Old fashioned decor and could have used some hooks in the bathroom.
good sized rooms with coffee machines and a small sink in them.
Water pressure in the showers was painfully high.
I loved the thrift of the place. Very comfortable, but no frills. For a solo traveler, all one needs is a bed, desk, sink and wifi in a private room. Perfect!
I was left alone to come and go as i please. When i needed anything the staff were quick to help. Its the second time iv stayed and looking forward to the next time. There is some great diners and bars across the street.
nothing, but wifi connection could be better:-)
I love this hotel. It was my 3rd staying there.
Dirty bed but it's New York and my wife wasn't with me I pretty much expected it the staff were very helpful and professional they gave good directions and were genuinely kind
Location and staff quiet
What could be improved upon is the lack of warmth in the desk staff. I really didn't meet any other staff. They were kind of cold and I felt like I was bothering them. We only heard noise one night and it was maintenance working at MIDNIGHT to fix something in the room next to ours. It was very late and they were having a running conversation in the hallway with the room door open and it was not too pleasant since we needed to get up early for our flight.
I liked that the hotel was not crowded and there was never a wait for the bathroom. Cleanliness was awesome. A little strange that you HAVE to request that the room be cleaned. This was a first for me and I missed it the first day.
Wi-Fi was just terrible, or I would rather say there was no Wi-Fi at all in my room.
The location is perfect, 3 min walking to the metro station. Very nice and clean neighbourhood. Shops and restaurants are nearby. The rooms were quite big (I stayed in 2) for NYC standards. At first, didn't like my room as at was next to the toilet and was getting quite noise at night. The hotel manager gave me a new room without any problems. That room was further away from the toilets and was perfect, also had a sink. Shared toilets at first scared me, but there were 4 toilets on each floor and they were all kept clean.
WiFi of looooow speed, if available
Room size, faire price
I liked that the staff including maintenance responded with urgency when I had a problem with the room and resolved the issue to my satisfaction.
loved the charm of this old building
I was told that I was getting a room with 2 beds, I got a room with 1 bed, they did give me a fold out bed free of charge, other than being cramped it was a nice stay,
the old look to the building
no wifi in the 7th floor
Location and cleanliness
Just one WC by level
clean Nice staffs
Weather was cold and room was quite cold at first night, heating system pipes were so hot and was noisy because of the heat for the next night.
price was ok for this room.
Location and price
The lack of a small lounge-bar area.
The wii-fi has to be repaired urgently. There are no wii-fi in the rooms.
Value for money and great location close to Union Square.
The romm is small, you do not have enough space either in your room or in common spaces..
the location and the old-fashioned ambiance
The hotel was very quiet apart from the pigeons sitting on the AC box outside our window that woke us up every night at 6am.
The hotel is in perfect location, close to Union sq. Nice, comfortable and clean room. The bathroom as well was clean and in good conditions.
First night I was in a room where the heating system was very loud about once an hour; luckily could change for the rest of the stay. You have no control over the heater, so it was a bit too warm in the second room. WiFi was sometimes really slow and/or disconnected. The rooms are quite small. The beds are a bit short.
The location is quite good (7 minutes from Union square), the shared bathrooms are clean, the staff is friendly. After changing the room, I could sleep alright. All in all good value for money.
The only recommendation I have is to change the shower curtain a little earlier.
The bathrooms were cleaned multiple times a day, and always available. Staff was nice and willing to help at any time. Rooms had everything you need, and the two single beds were comfortable.
Room too hot first night.
No breakfast there
