The hotel is simple, the room has a great bed, little kitchen and a tiny room to put your things. The employees was all very kind, the cleaning was good! Is like a hostel with the bathroom in the hallway but this was not a problem, the bathroom was always clean! The location is awesome, next to the subway and some great neighborhood! The breakfast was simple and good! In NYC the hotels are very expensive, so I think it worth it! I recommend this hotel!
The tiny room to put clothes that aldo has the safe dont have light, so is really hard to use it!
Amazing location; there's a subway and a supermarket 30 seconds from the front door and everywhere in Manhattan felt like it was just 20 minutes from home. Kitchenette had everything we needed; especially appreciated the dishes being done by maids.
Being on the second floor we were getting a lot of noise from the reception downstairs, staff didn't seem too bothered about how loud they were being.
The staff was very nice and accommodating. We got to come and go as we liked We will definitely stay here again its worth the money
That they didn't have a elevator we were on the 4th floor and after walking all day it was kind of hard to walk up all those stairs, plus the room was small we had to get a roll away bed for my son and there was no room to walk in the room
I was there for three nights. I was given two hand towels, four bath towels. Once i used a hand towel for the day, i would indicate it for washing, not for the bath towels, as using these again makes sense. I never got replacement hand towels. Because if this, i started using the bath towels as hand towels. In the long run they had more to wash because of this...Kind of counter intuitive, and honestly, it just felt plain lazy cheap of them. Soap dispensers were empty in bathroom. No wi fi is really out of step with the rest of the planet. Time to get on board.
Easy access to subway just a few hundred feet away.
No elevator could be a challenge for some people
We stayed for 6 nights and had great time. The hotel had the best location you can wish for staying in NYC. This hotel is located in the Chelsea area and you will find just next door the subway station, CVS pharmacy and store open 24h and the Chelsea Market 5 min away which is a must to see and try in NYC. The Highline Park is in the area and is worth to see it. The hotel room wasn't big but beautifully decorated and with kitchen which was very handy. We had room with shared bathroom which was clean and we knew about it form the information about the hotel so it was good. The staff were very polite and helpful. We had been mainly attended by Mallelyn and I can only say that she has provided great customer service. Great value, great location and we will definitely stay again.
It is such a dirty uncomfortable place we have canceled after 1 day later
really good location. a walking distance to times square. free coffee, tee and cookies
At the time of check in a guy from the desk gave us a wrong keys, so we accidentally entered to someone else's room! Unbelievable! It is very unsafe! one night after the other guy form the desk checked us out and blocked our keys while we were at the city although our check out day would be a 4 days later. We were a group of 5 but there was only 4 blankets in the room. Wifi is not free
Appliances didn't work no elevator
I couldn't sleep cause I was so grossed out
When in New York for the first time, I would ideally have stood at the legendary Chelsea; this being impossible, I would say that the 309 keeps an informal, bohemian, charming and very New York style, at the center of everything for a quite reasonable fare. I was very satisfied and I would recommend the 309 to similar like-minded travellers.
Very poor cleanliness No elevator Staff response to our basic request (clean the room) was very slow, we had to ask 3 days in a row to get a reaction and even after that we could not say that the room was spotless.... The value for money is poor, for the same price you can actually book a proper hotel, maybe in a less hot location but with proper hotel service. This place is good for young backpacking people as an hostel, but nothing more.
location room size and amenities
Location is extremely nice, including metro stops close by. Rooms are nice although a bit small, personel was nice and helpful.
A bit noisy (note I had a room facing the internal court), mainly from people chatting in the corridors
The front desk people were friendly and helpful.m
Lack of an elevator is the main downfall.
Great people working in the hotel, everything was fine. Bit expensive for my budget but i recommend it.
Expensive wifi and doesn't work very good specially at night.
Location is truly perfect and the area is safe. The hotel has a cute little backyard, which is a perfect spot to enjoy before you go to bed after a tiring day.
Cleaniness formed a great issue. The bathrooms were dirty. The walls seemed to be rather old and gave the sense of a not-taken-care-of facility. The hotel does not have an elevator which causes a big deal if you have big luggage as the steps are a lot and they are pretty narrow.
Location is fair
Everyting!!! Stairs no elevator, horribly small, no shower in the rooms... Etc
There were some things I did not like at arrival, for example the room with broken airconditioning, the internet that did not work on my devices and the fact that the bathroom was shared (although I knew that beforehand). However, the staff did everything to make my stay as comfortable as possible. The internet worked, I got a much nicer room with ac and had access to two bathrooms. This hotel is excellent in location and if you need a place to sleep and keep your things safe!
The fact that you have to pay for wifi.
Like staying in a very expensive, grotty hostal. Security poor. Ventilation appalling. Appliances not good enough. Website misleading.
Matthew and Mya lyn were very helpful.
Quick subway access was a big plus, and it was easy to get a cab on the corner when riding the subway wasn't convenient. Having a kitchenette in the room was very convenient too.
Mattress was poor quality. Room was so narrow it was nearly impossible to get around the bed to open/close the window, which was very drafty and made the room quite cold the last night I was there when the temp dropped to nearly freezing.
The moment we checked out.
To make it short: this "hotel" is full of rats and mouses (seen and heard during every day of our stay), cock-roaches (seen twice in the bathroom), and bed-bugs (felt every night of our stay). The breakfast is a joke, the staff friendly but incompetent and certainly a part of the rip-off. To sum it up: stay away!
(relatively) good price but JUST in comparison to other nyc hotels good location next to 14th street station
creepy atmosphere, dark, smelly and scary hallways shared bathrooms basically just an average hostel but for the price of a hotel (in europe one would pay 30 euros for this)
Location: close to lots of bars and stores and subway stations. Staff was very helpfull. Confort: The room has a good space for the luggage and it has a small kitchen, so we could buy some things to eat there.
Only for a couple days the shared bathroon was dirty and stinking. In the rest of our stay it was ok. In two days, the paid wifi didn't work well. The staff said they had a problem with that. The air conditioning was a little bit noisy, the door of the fridge has a tiny problem to close, so as the microwave. It seems that almost everything has a trick to work.
