Central, Clean, not charming, better for business trips.
During winter it was minus 25 degrees and there is no proper eating system. There was a useless super load fan eater. Also the windows were in a really bad condition, unable to stanch the cold waft.
for the price, there was not a better place to stay. clean, comfortable, enthusiastic staff. great washroom products
very weak shower - if it was adjustable, it was broken. also, the hotel was performing renovations. the heavy paint smell was an unpleasant and distracting element of my entire stay - particularly at night. however, it was for one night, i came in late from business, and thought it would be fine, so did not ask to be moved. i'm sure if i had asked, i would have been accommodated.
Nice staff. Very clean room, though the hallways were under repair. A nice, albeit small, room with nice facilities. The cafe just off of the lobby provided a great breakfast stop both days before I headed off to my conference. Great location, and half the price of the major hotels in the area. A great value, all in all.
The wifi code given at check-in didn't work and I needed to ask for it to be reset - not the biggest deal in the world, but it could've been smoother. Also, it was a bit of a trick to turn on the shower without if flooding the floor outside the shower stall.
As a single mom it's tough paying $199 a night for my 17 year old and I to sleep. But it was a very nice place with comfortable beds
Room facilities were of a very good standard, the cleanliness was good with excellent wifi speed and range of TV channels.
Nice hotel with historic feel to lobby. Rooms small but cozy and clean with refrigerator and coffee pot. Clean bathroom with plenty of hot water and a sufficient never of towels!!!
Housekeeping starts vacuuming very early which would be okay if you didn't want to sleep.....then knocking on door with do not disturb sign snd pre-arranged late check out.
Heating installation could be a little noisy.
Great location next to railway station and pharmacy....literally right out the door...Get anywhere you need in minutes. Restaurants galore close by. Will definitely stay here again when visiting Boston. Great view!! Staff was super friendly! Free Wi-Fi password at check-in. Room was cozy but I didn't expect it to be large. Even had a fridge. Above and beyond expectations. Beds were super comfy with lots of pillows. Missing Boston already! Thanks so booking.com for helping me get such a great price at this prime location.
parking ion lot next door was 3 times the amount the desk girl thought it was - I should have had her validate my ticket but she said it was cheaper if she didn't
great place! pretty, good location, nice staff, clean bathroom
they didn't have room service of food in site, which would normally be ok, but it would have been great given the fact that there was a huge storm
Hotel was fine for grey we needed. The location is easy to get to , just minutes walk from the airport bus pick up and drop off . The hotel itself is clean and staff very pleasant and efficient.
The cafe was nothing special so we had to go out to get a coffee or anything to eat
Staff rude, room small, towels dirty, sheet dirty, random people roaming around the hotel who appeared to be homeless and intoxicated. One genetleman in the elevator sat on the floor, emptied pocket, and started rearranging the items in his pocket on the floor. Second try on elevator man was not wearing underwear and his back and front were exposed - man reported that e did not have his key to operate elevator and maintained man operated it for him without confirming he was suppose to be there. Very disappointed.
Bed was comfy
I was put on a floor that was being renovated so banging was unbearable and shower wasn't clean
Excellent location and friendly staff
Old facility with no soundproof
A great location for doing research at Boston Public Library and the Massachusetts Historical Society.
The gym seems to be closed, but there is a Boston Sports Club across the street.
Nice people. Good room with nice bed and bedding. I would definitely go there again.
Just the one chair at the little desk is hard to get by when one person sitting in it and one person going to the door or bathroom. The other thing was a little difficult getting the luggage up those front steps. Maybe a ramp would help.
Rooms were pretty small.
Price and location
Not a huge amount of restaurants super close by, but plenty within 10min walking distance.
It´s very well located, if you are coming by train you can walk from the Back Bay station to the hotel with no concerns. The staff is very nice and friendly. The hotel is old, but very clean and confortable and a very good deal for the price. I would stay there again.
Everything was good
The location and comfort of the bed were fabulous.
The room was small a bit costly. Bathroom very small.
Free WiFi, lost my parking pass and the guy at the front desk (blond man forgot his name) called the garage to straighten out my validated parking. Knew the area well. For the money I was blown away
We booked just a few hours before we arrived, and they were able to accommodate our wheelchair needs. They actually upgraded us to a larger room to allow room to maneuver. The location is second to none, right across the street from the Hancock tower and adjacent to both South End and Back Bay.
There was some mix-up when we left, ad we were notified that we would be charged the smoking fee. After some discussion, they straightened everything out, and were overall very friendly and professional. Also, as an out-of-towner, I was not prepared for the cost of parking. While there is a handy garage right around the corner from the hotel, aND the hotel 'validated' our ticket, 28 hours of parking (two days since we ran over) set us back $56.
Very comfy bed and everything was very clean. Hotel location was excellent to visit all the main Boston attractions on foot and had plenty of excellent restaurants in easy walking distance.
Only one coffee sachet provided each day but reception were happy to provide more when we asked. Also, coffee machine was a bit dodgy.
