Very good,
Score from 371 reviews
“ Excellent location, a walking distance to Kreschatik, and the subway station is 100 metros from the entrance. Both the spa and the fitness center are small, but have all the necessary equipment and services. Overall, a conviniently located, well staffed and well equipped hotel. ”

Great location 15 mins walk to main maiden square or right outside metro and funicular station. Clean big comfort rooms, free WiFi (bit patchy signal, but allows work to be done) amazing buffet breakfast, really friendly staff, lovely restaurant on top floor. Seemed to be a lot of external functions held in the top floor summer terrance which closed it off to hotel residents. Not major but on a sunny day would have been nice to relax up there with a drink.

Breakfast in the Wintergarden Welcome. Bellboys liked to watch how we transported ourselves the luggage. As well as during arrival as during check-out. No any enthusiasm from all Reception staff. Hell and heaven compared with the friendliness in Opera Hotel in Kiev.

Clean, spacious room, wi-fi, comfortable bed. Poor breakfast quality. Constant noise from ventilation equipment a floor above of my room. All-night wedding party in the hotel's restaurant next to my room. It was my last time in this hotel.

Our staying was perfect! Spectacular view from windows, good hotel accommodation, good hotel's taxis, clean comfortable room, tasty breakfast, excellent staff. Always ask a bill at the restaurant. Sommelier Alexey is always trying to take the sum is more than the price at the menu, despite the generous tip (we left not less than 10%).

I stayed at this hotel for 2 nights over the New Year and unfortunately I have mixed feelings about the Riviera Boutique Hotel. The 'Boutique' name is a bit of a joke. The hotel is beautiful from the outside (especially at night) and was well decorated. It's situated in quite a good location next to the funicular and a subway - maybe only 5 to 10mins away from the heart of the city of Kiev if you take the subway. The restaurant and dining room are well decorated and furnished and the breakfast was one of the best I've had in a long time - sausage, eggs and Ukrainian style pancakes and savoury pastry items were excellent. The minibar in the room was very reasonably priced but the spa seemed very expensive. My conclusion is that this hotel could be a great place to stay in Kiev if the hotel staff provided a more professional and friendly service. I can't fully recommend this hotel but only because of the bad and rude service from staff. However, bad service is common in Ukraine and you could find the same problem in any other hotel in Kiev. It's a shame that this is one of those hotels. The major problem at this hotel is the bad service. The hotel should review the performance of their staff. On arrival the lady and gentleman on reception that did the check-in were professional and were friendly as expected at a boutique hotel and our baggage was brought to our room promptly. However, the rest of the staff were rude and didn't seem to care about the guests - my wife agreed. One example was at breakfast time when I asked at the bar for more coffee. The barman said simply, 'no coffee, 5mins'. He didn't even check whether new coffee was available or not, he simply assumed the machine was still brewing coffee and that it would be available in 5mins. I returned to my table and 20seconds later or sooner a new canister of coffee was placed on the counter of the bar but he failed to tell me that new coffee was available. Had he bothered to check the machine (when I first asked) he would've found that coffee was available to serve immediately. This type of service would not be tolerated in a Western European hotel and definitely not in a boutique establishment. Another example was upon check-out. The man serving was abrupt and tossed papers (throwing them to one side to another) - sighing constantly. He did this 3 or 4 times. This creates a very bad impression in a hotel and one is inclined to think that the staff resent their job and guests too. The room (apparently a business double, but seemed a bit small for the category) was reasonably modern but quite tired in places. I noticed a lot of stains on the carpet and bleach marks on the carpet in the room and throughout the hotel - far more than in any other hotel that I've stayed in recently. My opinion is that this hotel doesn't meet the standard of boutique.
