Location. Very close to Central Park and Times Square. I was able to park on-street without paying exorbitant parking rates.
The rooms were very small compared to the pictures on the hotel website. The view in the back of the hotel was of an old pair of socks and a discarded tie hanging off a net covering.
I like the location. Bell boy was very friendly and organized.
I was surprised at the attitude of the one of the receptionist. She never smile, slow and rude. They had computer trouble and we could not check-in smoothly, but she never apologize to us. I thought I requested the queen superior room, but according to her information, we assigned the most small room at the hotel. I though I reserved with $350 room. Room was small and the view from the window was terrible. This is our Christmas present, I was so disappointed about this hotel. Blue Ribbon's service was terrible, we choose this hotel because this restaurant but the Sushi chef gave "nigiri sushi" without "wasabi" "gari ( ginger)" and very poor decoration on the plate. Even Chinese or Korean Sushi chef will serve better than him. I don't understand this restaurant is popular in NYC. Soy source and soup was too salty. Because hotel check-in and restaurant service was too slow, I didn't have enough time for shopping. Shopping and eat nice restaurant was we expected in NYC.
furnishings and ambience were poor quality, much cheaper appearing than other boutique hotels we have stayed at
The Staff was outstanding, the Room was fabulous, the Location was perfect, and the BED was AMAZING, so comfortable!!!!
Restaurant, strictly Asian, would've liked a bit more diversity.
Very good location.
There's not enough light in the room and the lobby. No free wifi compare to Viceroy hotel that I booked in Aug 2014.
Lots of noise coming from adjacent rooms and hallway
This was an extremely affordable hotel for NYC, located right off several subway lines, and we ate at two great restaurants in the area. The room was a nice size, not large by any means, but enough for the two of us. Also, if you get a queen's size room, there is no view.
There isn't free wifi and if you are looking for a neighborhood to stay in NYC - this isn't the place for you. Columbus Circle is quite crowded with both residents and tourists.
Majority of staff addressed any problems with professional attitude and smile. I think we had one gentleman at front desk who neither apologized or was very nice about reservation mix-up which was done through Booking.com The restaurant downstairs was great. Starbucks next door. Perfect location!
Keys often didn't work. Had confusion on reservations made through Booking.com.
The location, staff and room was wonderful!!
There wasn't anything that I didn't like.
Location in regard to Thanksgiving Day Parade, only
In our opinion, room not as shown on web-page. Tub that held water while showering. Sink with plunger not installed. Thermostat that never worked correctly, including having to call maintenance to switch from heating to air conditioning. Burned out bulbs in an already dimly lit room. Overall, a dreadfully poor lighting design. We have traveled on 3 continents and this is the only hotel chain that we have stayed in that does not provide a top sheet. No in-room coffee maker. We have stayed in many other NYC hotels over the years and every single one of them we consider to be superior to this hotel, even those at a quarter of the price.
Clean and great location with excellent staff.
Booked a room for 2 adults and one child an got a room for 1 adult. Make sure that booking.com and the hotel are on the same page on both sqft and be size. Steve
Location, restaurant open until 2am every night weekdays. Heated tile floor in bathroom is great.
I like bright bathrooms- check, but the room was a little too dimly lit- both of them. Had to move rooms because of no cell service on Verizon or AT&T. II get it, an old building in NYC wrapped in steel. Not a problem in the second room. $15 a day for WiFi seems excessive these days.
The property and staff were amazing; they gave directions and a map when I went sightseeing, assisted in arranging a car for my trip to the airport, and the housekeeper was the SWEETEST lady ever. She was so kind every day.
The doors are loud when people go in and out of the guest rooms nearby.
Everything Way good
Location was good and a nice bar to relax for the evening.
The original booking made for a standard double room. According to the website the room was different from the reality. Upon arrival we had a big disappointment regarding the size of the room, the bathroom and the view (facing back of the building). When we expressed our disappointment another room offered with extra charge as all the standard rooms facing at the back. As we accepted the extra charge for a better room still we hadn't got all of the requested features as we wanted a bathtub. Three first days the toilet flash made a lot of noise which was fixed and the room was really cold.
The rooms The fact that they have a very attentive manager always taking care of all details. Location
Everything about 6 Columbus is fabulous: the location; the facilities; the cleanliness; the service; the staff expertise; the comfort; the shower force and temperature; the umbrellas; its hip nod to Brits; the decor; the neighbourhood; its attitude . . . . I could go on. I would highly recommend it and would not hesitate to visit its sister hotels based on my experience.
That I had to leave . . . .
Very close to central park and Subway station. Had great restaurants close by and is very close to Times Square and Broadway.
Our room could not pick up a decent Mobile/Cell signal with T-Mobile such that we needed to put the phone by the window to get a signal to use as a personal hotspot for our Laptop/iPad. Think this is more of a T-Mobile issue rather than the Hotel.
location; proximity to subways and Central Park
tiny, dark rooms; few if any single rooms face the street; poor service; interior rooms face brick walls and power generators; for $325/night you can do better, yes even in New York
Japanese style hotel. small but simple stylish convenient room. Japanese menu and western one reasonably priced, artfully served in restaurant.
Lighting could be brighter for mirrors.
Location, cleanliness and staff are fabulous
Pillows are horrible
Location; very friendly and accommodating staff; free wifi in lobby and rooftop.
Tiny room, tho it was OK for 1 and was well appointed.
great staff, comfortable contemporary rooms. Excellent bathrooms. The Blue Ribbon restaurant and bar is a great thing to have in the hotel. The breakfast options are the best and tastiest I've had in NYC for a long time.
they need to stick some higher powered bulbs in the lights in he rooms. I thought I was going blind and the dark tone mad men vibe wears thin when you are staying for a few days.
Staff's friendliness Location is quite convenient
Small room (incredibly) than other 3-4*Manhattan hotel small lobby and hallway 2/3 elevator are incredibly small (4 people max) Very dimmed lighting design in lobby and room no view outside the room Too expensive for the price
Dark and dingy rooms Complimentary newspaper only available on one day out of five Water temperature varied from hot to lukewarm
