The property and staff were amazing; they gave directions and a map when I went sightseeing, assisted in arranging a car for my trip to the airport, and the housekeeper was the SWEETEST lady ever. She was so kind every day.
The doors are loud when people go in and out of the guest rooms nearby.
Everything Way good
Location was good and a nice bar to relax for the evening.
The original booking made for a standard double room. According to the website the room was different from the reality. Upon arrival we had a big disappointment regarding the size of the room, the bathroom and the view (facing back of the building). When we expressed our disappointment another room offered with extra charge as all the standard rooms facing at the back. As we accepted the extra charge for a better room still we hadn't got all of the requested features as we wanted a bathtub. Three first days the toilet flash made a lot of noise which was fixed and the room was really cold.
The rooms The fact that they have a very attentive manager always taking care of all details. Location
Everything about 6 Columbus is fabulous: the location; the facilities; the cleanliness; the service; the staff expertise; the comfort; the shower force and temperature; the umbrellas; its hip nod to Brits; the decor; the neighbourhood; its attitude . . . . I could go on. I would highly recommend it and would not hesitate to visit its sister hotels based on my experience.
That I had to leave . . . .
Very close to central park and Subway station. Had great restaurants close by and is very close to Times Square and Broadway.
Our room could not pick up a decent Mobile/Cell signal with T-Mobile such that we needed to put the phone by the window to get a signal to use as a personal hotspot for our Laptop/iPad. Think this is more of a T-Mobile issue rather than the Hotel.
location; proximity to subways and Central Park
tiny, dark rooms; few if any single rooms face the street; poor service; interior rooms face brick walls and power generators; for $325/night you can do better, yes even in New York
Japanese style hotel. small but simple stylish convenient room. Japanese menu and western one reasonably priced, artfully served in restaurant.
Lighting could be brighter for mirrors.
Location, cleanliness and staff are fabulous
Pillows are horrible
Location; very friendly and accommodating staff; free wifi in lobby and rooftop.
Tiny room, tho it was OK for 1 and was well appointed.
great staff, comfortable contemporary rooms. Excellent bathrooms. The Blue Ribbon restaurant and bar is a great thing to have in the hotel. The breakfast options are the best and tastiest I've had in NYC for a long time.
they need to stick some higher powered bulbs in the lights in he rooms. I thought I was going blind and the dark tone mad men vibe wears thin when you are staying for a few days.
Staff's friendliness Location is quite convenient
Small room (incredibly) than other 3-4*Manhattan hotel small lobby and hallway 2/3 elevator are incredibly small (4 people max) Very dimmed lighting design in lobby and room no view outside the room Too expensive for the price
Dark and dingy rooms Complimentary newspaper only available on one day out of five Water temperature varied from hot to lukewarm
Very small room for the money. There are much better price-value hotels in NYC.
staff specially the concierge told us about a lot of cool places to go
Very comfortable and clean bed
Room very small and didn't have a desk to work on and drawers
The hotel made a mistake in typing the room rate and they made me pay for it, in all sense. After that I booked and I paid, they called me to ask me to pay an extra unreasonable amount of money or to cancel the booking. Everything happened only 8 hours before my flight. No apologies, no solutions. I felt like they were not caring at all about their mistake. What they only cared was to get this money or send me to the street so that they could get another client for more money. It's the first time that I've experienced a similar situation. Worst customer service ever. I took my flight a few hours later and I had to find the first accommodation available in the area since they left me without a booking.
I wasn't happy with my first room because it didn't have a desk - the front desk immediately moved me and as they were quiet gave me a free upgrade; The staff were just excellent and took care to make sure I was looked after on all fronts; I didn't get to sample the food in the Blue Ribbon but it looked fantastic; Great amenities in every direction, great restaurants within a one minute walk, a great walk in Central Park available two minutes away; Perfect for business trips but DO get a larger room, not the standard as the rooms are very small (typical NYC).
Would have liked to have been able to use the roof-top terrace during the day; would also have liked some extra choice in terms of breakfast/food at the hotel itself. Wifi slightly on-and-off BUT very reasonable in terms of cost.
being few meters away from central park is great
terrible room - extremely small - no sight but just internal view from the window - the telephone doesn't have coverage in the room! - to open the door i need to play with it for 2 minutes
We chose this hotel for the location; very close to Central Park and a subway station. The rooms have everything you need for the type of stay we had, which means we only spent the night there. The staff is very friendly and helpful.
The rooms are a bit small and there is quite some noise at night so you better bring some earplugs if you sleep light.
Location Cleanliness Comfort
A very small room Paid Internet and TV High pricing
Not as expensive as other local hotels
Cramped, uncomfortable, dimly lit room and there's no gym. Locks don't work properly.
The location is perfect.
The front desk staff is not helpful, there was no doorman when we checked in, no help with suitcases. Occasionally there would be a doorman, but if you went to get coffees you had to put them down to open the door.
Location close to Central Park Helpful staff Very attractive and comfortable facilties Roof top venue great for evening wine
No coffee in the room - had to go next door to buy coffee First room (#39) had squealing equipment all night..changed rooms. Room doors are loud when people return in the middle of the night. Elevator buttons are difficult to see due to low light
The bar and food are fantastic at this perfectly located NYC hotel
Wifi is expensive
