Great room, location and price. Overall very pleased with staff friendliness, ease of check in, cleanliness of room (no bedbugs!) during our weekend trip Oct 27-31. Can't beat the price for such a great location- 15 minute walk from both Penn Station and Grand Central. Staff allowed us to leave bags after we checked out so we could take advantage of our last few hours in the city. Decor is dated but reasonable- beds were super comfy. Separate bathrooms were very clean and always available. I'll be returning!

The location was very good. We didn't have any trouble leaving one day before the booked check-out time. The wi-fi was horrible. Very slow speeds, and it went up and down constantly.

I thought the hotel had alot of character and was extremely clean. I Was disappointed however in the fact that they would not allow you to book a room with a bath when I called to upgrade but it would be an additional 30 but when I got there and told them this they tried to charge and extra 50 but ended up charging an extra 40.

The hotel was fairly sparse, but it was what we expected for the price in New York. The room was very small but clean and the hotel staff were friendly. The location was brilliant, only 10 minutes walk from Times Square and Madison Square Garden. Sharing bathrooms was a bit strange, but there were clean and we never had to wait for a bathroom to be free. There were 2 bathrooms between 8 rooms. The pillows were really uncomfortable!!! The room was very small, no space to hang things or to store bags.

We stayed 4 nights at this hotel, which is located very well in central Manhattan. Many nice places to visit are in walking distance. The room is oke and looks very decent. The bathroom however was very small and old. There was a hot pipe (isolated by foam so you won't burn yourself on it) that made some strange noise and was in the middle of the already small bathroom. The quality/price ratio is very good. Also I have to mention that the people from the front desk were very friendly and did everything to help you or to give you tips and advice. Recommended is to have breakfast in the Cosi Restaurant just 50 meters on your left when exiting the hotel. Also recommended is the Thai restaurant, also to your left when you exit the hotel and then on the right side of the street (about 5 minutes walk). We had a pleasent stay there but the bathroom makes you a little bit claustrofobic. The bathroom was very small and old. There was a hot pipe (isolated by foam so you won't burn yourself on it) that made some strange noise and was in the middle of the already small bathroom.

The rooms and bathrooms were very clean. Having the bathroom outside of the room was only a minor inconvenience. But we never had to wait and they were cleaned frequently. The staff at the front desk were nice and very responsive when I called from my room. It was also nice that we could check in around midnight and they held our luggage on the last day before we went to the airport. The location is great, close to the 6. There is also a 7-eleven down the street. The only cons are that the room is small and there is no refridgerator or iron in the room. Other than that we had a lovely stay and I will definitely stay again.

Very nice staff and excellent location. Very close to the metro station (33). The worst view ever. The room had no ventilation. Only two bathrooms per floor.

We really enjoyed staying here. We had a shared bathroom which was always spotless and we never had to wait for it. Staff friendly and helpful. Good shops/restaurants nearby. Room was good size and the sink a plus we also had a view of the empire state building. A lovely hotel.

Would have no hesitation recommending or staying here again. Location was convenient to get to from the airport and around town, area is a "good" area. Shared bathrooms were generally always available (2 to about 15 rooms) and towels in the rooms were changed daily. The single "queen/double" room is big enough to sleep two adults sharing one bed. I checked with the hotel as I was confused with the description of the room as single on booking.com eventhough it had sleeps two. My mattress was a little soft and the wool blanket quite thin. But with the heater going, you really don't want much more. The hotel provides bar soap, so if you like using shower gel - bring your own.

I would stay there again, it is well located and quite reasonable. I had read a report about bedbugs, from 2010, but when I called I was told it had been taken care of and I had no problems on that regard. It was slightly less clean than other hotels where I have stayed, but it was quite ok.

Just the location !!! I hated shared bathrooms (surprise !), two per floor. I hated the poor isolation between the room/corridor and room/other room. It was a veryyyyyyyyyy veryyyyyyyyyy old decoration.
