Hidden away on the Lower East Side it gives walking access to China Town, Canal Street.. the Bowery and all those great old red tenement buildings with fire escapes on the front synonymous with New York City. The subway is very close by to get yourself up to Times Sq and Central Park. The hotel sits very close to the Manhattan Bridge so you can watch the traffic wizz by the window including the trains.. but its very quiet considering its so close... the double glazing works.. Everything is very clean including the long hall way to the elevator that takes you to reception. Bathrooms are clean and easy to move around and the beds very comfortable. For the price its exceedingly good value. I've stayed before and I'll certainly be going back again.... Ohh you can also leave your luggage for the day at $2 a bag...

The hotel is close to subway located in chinatown, grocery store is surrounding which is easy to grab some fruit and drink before you jump to subway for the city trip. Price for 4 of us is pretty attractive: costs $112/night + tax. I can't find any other better deal for a two double bed room in manhattan. The biggest problem of this hotel is the noise. The subway run like 24 hours beside your bed. My husband has problem to sleep. And the wi fi is not working it only work's at the lobby , in the elevator you have to wait a long time for it to come down or up,there is no parking space close to the hotel. If you drive, you have to park in the outside public parking lot cost $35/24 hours or $6/half hour. All though walk from parking lot to hotel is not far but when you have luggage hand it with 2 fighting kit and need to cross the road, that will be a challenge.

I chose Hotel 91 because of the price ( it seemed to be reasonable for the facilities on offer) and because it was situated roughly half way between my son's flat in Williamsburg and his work in SoHo. I was in NY with my sister to visit my son. I wasn't sure what to expect but was delighted when I arrived to find it in Chinatown, so interesting and an area I had visited many years ago. We were greeted by the most delightful and helpful young woman at Reception and without exception every employee we met was totally charming, helpful and very knowledgeable. The beds were wonderful ( I wished I could bring mine home, and couldn't have survived all the walking we did without it) and everything was so clean and bright. Bathroom spacious! We wondered about the trains on the Manhattan Bridge, but could hardly hear them from the room. The free tea etc was really appreciated, and the Subway is really close. Everything to do with bill so clear and absolutely fair. No charge taken until we were about to leave. Please make sure that Hotel 91 know how pleased we were. I have started telling everyone in Edinburgh about this hotel, and have told my son to tell his friends and colleagues. Nothing I didn't like.

The room is clean and big for new yorks standard. The reception is at the second floor and when you get in the hotel you think that is abandoned. The noisy of the subway is very loud and really annoying.

there is not so much thing to like. hotel lobby is at 2nd floor, it is not like a real hotel. Hotel is just beside the metro, so there is always big noise coming from outside. Room is small and very narrow. Price is also so high if it is compared to the supplied opportunities.

The room was big enough. The entrence to the hotel is very storage, no hotel staff on the entrance floor, you need to go up the elevator to the 2nd floor to find the reception desk. It feels very unsecure and unfriendly. Also in the rooms you can hear the train on the Manhattan bridge. Not too loud but certainly audible.

The Hotel 91 was so opulent and beautiful as soon as we stepped in. We were really surprised at how nice it was for the price. The room was exactly what we needed, enough space, very clean and polished. The bathroom was bright and ample, with a large shower. The bed was very comfortable as was the variable temp of the room. The front desk staff was friendly and professional. I would love to stay at Hotel 91 again and highly reccomend it to friends. The only drawback to an almost perfect stay was a slow elevator, not much of a problem at all.

The hotel and room were clean. It was advertised to be on Lower East Side, is in the middle of Chinatown. Also Manhattan bridge is about 10 meters from Hotel, the subway and cars kept waking me about ten times a night. I have to say was really disappointed and after couple of days also exhausted (because of the traffic). There was no window in the room, which made really unpleasant and claustrophobic. Paying that much money I would have expected more value for my money.

Basic facilities but great for people sight seeing who just want a place to crash. Very comfortable beds. Free tea and coffee downstairs. Location ok but not amazing, 30 min walk through China town to reach Wall Street and about 40 min walk to Ground Zero but an ok walk and you get used to it! Excellent value. Could be nearer main city sights but that is why the price is so reasonable.

The rooms were small but clean. The bed was fairly comfortable. It is next to subway tracks so it is very loud. The rooms themselves are pretty bare of extras, including maps, guidebooks and even information on the hotel itself. The neighborhood is on the very edge of Chinatown and isn't the nicest part of the area. I've stayed in some sketchy hotels that were cheap and this one isn't worth the price at all.

clean and tidy (except of the fact that there is a carpet in the room), comfortable mattress, baggage room for 2 $ per piece and day I don´t like carpets in a hotel room... noisy because of the closeness to the Manhattan Bridge

I really liked that hotel 91 is a good value for money. We payed around 40$ per night/per person. The hotel was really clean. The only complaints are the bridge. The trains run like every 10 minutes. But I didn't really mind, we were so tired, we fell a sleep in a minute. I think if your room is located at the street side of the hotel, the noise will be much less.
