The location, the charm.
The room was too hot.
bathroom not in the room
1. Decent price for the location. 2. Free luggage storage if you show up early and can't check-in yet. 3. The daytime staff were pleasant.
1. Advertised free WiFi, but the connection was broken. When I complained at the desk, the response was "Maybe it's down, try again later." Which I did. And it was still down. 2. There was no thermostat control, and the heater was on high all night. Had to open a window, which is terribly wasteful. I overheard another guest complaining about having the same issue. 3. The nighttime staff were rude and unhelpful.
For the money you pay you get more then you expect. Very satisfy with the hotel, close enough to the city, clean amd has everything that you need to have a good night sleep
Great area,quiet and safe.
The location is good and the room and bathroom are warm and clean
It has some noise in the night and there was no person to come to clean the room
The major problems were the bathroom outside the room, and the noise due to thin walls.
2 blocks away from the Subway Very quiet location Very clean Excellent price for quality
Bathrooms are shared with other rooms Room was quite small
good location, safe, near metro, quiet clear room, 24h reception, very nice and helpful staff
The elevator and the hallways were too small and they didn't smell quite well (odor of bathrooms). The room was too small as well, but very clean. There weren't enough bathrooms for all guests (only two for a hallway with 7 or 8 rooms) and they were too small.
the wifi is sucks
The hotel was reasonably priced for the area and quality of the bedrooms. The staff was very courteous and even let us check in early when we arrived ahead of schedule.
The toilets and showers were outside of the bedrooms across the hall and used communally - 2 bathrooms to about 10 guest rooms. They were kept cleanly and looked freshly organized each time I used the toilet or shower, but there was no sink in the bathroom area and I prefer the ease of access having a bathroom adjoining the bedroom entails
staff is no so friendly the room is too hot
Good value for money. Easy walking distance to subway.
Couldn't turn off radiator. Very very hot.
Location was great. 3rd Ave subway station close by. Subway at 14th St Union Square was in walking distance. Area seemed very safe day and night. Fast check in and check out with friendly staff. Shared bath worked out fine. This hotel was a good value for the price.
I can't complain about the shared baths because I knew that was the arrangement when I booked the trip. The space in the lobby and room are smaller than they look in the pictures but it wasn't a big deal. I was very pleased with the value at the price I paid.
The bed wasnt that comfy
The location is good, between two of New York's most charming small parks. Good access to public transportation. I like the old world, nothing fancy character of the place.
In my single bed room there was very little room and only on small drawer for clothes. I think the price was a bit high for what I got. Be careful in the shower down the hall. You may be scalded when turning off the water. Know which direction to turn the knob. I was literally burned trying to get it off and was trapped there until I could.
Teeny, Tiny Room Very Tiny TV Screen Cold Male Desk Staff Broken Iron Small, Old Bathroom Difficult Location Uncomfortable Bed with thin blanket and thin comforter No heat Very old, dreary look all over Key card didn't work High steps to enter
For the price, the hotel was excellent
The bed was very uncomfortable.
The staff were very accommodating and helpful when I requested for them to book me a taxi to Jersey after I checked out.
Wifi didn't work in my room. It did however work on the ground floor, however there was nowhere I could sit down there. I complained to the person at the front desk about wifi not working in my room. He said that wifi was functioning perfectly fine on level 8. I specifically picked this hotel so I would be able to use wifi. Not having wifi was a great inconvenience to me.
Cleanliness, 24 hr desk, professional staff, location, free wi-fi
The rooms are tiny, but that is to be expected in this style of hotel and at this price point Bathrooms are shared and there's more than 1 per floor but you have to bring the towels, soap, and shampoo from your room with you. That means there's nothing to wash your hands with if you use the bathroom on your way out for the day.
Quaint & old fashioned.
Had to walk down the hall to use the bathroom but it was different & we didn't mind.
Old world charm with an economic appeal. Had everything I needed on a brief overnight business stay. Shared bathroom was not an issue. Clean and well attended accommodations.
