Rude staff, very dirty, rats in house, omg my first NYC experience was so astonished
Excellent location. Helpful staff especially the front desk guy.
The size of d room, no stove. The price was outrageous compared to d room size. No elevators at all n we were staying on d 3rd floor. They need an elevator.
Location was good - near the High Line pathway and the riverside walk and right by the metro for more distant locations. Helpful staff who obliged us by moving us to another room when we asked - and then found and returned our nightclothes which we forgot to remove from the bed. When we had moved rooms (to get away from the street noise at night) and come to terms with our dislikes, we enjoyed our stay. In recommending it to others, we would mention the dislikes.
Noisy air-conditioning units in both the rooms we used. No lift (and our second room was on the 4th floor). Continental breakfast consisted of bagels, croissants, pain au chocolate and similar, but nowhere inside to eat it - the "Visitor Lounge" had no room for tables and only two chairs by the two complimentary computers; fortunately the weather was warm and dry so we could sit at the tables in their pleasant courtyard garden, which we enjoyed sharing with the sparrows. Calling itself a hotel suggests that its facilities would have included some of these features.
The room and outside facility
No soap, no amenities, no coffee etc hallway smells bad.
The room was not bad by itself, except that it hasn't been cleaned for decades. Location is not bad neither, with a subway station at few feet of distance, the only problem is that they are too close to the road and even at night you can hear every car passes (and in New York there a lot of cars at every hour, as is easy to think). In the street in the front of the hotel it is possible to have free wifi without paying the hight pay the hotel ask to use internet.
First of all: the room was filthy, with various stains of dirty everywhere. The sheets and the towels were dirty as the rooms, with undefined biological traces on them (we didn't use the towels, it would be disgusting). In the shared toilets we found cockroaches too. They said there was a continental breakfast. That wasn't a decent breakfast, just few pastries and bad coffee. The man from the reception said us to get up at seven AM because otherwise the pastries we would miss the pastries. Sometimes they just do not serve coffee without any reason and the staff is rude.
El de saying
The staff was fine. The bedding was clean. The location was excellent.
Shade broken. A mouse ran across the floor the second day. I washed bathroom floor-sticky. Maid service - shoddy. No coffee stirrers. Computer printer out of ink.
very close to manhattan city and rail station.
too small room, not cleaned.poor staff. expensive, most of the hotel with lesser price having better room with breakfast and wifi free.here they need only money, money and moneyand lastly they said thank you and have a good day....u know.
Proximity to the subway
Difficult to contact the place Low number of staff Bad quality of the towels
Location. Next to a metro. Great shopping and restaurants all within walking distance.
Had 4 people with 4 large suitcases so the room was a little cramped. However, for the price and location it was so worth it. In NYC, you barely spend time in the room anyway.
Having a bathroom up the hall
5 flights of stairs(required to be on the 1st or 2nd floor) (not warned of no lifts on website). No sheets for futon bed. room phone out of order for the 3 nights we stayed in(advised reception 3 times). cleanliness was VERY poor in all hotel. bathroom towels were all stained. breakfast was a joke(very poor).
Perfect to enjoy a couple of nights in NYC, great location!
10 feet away from metro station, always clean rooms, restrooms & bathrooms. Great district with tons of restaurants, cafes, markets etc.
No free wifi, no elevator.
Small very simple room with own kitchenette allows you to have breakfast (or other meals) on your own. Subway is only 100 ft away! (On the "A" line direct transport to JFK) Very good and fashionable neighborhood with lots of dining out opportunities.
Small window, without opportunity to open it. Loud Air conditioner.
Location and service was good
Share the restroom was not good.
I liked location, Chelsea area is good for walking, surroundings are nice to see at, secure. Subway stations very close. Markets very close, to shop for breakfast
Breakfast really bad, cleanliness should improve specially in the bathrooms. Ni wifi free No elevators, had to drag the siutcases all the way up to a third floor
location room look
small room space sharing bathrooms
Location location location! Subway station right outside the front doors, the Chelsea Market is directly across the street, the area's got good dining and nightlife. The staff were friendly and always willing to give suggestions on places nearby to check out.
The rooms were compact but for that price in this location that's pretty standard. Would still recommend this place to any friends going.
The location is relatively good
There were rats in the hotel, they didn't clean trash nor change the sheets for whole week, there is no hygiene at all
Location was amazingly good, close to the highline, chelsea markets, and the subway was a 20sec walk away. Pharmacy/minimart close by was also handy. Lots of nice eateries nearby too. The staff were friendly, room itself was clean and kitchenette was very handy too. Bed was comfy and the AC worked well.
Room was tidy initially but the sheets weren't ever changed, only straightened up. Shared Bathrooms were all often dirty and muggy (most didn't have working vent fans). no elevator was annoying but to be expected in an older NYC building.
Excellent location! Lovely staff and comfortable room (slightly less spacious with 4 of us in it but we were happy there).
No free wifi.
A rat appeared in my room while I was resting. I ran out to the reception, and the staff helped to take the rat out. I have phobia to rats so I am still in shock. During the night I checked the room with the staff, and there were varios holes in the room. I could not belive they charge more than USD 200 per night and they dont care on covering those holes. I requested my money back and the manager made things so complicated that i decided to stay for the two nights left. It was difficult for me to look for another hotel, without being reimbursed on time.
