Very good,
Score from 346 reviews
“ Excellent location, a walking distance to Kreschatik, and the subway station is 100 metros from the entrance. Both the spa and the fitness center are small, but have all the necessary equipment and services. Overall, a conviniently located, well staffed and well equipped hotel. ”

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights over the New Year and unfortunately I have mixed feelings about the Riviera Boutique Hotel. The 'Boutique' name is a bit of a joke. The hotel is beautiful from the outside (especially at night) and was well decorated. It's situated in quite a good location next to the funicular and a subway - maybe only 5 to 10mins away from the heart of the city of Kiev if you take the subway. The restaurant and dining room are well decorated and furnished and the breakfast was one of the best I've had in a long time - sausage, eggs and Ukrainian style pancakes and savoury pastry items were excellent. The minibar in the room was very reasonably priced but the spa seemed very expensive. My conclusion is that this hotel could be a great place to stay in Kiev if the hotel staff provided a more professional and friendly service. I can't fully recommend this hotel but only because of the bad and rude service from staff. However, bad service is common in Ukraine and you could find the same problem in any other hotel in Kiev. It's a shame that this is one of those hotels. The major problem at this hotel is the bad service. The hotel should review the performance of their staff. On arrival the lady and gentleman on reception that did the check-in were professional and were friendly as expected at a boutique hotel and our baggage was brought to our room promptly. However, the rest of the staff were rude and didn't seem to care about the guests - my wife agreed. One example was at breakfast time when I asked at the bar for more coffee. The barman said simply, 'no coffee, 5mins'. He didn't even check whether new coffee was available or not, he simply assumed the machine was still brewing coffee and that it would be available in 5mins. I returned to my table and 20seconds later or sooner a new canister of coffee was placed on the counter of the bar but he failed to tell me that new coffee was available. Had he bothered to check the machine (when I first asked) he would've found that coffee was available to serve immediately. This type of service would not be tolerated in a Western European hotel and definitely not in a boutique establishment. Another example was upon check-out. The man serving was abrupt and tossed papers (throwing them to one side to another) - sighing constantly. He did this 3 or 4 times. This creates a very bad impression in a hotel and one is inclined to think that the staff resent their job and guests too. The room (apparently a business double, but seemed a bit small for the category) was reasonably modern but quite tired in places. I noticed a lot of stains on the carpet and bleach marks on the carpet in the room and throughout the hotel - far more than in any other hotel that I've stayed in recently. My opinion is that this hotel doesn't meet the standard of boutique.

It's a nice hotel with quite helpful staff, and clean and nice rooms. Very good location. Also good breakfast. Last time I stayed I forgot my jacket in the wardrobe, and this time I thought to pick it up. Despite staff claiming they keep every forgotten item for 6 months, they weren't able to locate the jacket. I assume it was stolen by one of the cleaning staff. At the reception staff was quite indifferent to a problem, trying to make me think I lost is somewhere else. While otherwise great hotel, this left a bitter taste.

Just situated beside the funicular going up to the beautiful town of Kiev. Staff was kind. In general the hotel seems to be more modern style than average. Breakfast rather marginal - but this seems to be standard in Ukraine.

I think this hotel is prety good, It's a little expensive, but the hotel in Europe countries always at this price, that is understandable, the hotel staff is nice, the hotel is nice, the food is also nice... but I do not think the location is good, because we can not see the beautiful interesting places in Kiev, and it is a little far from the airport, it will cost you like 50-1 hour. All in all, prety good, I can score this hotel 85
