Score from 2263 reviews Very good
The size of the hotel is small -medium and not huge like some corporate hotels. Free coffee in the morning in the lobby, and wine hour was enjoyable. Very close to Grand Central Terminal.
I was in town for a trade show at the Javits Center so the location was prime and just a few avenues distance from Javits. Love the wine happy hour that is offered and the free coffee in the morning - I can appreciate a good cup of joe and the coffee was excellent which was a nice surprise. I believe it is organic and an independent label. Room size was not bad for being in NYC and the view of the Empire State Building was amazing from the 17th floor. Bathroom was tiny but nicely furnished.
The shower in my room only had cold water. I advised the front desk the first day and they said they would send someone up to look at it. The next morning the issue still wasn't fixed so I called the front desk again, where I explained the situation and that I had made the staff aware the day before. The woman I spoke with said "well I wasn't in yesterday but I will send someone up right now" with a little bit of attitude. Eventually the plumber did come to fix the water but it still wasn't as hot as it could have been.
The location was great
The room For a queen size was way too small. It felt like I was in a wooden box with a toilet
The staff at this hotel were the friendliest I have ever experienced at a hotel. The hotel was very clean and solar for dollar worth every penny!
The staff and location!
The staff, the room
The radio is turned on when you enter the room.
We had 4 rooms and 7 people visiting NY for the holidays. The hotel was perfect for all of us in every way. We will go back.
Our favorite place to stay ...Clean , excellent location , and great value .. You can walk everywhere in midtown and Murray Hill from this location .. Love it here. !
wine reception for free every day in hotel lobby good location, walking distance to many restaurants cosy room helpful staff lot of accessories available for free very modern and unique furniture
bathroom little outdated and small
Staff was friendly, location was excellent close to all the action, Times Square, Empore State, Rocafella Centre etc. right price before taxes.
Got a Deluxe Queen bed, room a lot smaller than expected but it worked. Clean and cozy. But expected more for Park Ave hotel. Didn't like all the extra taxes added up to 30% when all said and done. Parking was very expensive as well.
The size of the room was spot on for two travellers. The reception staff were always happy and smiley and gave a very warm welcome. Excellent location!
The room wasn't the cleanest I've stayed in (down the side of the bed was an old bottle lid from a previous guest). No tea/coffee facilities in the room was a big thing for me as I didn't want to have to go down 7 floors to get my morning coffee. Also the bath robes were old, hard and smelt funny. No room service was also a bit of a let down.
Muggy and noisy A/C and heating unit.
Complimentary wine reception and helpful staff
All the credit card authorizations on our card
I liked the location. But the bar food options were not very good. And it was looking a little worn.
Couldn't get into the mini fridge without a struggle - and internet login didn't work- the room was quite cramped for $300+ per night. Bar food options were very limited and charcuterie like something you would pick up at a grocery store.
Wine happy hour in the lobby, clean rooms, great location, awesome concierge service for items you forgot!
Noisy street work on Saturday morning (early), but that's not really their fault.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bar was cozy. We celebrated a birthday, and were welcomed with complimentary drinks. Room was spacious and very comfortable.
Liked the location and staff.
Bathroom need some updating.
location on Park Ave
lobby was dingy, wall paper peeling in places, just not what I expect at a Kimpton. Hallways were dark, dated and dingy. Room was tiny, bathroom was miniscule, but that is NYC Service was mediocre, again not worthy of the Kimpton brand.
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful. Location for us was brilliant
Room wasn't cleaned on the first day
The staff was fantastic. Accomodating, helpful and very friendly
The location is great. You can walk to so many places. The rates are very good (the one I got thru booking.com was.) I'd stay here again.
Location, small hotel and not so busy and overcrowded, rooms are nice and good sized
I stayed 4 nights. The first three nights 3 people. The last night only one. I requested (more than a day before) to adjust the rate, move to a sgl room for the last night (hotel had plenty of vacant rooms) and they didn't do any effort to help. Still charged me rate for a room with up to 4 people, 150 more than the sgl rack rate!!!! Will never return. Any other hotel in NYC, would have made the change.
Great location within walking distance to many attractions. Close to subway. Well appointed rooms, friendly and attentive staff. Complimentary glass of wine and chilled fruit infused water in lobby nice touches for weary tourists at the end of the day.
Good bed and shower; Great location.
Staff wasn't polite and helpful; Everything was complementary - even for print one document!; Internet was charged and during the reservation was written that won't be.
