea and coffee on the table of the room. Thank you very much! Strange that when I asked the receptionist about how to get to the airport, she gave me information about the most expesive way (taxi of 300 grivens), later I learnt that there were cheaper taxis and bus goes from railway station. I think the staff should possess complete information about this question and give it to the customer.

The hotel is next to subway station. When I asked them to wash my clothes, they didn't do that. So when I came back they could just say "The clothes are clean and no need to wash". Finally they did it but I had to get up earlier in the next morning to package as I could not get them prepared last night.

Close to metro - 4 stops to centre of Kiev - decent value in economy twin compared with some other hotels. A bit eastern block in style - shower had tendency to flood floor.

We stayed here during the Euro 2012 football tournament, and unlike other Kyiv hotels the Mir resisted the urge to hike their prices to astronomical levels, so fair play for that. As such, the hotel was reasonable value for money. In terms of location, the hotel is out of central Kyiv, but there is a metro stop right outside so no problems there - unless, of course, you are returning to the hotel after a late night out as the metros stop running a little after midnight. Then, you have to get a taxi. There is a supermarket next door, and shops over the road from the hotel selling snacks, drinks, etc. There is also a park with a lake opposite, that has a nice restaurant. The hotel is odd in that it is housed in two buildings, so you may have to trek from reception to your room through the adjoining corridors! There is a bar, which is small but does the job. We didnt use the restaurant, so can't comment. Rooms are comfy enough, but nothing special. Free wi-fi throughout the hotel. Overall, a typical Eastern bloc hotel, really - nothing too special, but cheap enough and does the job. Front entrance to hotel near the reception is on a (small) but steep hill, and a set of steps, so not ideal for elderly or infirm. Located away from the centre of Kyiv, so a taxi ride is needed if you are returning after midnight. Located on top of a busy road network, so can be a bit noisy if your room overlooks this.
