Clean, neat, comfortable, easy too public transportation and good Eats.
Very small bed, clean but funny smelling bed sheets, bad noice isolation
The location Friendly and helpful staff
Room felt almost cell like tiny bed with very soft mattress, impossible for 2 people to get a good nights sleep stained carpets poor choice of toiletries
staff were very attentive
The king bed. The air con worked well.
The carpet was old in the bedroom.
Location was fantastic - walking distance to Copley Square (and metro), Back Bay area (Newbury St shops and restaurants), Boston Public Garden and Boston Commons. Lovely decor, very friendly reception staff. Free wifi very fast and no problems with connectivity.
The direction of the shower nozzle (and the shower head itself was large) meant that when you turned the water on, it sprayed water forcefully straight at you and all over the floor outside the shower cubicle. To overcome this problem, we had to take the shower head off the hook, turn it to face the wall, turn the water on, and then once flow had been established, gently put the nozzle back on the hook. The first night we had a very wet bathroom floor - once we figured this out, it wasn't a problem anymore. Just a weird problem, nothing wrong with the shower itself or the towels, hot water etc!
Location and cleanliness
Not good value for money at all Very basic though clean Much nicer accom available nearby at about a third less
Great price, great area, close to subway, coffee shop in hotel, friendly staff
very small bathroom, small rooms, need to update rooms, no closet
Position close to Back Bay station. Ground floor café. Good fittings, refrigerator in room
Noise transmission from adjoining room was a little obtrusive
Clean, comfortable hotel with very pleasant, helpful staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Close to shopping and restaurants, dunkin donuts next door!!! Car rental, bus station and CVS pharmacy all within 2 minute walk. Excellent location for anyone wanting a relaxing, chilled out trip which does not involve trains and buses to get to shopping and entertainment. Would highly recommend this hotel to other people.
The only fault I had with the location was that the traffic was quite noisy at night, probably a problem in the centre of any city. Otherwise it was perfect
Very friendly, helpful & positive receptionists to us as complete strangers in Boston, and we could not have been in a better position in the city for our general sightseeing purposes.
Very noisy shower !
Location, extra garment hooks, security, cleanliness
WiFi missed the mark. Temp regulation not easy.
The position was ideal for sightseeing. The restaurant on site provided excellent breakfasts and good. cheap evening meals. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel staff were equally helpful and keen to provide support.
The room was a little cramped - impossible to get down one side of the bed.
Friendly and helpful staff, excellent location close to subway.
Room a little small
The hotel is very close to the Back Bay train station to where I arrived, and also very close to the T station (public transport). The surroundings of the hotel are very impressive, such as the Hancock Tower right next to it, and some other nice parts of the city like Copley Square are within a walking distance. My hotel room was on the 6th floor with a nice street view. The room itself was spacious, the bed comfortable and everything clean. The reception staff was very friendly and helpful.
Nothing to enter here
The staff were so helpful and accommodating. The position of Hotel 140 was excellent close to restaurants, shops, hop on hop off bus.
Initial room was small so we upgraded.
Perfect location Proactive staff Very comfortable bed Couldn't hear any noise from other rooms Very clean
The customer service was awesome.
Room structure and amenities
The location was fabulous! Right behind Copley Square and walking distance to both the orange line and green line T stops. The staff was very accommodating and super friendly (minus the night desk guy who was asleep at the desk when we came back from a Sox game and couldn't be roused to answer a question we had)- they went out of their way to offer assistance with all of our travel needs.
There was hair in the shower that wasn't ours (eww..) and the AC was very loud and would turn on and off making it a little hard to sleep. Despite these two things I would stay here again and would recommend it to others!
Convenient location. Easy to get to and from Logan airport on public transportation. Very clean. Friendly staff. There's a pleasant cafe/deli just off the lobby.
My only non-positive comment is that the room - a deluxe double (for up to 4 people) described as "spacious" - was a pretty tight squeeze. Three people + luggage left little room to maneuvre. It's a minor complaint, since rooms are generally smaller in old Boston hotels. (Our bathroom, I'll admit, was nice and roomy.) Overall, we were very pleased with our one-night stay.
Front steps up to lobby.
The hotel is in the centre of the city and is very clean
Rooms are very small but adequate for a city break

Small-ness of the room, hard mattress
