The owner was rude and abusive when I tried to speak to him. He wanted us to wait until after 6pm to check in. The area is not good - next door but 3 to the $3 Tavern; enough said. All other businesses are closed and many windows are boarded up.Felt barely safe in broad daylight. No signage, just a filthy door with a coded key pad. Extremely basic furnishings.
The location was good. Wifi was good. Close to shopping and tourist attractions.
They showed good pictures when we were booking the apartment but it wasn't anything like that. There were mice running around. AC was noisy. Heavy deposit that is not refundable. Trash left in stairwell was stinking the hallway. Booking.com should be aware of this stuff.
The people were very nice and they were keen for us to enjoy our stay.
It was simply too small. There was no way a family of five could fit comfortably into such a small apartment.
We like the location because it was a quieter part of NYC and we were able to soak in the local atmosphere ! Couple of decent food outlets around this area! The subway is about a 15 mins walk !
It was an unpleasant stay right from the start. We had to wait almost 30 minutes before the property manager came to open the door. Then we had to climb a narrow staircase to the fourth floor (the website stated the 2nd flr) with 4 large suitcases. Unless you are very able-bodied, this apt is not for you. When we got to the 4th flr, the room wasn't ready! The cleaners were still in the room. We noticed that there were no bed sheets in both rooms and asked for them, but we were then told that they will do it in half an hour. We left the apt at abt 4 pm and came back at 9pm and noticed the bed sheets were still missing ! We called the property manager and he said the chamber maid will come in 20 minutes. We waited for almost 90 minutes and no one showed up! The manager refused to answer our repeated calls! Finally, the bed sheets came in close to midnight ! It was a very frustrating and tiring experience for us, after having crossed multiple time zones from the Far East . Btw, the wifi worked intermittently and the TV remote didn't work !! Based on this experience, I think I will pay a bit more and take my chances with the hotels . The apt cost us about US$2,000 for four nights! Definitely not value for money for an old apt and dismal service standard
